  1. Such bitterness is unbecoming. Where is our compassion and empathy? They come they go...what's new? We need to invest our emotions in those that remain and do our bit to help build some positivity about the future.
  2. Are you for real? Are you suggesting that Trengove's injury is Roos' fault? How did Roos cause Hogan's injury? Was Clark's situation Roos' fault? Did Roos create the circumstances leading to Frawley's defection? I'm not sure of your logic. Are you suggesting we should have stuck with Neeld?
  3. I think, on the whole, the trade period has been extremely gratifying. It has not raised my blood pressure one bit and I'm feeling fine. I haven't lost a minute's sleep and I've managed to stay reasonably in control of my workload at work. What more could one ask? To all who wanted/expected big things - relax, it's just football! Well, maybe it's a little bit important but for me and Old Dee, a quiet life is best.
  4. Surely not. This was what came to mind when I read GNF's riddle but I put it aside as too silly and unlikely. I trust Roos and Co. but this is stretching my faith. This might be about it for me if it proves to be true! Swan???
  5. It would make me wonder about the no [censored] policy. Mind you, I'm basing that on little real evidence. maybe you know more than I.
  6. I'll back Roos to make the right choice about how to spend pick 61. I reckon he has a little more of an idea than I do.
  7. Crameri has hired his own defence lawyer to fight the show cause notices. http://wwos.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=8916614 It's really falling apart now.

  9. Such a sad day. When all else was doom and gloom, there was always Robbie Flower weaving a silky web around the opposition. His exquisite skills lit up the eyes of long suffering Dees supporters. I will never forget his ability to glide through a pack and emerge with the ball before breaking away with a couple of bounces down the southern wing and sending it into our forwards. A totally loyal and utterly sublime footballer, the likes of whom will never be seen again. Thanks for the memories Robbie.
  10. Methinks this thread was started too early. Seem to have run out of credible rumours already.
  11. There's still the possibility of wet lettuce.
  12. In education we spend a lot of time talking about differentiated teaching to cater for the often large spread of ability in any given class group. The difficulty is always trying to find a balance between developing the lower achieving students, progressing the middle band of capable students and extending the high achievers. It's not easy and, unfortunately, we often end up teaching to the middle and failing the other two groups who really need our time and attention as much as the middle band. I'm seeing Paul Roos taking stock of the situation and focusing his attention on establishing fundamental defensive skills with our group. This seems to be an acceptance that they can't progress without having a solid grasp of the basics. My concern is that in doing this some of our higher achievers have been starved of opportunities to shine. Our middle core group have also been restricted in their progression. The fact that some of brighter lights have been absent, or wagging, for a good part of the year compounds the problem. Overall, an E+. Better effort for some of the year but little real progress towards being a finals contender anytime soon. Hopefully some expulsions and some new enrollments next year will serve to raise the collective ability levels of the group.
  13. Maybe we could do a deal with the pies. They get Dawes back, along with Frawley and Watts. We get a bag of salt and vinegar chips and a can of coke.
  14. You nearly had me there. I was poised to respond with a "WTF, are you serious?"
  15. I'm not even sure I can watch the second half.
  16. Thank the lord I decided not to drive down from Ballarat today. I was feeling guilty but not now - they can get stuffed.

  18. Roos needs to tear them a new one and show us why we're paying him a million plus a year. I know the players are crap but he's the man who sets the standards. He now needs to enforce them. There's no excuse for putting supporters through this garbage week after week. My usual optimism has taken a beating in the last hour.
  19. What is this crap? Players playing for their careers? give me a break.
  20. I'm sure you and I could do this but I'm a little less sure about the 22 who run out tomorrow. We might be asking just a little too much. Let's settle for a narrow victory rather than a smashing.
  21. Because you heart beats true for the red and the blue. It's not getting any easier is it? My optimism meter is rapidly falling below the midway point. I hope the season ends soon so I can reset to the pre-season default of glorious, unbridled enthusiasm for how much better it's going to be next year.
  22. This is the one that could tip me over the edge.
  23. Call me suspicious but I doubt he was far away.
  24. Let's not forget that Thomson was a part of the whole Essendon debacle. I'm not sure I want him at our club unless he is unequivocally cleared by ASADA. Call me suspicious, but wasn't Dank involved at Geelong when Thomson was coaching them?
