  1. He's emergency so I suspect they can't name him for Casey in case someone has to be a late withdrawal
  2. 11 marks and 20 possies in the backline. Provided good chop out and drive apparently. Warrants call up I think
  3. Can't say the location is one that inspires given what Sorrento is known for. But they do have a reasonably decent ground down there and won't be too busy with toffs this time of the year. Would have preferred Torquay as that is a ripper ground. Plenty of the boys surf and is a common interest that seems to bond quite a few together (Jones, Bail, Hogan?) and the surf forecast probably favours the East coast on Wednesday given how small the swell is. Bloody hell I hope this is the start of something and we have turned a corner
  4. I had to LOL at this one. What about Jamar's contract??
  5. Nah they weren't on show. If Old Man Rivers didn't report this we would have never known. There were no cameras or media there keeping an eye on them, they have every right to hang out as mates after a day of training and have a bit of fun. However, if they ever fail to take seriously anything involved with the club i.e. training, matches, discussions etc then I would be [censored]. We have no idea what they did all day on Monday. I would imagine it wasn't pretty. Although I guess this does give an insight to Watts personality. I hope he doesn't joke around and not take thing seriously when it comes to the MFC. I have a feeling it might not have been the case in the past...
  6. Maybe later you can edit the opening post to say that the discussion on the actual program starts from page... Haha
  7. Posted it in the general membership thread on bigfooty. Well done guys! We need more people like you at this time
  8. Hardwick often seems to come down to training to watch. I've seen him there before and I've only been twice, so unless coincidence he must come a bit. I wonder if any of our boys go to the Tigers training? Compare intensity and drills perhaps
  9. Can you confirm new sponsor maybe? Unbelievable timing if true...
  10. I think I just described myself there... Aside from turning up every week as I'm living in London at the moment
  11. I really feel for him as he's one of those supporters that has obviously given his everything to the club. Probably turns up every week and looks forward to the next game 10 minutes after the one has just finished. You might say emotionally invested in the club. Then he watches us get destroyed the first two games of the season and it would feel like getting sucker punched in the face by the person you love.
  12. Who takes his place in the backline? With him, Nicho, Gillies and Watts playing poorly what would it look like? Terlich Frawley Jetta Pedersen McDonald Watts? Who takes Watts position if he is dropped or plays forward? We need Grimes in midfield. Or just keep players rotating through MacDonald is a few weeks away. At least he gives 100% effort
  13. No way, not sure Garlo is suited at all to a midfield role. He's good in the air usually but can be terrible at ground contests and don't actually think he has enough bulk compared to most midfielders. I'd rather bring in Evans or Bail.
  14. Our players don't want to gut run to pick up the spare man, or are jogging at 50% and then realise the ball is coming to their opponent and then run at full tilt, only to get there 5m from the player when they mark the ball! So frustrating. Just watched the start of the game (only part I can watch again). And when Terlich turned over a kick into the centre from the backline there was Blease and I think 2 other players in the vicinity who should have sprinted back to defensive 50 to make sure no Bombers forwards or midfielders could run in for an easy uncontested mark. But they didn't and Davey took an uncontested mark at 40m with Watts and McDonald arriving 2 secs late
  15. Out clause on the contract? We can only hope!
  16. I reckon he would have usually stayed out, as I'm sure Neeld and co realise how important he is for the team. But coming back with little match fitness I think they probably were being a bit cautious with his game time in case of injury. Although I agree it was terrible timing and surely another 5 minutes on wouldn't have cause much harm
  17. I wish the coaches would say "we need to make sure that every effort is made to get our players excited and WANT to play for the jumper, WANT to put their head over the ball and run flat out all game, take responsibility for their team mates and actions." I hope they don't go down the blame game and be all gloomy this week, as I think there needs to be an element of punishment for sure and for home truths, but to also get them pumped up to actually want to win. If they're miserable and down on confidence, then don't shoot it down further. I have no idea of how I would approach the situation but I bloody hope the coaches do.
  18. Excuse my ignorance, but does the coach have the say in every single interchange? I think the players sometimes make the call themselves, or have instruction to come off after so long on the field etc. I guess this is more relevant to the midfield though.
  19. Gold mate. Captures their look perfectly
  20. Take the [censored], it will make you feel better "What do you think Neeldy...3k, 5k or 10k run on Monday?"
  21. Just watched a brief part of the reply in the first Qtr. Port kicks a goal with a holding the ball against Jones to Cornes about 65m from goal. Sylvia and Hartlett are standing next to Jones (still on the ground) as Cornes gets up. Sylvia runs with his back towards the defense to presumably fill a hole. Cornes simply handballs to Harlett walking past who waltzes to 55m and bombs the goal. Stupid. Next centre bounce Tapscott and Hartlett are on the wing and run into the contest, separating from each other. Ball up with Jones on the ground (again). Tapscott for some reason runs forward and leaves Hartlett free. Harlett gets the ball but Cornes get a free for something I'm not sure. Tappy by this stage has got back to the contest but instead of picking up his man he runs the other way to cover someone else who is no where near the contest. Hartlett gets the handball from Cornes again and waltzes to about 70m uncontested and roosts it long where Gillies spoils it over the line. I could probably dissect dozens more examples, but that shows just how poorly a player of Hartletts ability was covered. Our blokes are simply unaccountable and stupid footballers
  22. I can answer question 1,2 and 5 in one. We seem to be manning empty space by attempting to use a zone. However, when a Port player enters that space we still don't pick them up until the kick is already on its way and if their delivery is quick and quality then we had no chance. Back to man on man I think. Or at least implement the defensive zone properly by being accountable for actual players instead of being so focused on looking at the empty space and where your team mates are. It reeked of training drill vs reality. Desperately need match practice
  23. Spare a thought for me as I'm in the UK and stayed up to watch the game, got 3 hours sleep and am only just going to bed now. So I'm yet to 'sleep on it' and have been simmering with disappointment all day long. Nightmare
