No need to insult the guy. I would be very, very surprised if JMac was still playing in 2012. And Bruce will probably be driving us all nuts by that stage and will only be allowed to stay on because he and Green are the only two who qualify for the Vets list.

Sportsbet. Head to Head Demons - 2.60 Crows - 1.50

Green is still a much needed midfielder for mine. Should, and would no doubt rotate through the forward line this year. But I want to win some games this year, and he will be needed in the midfield if that is to happen. Next year when we have got Scully, Trengove, Grimes and the rest of the young guys some have some much needed experience in them is when we have the luxury of playing Green as a forward. Martin should be learning the forward role at Casey. It's unfair of posters to write him off when he is being forced to learn with experienced defenders on him as well as delivery as shocking and infrequent as it currently is. Unfortunately Martin playing for Casey is another luxury we can not afford at the moment with the KPF and Ruck stocks in short supply.

AFL considers final nine or final 10 for 2012
BAMF replied to demonsflag555657's topic in Melbourne Demons
It's stupid. It's bad enough as it is now as a final 8. the fact that you can finish 8th on the ladder and still have a chance to win a premiership is shocking. I'm so sick of common sense decisions like this being influenced by money. -
Of course he would have done as well, if not better. Fitzpatrick was gifted a few NAB Cup games to show him how the game is played at the top level. I have no doubt that Bailey and the rest of the coaches knew ex-actually what they would get out of Fitzpatrick during this time. Nothing. But it was a great learning experience, he can play out the year at Casey knowing how far off he is and how hard he will have to work. The only reason why Fitzpatrick will get a game in the seniors this year will be because of injuries to the talls.

After a successful 2006 I doubt anyone would have started a rebuild at this point in time. Members would have gone nuts. 2006 was a good year. What band aids are you talking about?

I don't understand why McDonald would be taken out of the equation. He is best 22 this year and will make a contribution to the team. So why take him out of the statistics? A fair summary apart from this.

I would really like to see the team fired up and have a good first quarter. Would also like to see a tight tag on Watson.

Free agency is being introduced in 2012. That means that players must have been at their current club since the 2003 draft. By this stage the only important players still on our list might be - Sylvia, Davey, Rivers. The rest of the players will be either gone, or on the VET list and too old for other clubs. We are looking great for free agency by this time because we will defiantly be on the up by this stage. I actually doubt that players will want to go to the more powerful clubs for the sake of being at a powerful club. I reckon it will be a combo of salary and premiership chances. So if we don't entice any players from other teams the club will fold? There is still a salary cap. There is no way this situation would happen at any club.

Ive heard that Grimes was only kept out of the leadership group by the smallest of margins. But where did you hear this about Fitzpatrick? I'm praying that Grimes will develop into that bone-fide leader/elite player that we have been missing for so long.

This story seems like its 3 weeks too early. Check out the way Scully's leg looks in the photo!

Spot on. Taking the rose colour glasses off for a minute. McDonald, Bruce, Green, Miller, Davey, Moloney and Rivers show how bad we lack good on field leaders. Unfortunately most of them cannot even play consistently good games either.

Going to do the 3 word this year JoeBoy?

Which team have the best?

No, it's not fact at all. The details surrounding Brocks departure are still a mystery. Officially Brock decided that he didn't want to play for us, and he was traded. I listened and read all the interviews Brock had after being traded and he was very careful not to bag the club out and dodged giving a reason for his change of heart. He was then asked about Casey fields and gave an honest answer. He lives on the other side of the city, he didn't like the drive. As for the need for pace in the midfield. We picked up gysberts with the pick we got for him. Gysberts is not a fast paced player.

I don't understand why you all think it's so funny I don't mind Giants or Rangers. Much better than Power or Dockers.

Daniel Bell aiming to be the next "Max Rooke"
BAMF replied to Bring-Back-Powell's topic in Melbourne Demons
I've given up on this one I'm afraid. Not everyone makes it unfortunately. -
I know what you mean. I had that feeling when watching Martin play for Richmond the other day. Can't help but think "if only we had got him as well as Scully and Trengove" But I bet if for some reason we did have him I would be thinking "if only we had Butcher as well as Scully, Trengove and Martin."

Do we really have any main rivals? I would have thought Geelong, Collingwood and essendon. Collingwood is a traditional rival, but only seems relevant on queens birthday games. Essendon more recently with them beating us in 2000 grand final and that elimination final where Hille destroyed Nicholson. Geelong is who we got paired with in rivaly rounds in recent years because we were both there at the begining. Unfortunaly none of these rivalrys are fierce eg. Essendon vs Hawthorn or Collingwood vs Carlton.

Mclean shook his hand at the end of the match. He doesn't have to at the start. Neitz did the same thing on his 300th. Brock did everything he could for the demons, he decided it wasn't the best place for him and did the best for us again by making sure we got compensated. I've never heard or read anything from him ever bad mouthing the club. And it was a NAB cup match. he played bad. So what? Let's wait until after the first round at least before claiming we have won the trade. Gysberts hasn't even played yet!
-
It's not rubbish. I believe that the friendships that he has formed with the other indigenous boys as well as the other players would be enough for him not to pack up and leave to a brand new club. No, we are not the only club with 3-6 "brothers", and if he had joined another team instead of the demons then I have no doubt that the friendships he would have formed with the players there would prevent him from moving to the gold coast too.

Demonland.com ranked 16th Aussie Rules Website
BAMF replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
We have Demonland and Demonology. Isn't that the same? How is this order determined? It say's popularity, but is popularity determined by 'hits'? or votes?
