  1. I havent seen him this year, but i dont think many people have as due to injury. In my inital post I said that we should de-list, and then rookie him again. He hasn't made any real impact around the club yet, but was bottom aged when we got him and deserves more time. The only reason i choose him is because i think we will need to get rid of six. especially if we get the priority pick. We will get Pick 1, Pick 2, Pick 17, Pick 33, Pick 49. then Pick 1 in PSD. Also need to make room on the list to elevate Spencer. Wheatley will be be unlucky but you would think another club would pick him up in the PSD. Its not that I don't like Wheatley, I think he adds good value to the team, but I cant think of anyone else who would be delisted ahead of him. P.J? Jamar?
  2. Robbo, Mcdonald, Whelan, Wheatley, Bell, McNamara. Thinking we could Delist then rookie McNamara. Three of my fave players in there. Going to be a sad last game of the season.
  3. I would love to see us come out and win some games, but lets be realistic, how many games are we capable of winning? At best we would finish with about 8 wins. Realisticly we could win 5-6. I would much rather only win 4 and get that extra pick. In 2010 we are going to win more games and head up the ladder, finals should be our aim but we will probably finish 9th - 12th. Normally giving us a good mid range first round pick. GC17 will push this pick back. Which makes it even more vital for us to get that extra pick this year! Pick 1,2 and 17. Scully, Butcher, Young ruck. Rebuild complete
  4. Perfect time for a win. Gets the monkey off our back, keeps all media focus firmly on richmond and freo. We needed a early win to get the membership tally up to 30,000. I'm all for the 'list managment' approach too, but we really do have a fairly harsh run for awhile. 5.Crows (MCG) 6.Cats (MCG) 7.Eagles (Subi) 8.Bulldogs (MCG) 9.Hawks (MCG) 10.Saints (Gold Coast) 11.Magpies (MCG Q.B )
  5. Would love to see Zomer given a chance, but he really hasn't done much to prove himself. He would have to have a really good game tommorow to go ahead of Valenti.
  6. So because he wasn't drafted high then he is going to be a dud? Martin wasnt either. does that mean he is most likely to be a dud too? What about Aussie? Oh yeah Jake spencer was drafted after pick 80 so he is most likely to be a dud too, right? Might as well get Meeson in there! he was drafted in the top 10! that means he must be good. I love it how you think your gods gift to drafting, yet you state crap like this. Jurrah didn't nominate for the National Draft, so we have no idea where he actually would have gone.
  7. Ha! that sneaky bugger. I was so confused when i saw the edited post. I could have sworn Magic said that Garland was a dud!
  8. Jetta's little brother will go fairly high this year. Apprently he is the best of the Jets.
  9. Im a Tasmanian. And while i dont live there now, I will return to the state to raise a family and settle down. The demons will always be my number 1 team, but ill have a soft spot for Tassie and support them a lot, ill raise my kids to go for the Tasmanian side.
  10. I liked the article. The Jace Bode thing is just plain stupid though, takes a lot of credibility away from it all. They should run there articles past someone who actaully supports the club before they print it.
  11. Wow. we lost and got some good press! Mike Sheehan still has a soft spot for us it seems! In all honestly though, it was great to have so many youngsters out there
  12. I like this sort of stuff. Keeps the game interesting. To be fair, your only as good as your last game. And our last game last year was as bad/worse than how the tiges played the other day. The comment eddie made was warranted. Still going to smash them though.
  13. Are Danny Hughes and Rhys Healey injured? Would have thought they would have been in the reserves
  14. http://www.realfooty.com.au/news/news/bara...102.html?page=4 Link to the article. Really enjoyed it myself. I knew a lot of it already but its still a great article! loved the ruck-rover bit.
  15. At the end of the year I would like to see us draft 2 ruckmen. 1 with our 3rd pick of the draft. And one in the rookie draft. Elevate Spencer as number 1 ruck. Delist Jamar this year, Meesen next year. They are not going to take us where we want to be. 2010 #1 Spencer #2 Pj #3 Meesen #4 3rd Pick. #5 Rookie 2011 #1 Spencer #2 Pj #3 3rd pick. #4 Rookie
  16. Why does everyone seem to hate Ricky Nixon? apart from the tram thing.
  17. Hey Casey Scorp. A couple of questions if you know them. 1. How did the alliance with the Saints go? 2. Why did the saints let go of Casey so easily?
