  1. Thanks Cam. Really appreciate a response straight from the club.
  2. Sorry mate. Your not allowed to use numbers when googlewhacking http://www.googlewhack.com/rules.htm
  3. There is no quote from the club. Im calling bullsh!t. Although your well within your rights for the eat my shorts comment.
  4. A fully fit Jurrah, Sylvia and Pettard. Ohhh.... it makes my mouth water. As for Green, I love him in the forward line, but I think he will be used a lot more in the midfield this year Last season we had McDonald, he's gone now. Moloney is good. Jones is a player we need but needs support. Davey is awesome. The rest are first or 2nd year players. And while its going to be awesome in a few years with all the young players. I think we will struggle a little without Green.
  5. This is correct. While Collingwood have debt, they have a hell of a lot more incoming money than we do. Getting into debt isn't a problem for them like it was for us. For them getting into debt was to be used for investment, which they thought would eventually pay itself off (it hasn't ha ha)
  6. Yeah. Dustin Martin was good last season. Better than Trengove. But I can't believe how over hyped he became. He had a good first year in a really bad team. Should be a good player in years to come.

    Lucas Cook

Fits in with BP's criteria. Elite Tank. good-great disposal. Can read the play well. The above line pretty much sums up all the draftees taken over the past 3 years. Cook fits in perfectly.
  8. Well there you go. Thanks 1858.
  9. just because we have 6 rookie spots doesn't mean we will use them all. Rookies get a 2year deal don't they? I'm assuming that Newton only got a one year offer. But I hardly see the point on loading up on 6 rookies this year if we can only take 1 next year.
  10. My cousin played against him a couple of times. Spoke to my cousin last night. I told him that I was surprised we took him at 33. My cousin said that he was surprised as well, but there was more than one other club looking at him. Said he had massive potential and playing in Tassie has probably held him back. Will hit him up for some more info soon.

    Lucas Cook

Will have to wait a few years for Cook. What was Jack Watts weight when we recruited him?
  12. Josh Walker, Jamie Solly, Andreoilli, Zac Fitzgerald, Jack Frost
  13. Definitely had our sites on O'Shea. Got to love Draft day. It's the AFL version of Christmas. Everyone's a winner.
  14. I've seen Howe in the flesh. Really surprised to see him picked up at 33. I would have thought he would still be there at 50. No unhappy that we got him, just that we took him early. He's got a bit of Tony Mondra about him.
  15. Geez the Blues must be happy Watson McCarthy Mitchell
  16. WTF? Howe at 33? First reaction is that this is a stuff up. Hope im wrong.
  17. come on! this is painful! really want Lynch
  18. radio link anywhere?
  19. damn it. now we have to wait to see if GC call out lynch name at 11
  20. Yess!!! gorringe is gone!
  21. 12 - Brodie Smith 33 - Luke Mitchell 50 - Josh Walker 53 - Cameron O’Shea Honestly don't think Mitchell will be available at 33. We might take him at 12 which will surprise. This is really hard this year. So many players might slide to pick 12 that we would take.
  22. He has Luke Mitchell at pick 64. Personally I think he will be lucky to be available at pick 33 Still hoping for Callum Sinclair with a late pick too.
  23. This is Snoop Dogs from Bigfooty's take on him Taken straight from his Phantom Draft # 28 (BRISBANE LIONS) Ben Jacobs – Sandringham / 186cm / 82kg Profile : I have a heap of time for a kid like Jacobs. Was Capt of the u16 metro side, i think he is Capt of his school and seemingly in the elite class for his age group. Followed that up with champs last year where he acquitted himself really well. Was probably someone that the Suns thought about taking but ultimately was made to realise he needed to work a lot harder to ‘achieve the dream’. Essentially his biggest problem was he was a bit one paced and needed to be more agile / mobile for AFL level. Over summer he got his body into top shape and has had a terrific season. Again played champs and from a possession perspective dominated (he got 36 possessions and 47 in another). Typically used to drift across HB and set play up with his terrific left foot which is both accurate and penetrating. He is also strong overhead and could probably play a role in the midfield but I see him more as a Simon Goodwin / David Myers type for those looking for a comparison. Like Myers, Jacobs just shows the poise, vision and decision making that potentially make him a very valuable player off HB. The knock on him will still be his pace....but he has improved significantly and a definite to get taken fairly high. Why Brisbane: Smart player and with Heppell, Prestia and Jacobs coming in as midfielders you are getting a great blend and what could well be a ‘super draft’ for them. Similar to: David Myers Draft Range: 10-30 Roughie: Seb Tape
  24. Here it is. Emma Quayle's top 25 ranked players. This is not a phantom draft. The Golden Boys
  25. Strange how they didn't stick to the bolded part. This really needs to be looked at in our game.
