  1. These stats are for each players last 40 games. So keep in mind that players like Terlich, M Jones, Viney, Tyson, Hogan, Toumpas, Michie will greatly increase their scores. Plus, with our terrible game plan and ineffective footy for the last few years I think most players should start averaging a little bit more purely by (hopefully) less errors and flowing play.
  2. there's not a very flattering photo of hogan in that gallery, needs to bring down his body fat percentage by the looks of it...
  3. I assume we're training full time on the large sized ground next to Punt Road now that the filth have moved down the road?
  4. Absolutely spot on. We would be effectively getting 3 players for one pick and although it might be a bit of a gamble to see if 'our no.1 choice' lasts until Pick 9, but if they do then we're 100% winners. But we won't know if they're best 22 until at least a season after joining though...
  5. I think Trenners was in Sydney with Tapscott the other week. I saw it on Instagram
  6. Have we barely touched it this quarter???
  7. The point of the PP is that clubs which are struggling for a period of time can be given assistance in the draft by the AFL. It doesn't matter how long a club has been struggling or how many PP have been given previously, if the club has not improved then they should keep getting a PP until they do. The fact is we are worse than ever and definitely deserve a PP based on the massive difference in the quality of our side compared to the rest of the competition. That's all. Nothing else should come into it. The AFL might be careful though as this is the first one awarded under the new rules so it basically establishes a precedent. But you could argue it establishes a good precedent as in future years if a club requests a PP then the AFL can say are you a basket case like the Dees were? No? Ok. If not, then bugger off
  8. Geez some amazing stats for Gawn, I wonder what his supercoach would have been?? Imagine the stats Hogan would have accrued!
  9. Hogan instgrammed a photo of his phone showing alarms set for icing at 1.30am, 3am, 4.30am etc. He's spitting chips about missing out on Saturday night activities haha He also says in the comments it's not worst case, landed on his knee badly and scans suggest bruised bone and lightly scarred/stretched ligament. Might be able to make finals in 2 weeks.
  10. He does seem to have stepped up his photography into a business now...panic stations, haha, just kidding It seems a day doesn't go by that he's not out taking photos and editing them onto his instagram and facebook pages. Some decent photos too
  11. That's exactly what I mean. Hopefully they can see that we are lacking in the experienced mid department and that by coming to the club with the solid forward and back line we should be able to improve quite well. At least that's the idea! Positive thinking I know, as we've been seen as a basket case. But maybe we're a basket case with more promise than first thought...
  12. Oh and I forgot, to play alongside Viney, Toumpas, Jones and other developing midfielders would also be an attractive prospect
  13. To be honest I had little hope that we would attract a mature age midfield star in the coming off season. We were so poor on field, terrible off field and with apparently such a poor culture the MFC did not look an attractive place for trading in an established star, not matter how much money. BUT I think I've reconsidered and I actually think that if things improve even more by the end of the season we are a good chance to trade in one or two established midfield players from other teams. 1. People have realised just how good our forward line and defence will be. It's always been our strength the last few years, but I think it's becoming even more apparent now with Dawes, Clark, Watts, Howe and even Fitzpatrick. And of course, who wouldn't want to play in a midfield delivering the ball to the Hulk? His 30 goals in 10 games is starting to spark a fair bit of buzz. With Frawley, McDonald, Garland and now Terlich and Clisby the backline is looking not just solid but also pretty skilled. 2. The club is now seen to be making massive changes and the results so far have been pretty good on field. We are not just competitive but are showing half decent skill and a gameplan, which is something we have completely lacked for a while. 3. The coach. Neil Craig has shown so far what a change in attitude can do. If we manage to land Roos or Williams then this will only help further. 4. Being a part of the resurgence of the oldest team in the competition from rock bottom would be an attractive prospect. So I reckon that if we keep up the good form and show the competition how potent our forward line and back line is, then hopefully the midfielders will be lining up at the end of the year...well maybe not lining up, but you get the picture
  14. He's been playing alright with the ball in hand, but I think he's a liability in defence. With Grimes back in hopefully Strauss I don't see him making it. Could be worth a trade bait to see what we could get, which wouldn't be much. I watched a bit of a reply from yesterday and he simply has terrible intensity at the contest. He hangs back and almost never goes in hard, where often his direct opponent has goaled or assisted in goals because he's too slow to react. He can't play in the backline with those sorts of efforts
  15. As far as I'm concerned the club has proven itself to be incompetent over a number of years now and is in drastic need of monetary support and needs to restructure our management and football department. The only way we can do this is with AFL support (I.e. money) and this is conditional of their involvement in matters which means we are effectively under their administration. So be it if we cab turn things around and establish a solid foundation for the future, where we can regain our strength back and be independent of the AFL. This is needed and we will be grateful in the long term. Now we can't only hope they don't [censored] it up and we'll start seeing a turn around of our on field fortunes ASAP or we'll really be in the [censored]
  16. Anyone else have the footy live android app? Every suns goal and behind is described in detail but our goals and behinds are simply listed as who kicked them... We're so bad no one gives a sh#t anymore!!
  17. Mids dominating and plenty of forward 50 entries? Or are we making the most of our opportunities?
  18. Leads our inside 50's by some margin. Has 27 and next best Jones with 17, then Byrnes with 11
  19. Dodgy insurance claim Bentleigh Club burns down - emails found between directors calling for 'operation inferno' to be carried out
  20. Dank to Bates: "Meeting with Neil Craig next Tuesday or Wednesday. Spoke to Dave today." Bates to Dank: "Great." Dank to Bates: "When we will start Jack Trengove on the AOD?" Bates to Dank: "Tomorrow" Bates to Dank: "Where can I get him to pick it up from?" Dank to Bates: "The pharmacy. Tell him to ring me and he can meet me there." Bates to Dank: "...Lynden Dunn would like an injection on Thursday if possible (good about Dunny asking, as he is doing it because the other guys have said they feel good). Dan." Dank to Bates: "Great. I will book him in."
  21. Speaking of Matt Jones. Just found this photo of him in younger days. Perhaps explains why he took until his mid 20's to make it. He's clearly dropped quite a bit of weight and maybe he realised that hard work was needed and has not stopped since Good on him. He's definitely been one of our best so far and very consistent it seems.
