  1. Whoa. Just watched the footage. He is long way off AFL level. Pick 50 please. nothing higher.
  2. Big picture is - World cup soccer in Australia = Awesome. AFL will still be played. No matter what. We are talking about 2018 / 2022. Its a long time away. Im sure we would be able to come up with a solution by then. The article which has been linked to in the opening post has set out to get a shock reaction and has done it perfectly. The world cup runs for almost exactually a month. Maybe this thread should be started when we actually win the rights to hold the event.
  3. Yeah he may not have got much of a game at the Cats. But they do have a VFL team as well. Really don't seem to recall when he played above average in that competition either.
  4. With all these players going into the National Draft, what's the point of the PSD? Seems its completely redundant.
  5. Good luck to the boy! Anyone recall why he didnt get drafted last year? He's a bit short for a KPD isnt he?
  6. Frawley was moved off Riewoldt before most of his goals were scored. If anything, that game showed me that Frawley COULD play on the number 1 forward.
  7. Fitzroy merged. But lets all be honest. Fitzroy football club died. And the Brisbane bears just got re-named. You can see why Kangaroo fans fought so bitterly against being relocated.
  8. If Tapscott is available we would be stupid not to take him. regardless of needs. Highly doubt it though. We would definitely need a KPF at 18 though.
  9. i uploaded one a few months back. after a week the picture disaperead and was replaced with a red 'x'. Have been unable to update since then.
  10. Bump. Anyone know anything more about this kid? Should we offer him a place on the rookie list? haven't heard much about him for awhile Edit - Sorry, bumped on the wrong board, can a mod move it to the drafting board please
  11. Buckley has more potential. Bartram is a better player now. I'll be disappointed if we don't use pick 34
  12. Could he become a tagger? Sounds like he has the tank for it. I have big doubts he would get a position anywhere else in the team with a lot of flankers coming through
  13. What if every time is a half back flanker? Best available for the first three picks. Pick 18 can and should be used for needs.
  14. I agree with the above. If we rookie Spencer for the third year it means that Jamar, Meesen, Johnson and Spencer all come out of contract at the end of next year. Johnson and Meesen will be likely to go. Ruckman take so long to develop. Would rather pick up one sooner than later. I would like Vardy. Looks like he might be around at pick 18. Max Gawn could be a likely type too. Not sure if he would be around for pick 34.
  15. If you actually re-read this entire thread, most of the people on here have been quite understanding of the delistings and have been wishing the boys the best for the future. The last page of the thread is discussing the upcoming delisting of Bartram. Which about 90% of posters are agreeing to. I think its more the fact that football has stopped. Trade week is over, and we don't have anything else to talk about. You look at big footy, they are so bored over there that there is a topic on the width of Scullys hands!
  16. Who are the posters getting distraught? In my opinion it seems most posters are very understanding of the de listings.
  17. Does Buckley still qualify to be rookied?
  18. Bruce to V.L means that half his salary doesn't affect our salary cap. It doesn't free up a spot.
  19. Does anyone know what Campbell Browns contract status is? Its a complete meat market this year.
  20. Wow. Poor guy. I simply cannot believe it.
  21. Collingwood traded their first round pick for Cameron Wood in 2007. I think everyone on here knows that we would have to throw in pick 18 or another sweetener to get the deal over the line. Unfortunately what is more likely to happen is Jamar DOES decide to go to port, and then port offer there 2nd round pick. Port are probably the worst team to negotiate with.
  22. So we were fools to except pick 12 for Thompson when he was clearly going to be a star. But you think we should have let him go for nothing? Freak, I want you to imagine that this had happend. Now I want you to explain to me, how this situation would have changed Mcleans mind.
  23. Jamar's trade value is worth whatever a club is willing to pay. Cam Wood being a prime example of what clubs would be willing to pay. I would want a first rounder for him, if we can't get a first rounder then no deal.
  24. Melbourne defender Simon Buckley, who impressed last year as a rebounding half-back before being cut down by injury this season, is attracting significant interest from several clubs. The Demons could move him on for the right deal, which could be a second or third round pick. They rate Buckley highly, but have others who play a similar role. Carlton is one of the clubs linked to Buckley, with the Blues also believed to be interested in Daniel Bell. Despite speculation of a move, Brad Miller is a required player at Melbourne. Miller is yet to sign, but has been on an extended overseas break. The Demons are offering him a new deal. It is understood Melbourne and Carlton have spoken to Bulldog Andrejs Everitt about a possible move. But the Demons appear unlikely to make a serious play for Everitt, who is under contract. They will have picks No.1, No.2, No.11 and No.18 in the draft after the McLean deal and have every intention of keeping them. This article seems odd to me. Buckley being linked to clubs, Miller a required player and Blues interested in Bell??? All seems very odd. Hell, they can take Bell as part of the Mclean trade. That way it opens up a spot for Buckley to stay!