  18. I would have liked to have seen Zomer get another crack.
  19. Caroline Wilson's report in the Age SPONSOR JOY FOR DEMONS The Mission food deal was worth $4.1 million, while this Hankook deal is worth $2million. Going to be interesting to see who our other major sponser is.
  20. Ohhhhh Yeahhhhhhh!!!!! The confirmation we have been waiting for. Although we are not by any means out of the woods yet, this sponsership really gets the monkey off the back, I couldn't be happier with the way Jimmy has been running things since he took over. Things are looking good off field. Gives the kids a bit of time to develop into a good team which will then get us out of the woods.
  21. Ummm.... wasn't 2004 the year that Jeff White was AA? hardly showing the first signs that he was not the player he was! Jolly was the icing on the swans cake. Trading him was a win/win for both clubs. The only bad thing about the trade is that Dunn hasn't come along as far as we would have liked, but there is still time for that. If Jolly was on our list now we would still be looking for a new number 1 ruck.
  22. Brilliant! Great work by Davey! Great to see us getting behind the indigenous boys! So great to see them looking after one another.
  23. There are two ways of looking at it. 1.) Player who is worth the most value on the list. = Jack Watts 2.) Most valuable player on the field at the moment. = Brock Mclean I think the article is actually focusing on the 2nd option. And just goes to show that most non-demon AFL supporters and Media writers don't know anything about our list and to truthfull, really don't see any reason too. Even the Ox doesn't know anything about our list. Just puts more evidence into what Dwayne Russell said about the club a couple of weeks ago. Sad, but true. Edit* Just re-read the article. at the top it says 'They may not be your club's most talented players, but these lynchpins are the ones your club can least afford to lose.' Adds a lot of clarification to the article.
  24. If another club could walk into the MFC right now and steal any player, 80% would pick jack watts.
  25. I cant belive how there is no info about the game! Did anyone who is a member here actually go to the game? Really need a good detailed report! How was Zomer??? how did Jetta go? Ive found some info on Bigfooty from a Brisbane supporter who gives a bit of info for us. Posted by Sniff12 As an impartial observer who was actually at the game here is a little bit of info for any dee's fan that obviously didn't get much coverage of hte cairns game down south. 1. The weather wasn't that bad probably 3 quarters of the match was played with no rain and the surface was fantastic. 2. Melbourne played a style of footy that suited the conditions a lot better for example brisbane's midfielder's (ritschelli, johnson, etc) tended to be way too cute with the ball whereas Melbourne's players (such as Bruce, Jones, Maloney?) tended to get the ball forward as quick as possible and by any means. 3. Was really impressed by the fullback (#1 Buckley) who played a great game on Bradshaw and looks really classy, frawley was also a good player for mine and the Melbourne backline really held its own (Stefan Martin?) played a good game on Clarke. The only dissapointing thing I saw in the backline was players like Garland? (Redhead) flying when he should have stayed down a few times letting players like Hooper come into the game. 4. Spencer could really be anything. was told by the a few Melbourne people that they thought his tapwork was great but his skills lacked a bit. I don't remember him getting too many kicks but am sure that everyone hit the target and he contested very well particulary against Luenberger & No. 15 (big Lad) 5. Rivers played the 1st half and did well he came off and had treatment on his ankle which looked like it was always going to happen. 6. Johnson did leave the ground with a hip problem during the game but came back on during the last quarter which would strongly suggest that there was not too much to worry about. 7. As an overrall summation I would place Melbourne in a much better position then the same stage last year. I left after the game against the tigers last year and told my wife that it was going to be a long year for the dees. If any one has anymore questions feel free to ask And again..... posterd by Sniff12 Buckley might not have played fullback but he definately played on bradshaw, warnock had brown for the 1st half and did a pretty good job Brown got a few kicks and a few soft free kicks and as I said Martin did well on clarke. Newtown was ok but not BOG, bruce had a lot of it, you could probably go with the old "Team Effort" in the paper.
