  1. - toumpas is a gun - jamar is back to his best - our midfield was completely outclassed today, jones played well but he knew it was a practice match. We desperately need trengove to become a-grade, viney and Kent to give good support and grimes to be a 30 possession centreman. - Sylvia's possessions, are always powerful, constructive and driving. He will be an a-grade forward giving us much needed support thru the middle. He is a sprinter not endurance player, like davey. Neeld must realize this. - watts was not used properley. I see him as our next Travis Johnstone architect type without the [censored] issues. Is all class and smarts but needs to be given more and get more of the ball. We should try and use him as a tall centreman like hird played for a few years. - Evans had a shocker. Overall stkilda looked slicker, sharper, tougher, better structured, Definitely are class above. It was too hot and too windy with too many rotations to get a proper understanding of our potential. There were also too many rotations allowing easy goals. [censored] game really.
  2. Some observations -Our bench rotations allowed stkilda players to get free, in which the saints kicked a couple of easy goals. - gillies is half the player of rivers. - davey took a courageous mark, and won a very tough contested possession. He will play very good footy for us this year. - hogan will be a gun. He has the swagger. - Joel Mac is not good enough. - we needed jetta and mckenzie for some hard dogged scrapping. - frawley looks a little lost - Dunn will be an elite backman - terlich looks like he belongs - tapscott nailed a bloke, neeld must find a position for him. He is too good to waste or trade. - seller has long arms and can crumb. I think he is a good back up player - pederson had a good first half -
  3. 2 subs and 2 interchange Or Simply 2 subs I want rovers resting in the forward pocket and players never touching the pine with epic 1 on 1 battles, all match long. Real champions can dig deep when exhausted. I am sick of rotations and players who are simply gifted for running flat out for 4mins. If I see another bloke get benched after he kicks a goal, I'll puke.
  4. We threw away cook, picked up seller, let's call it even.
  5. Here's hoping hogan kicks 10 and announces to the world that the demons are ready to pack out the 'g' once again.
  6. Tappy needs to get out and play. Tough as fcuk, he needs to get his swagger on. Too good to waste. I hope neeld can develope him, get him to chase like viney.
  7. Remember brad green. He won a final for us in his first year. Keeping hogan in cotton wool is soft. If the kid can play, let him play. If the afl can let it happen without too much fuss, then bring it on. Contrary to popular belief, we are aiming to make finals, hogan may be the difference, especially considering Mitch's issues.

  9. yes, on 3aw, they were talking about the afl possibly making an exception to allow hogan to be allowed on our last primary list lodgement in march. Apparently, if the case was taken to court, the afl would lose. An exemption was made for bate back in the day because he was 28 days too young. The afl allowed him to make the grade due to his physical maturity. Here's hoping hogan plays round1. The MFC should at least lobby the afl for an exemption.
  10. Toumpas over wines will be interesting aswell.
  11. Maybe, there is an agreement that the fine can be paid over 'x' many years, and that maybe over time, the fine can be further watered down so that in essence, the perception of a half $million fine was just a symbolic penalty that does not have to be paid at all. The afl have egg on their face, more so than MFC, and all parties know this. MFC may have said, if we challenge you in court, we will win and you will look almighty stupid on the other hand, give us a big fine which we can water down over a ten-year period. Lesson learned, that's enough!
  12. Wait for the backlash if moloney wins a b&f, rivers gets an all Australian, Gysberts and petered play finals and pederson can't get a touch.
  13. First game vs cats, skinny Gysberts racks up 25 possessions. Not a spud, just not wanted by neeld.
  14. Seems fair. Cop it on the chin and move on. A good lesson learnt by nearly all of us. You can't lose to win. Only winners win!

  16. Wouldn't be great if in 15 years time, we could include the following players;Watts Toumpas Trengove Clark J.viney Hogan It would need to happen if we want to win a premiership.
  17. Pity it's a lie. It's pretty obvious we wanted to lose. We should not defend a lie. The admin, coaches and supporters wanted to lose, I know it, you know it, everyone knows it. Let's not delude ourselves. Our only defense is that the players played to win, and that the afl encouraged losses with their stupid priority picks. Lesson learned by everyone, let's just move on.
