  1. Im sure it is just easier for the head haunchos to just spend an hour every night, like us, reading thru Demonland. They will quickly get the drift.
  2. HG, why are you waiting till next week, this aint days of our lives. Spill your guts, its not cool to say, Ive got a secret but I will tell you next week. Thats [censored].
  3. Has anyone got the balls to be honest and reveal the truth. Honesty hurts, but it is a sure fire way to get things going again. There is fire and passion in raw honesty. BRING IT ON HG! the [censored] is killing me. Live and let live, live and let die. We still have our jumper, we still have our home and we still have our song. Everything else can be replaced.
  4. One week is a long time in footy. We may come out and beat the bombers and then we are 1&1 and we go into rd3. If we get smashed again, neeld has nowhere to hide. He will be lynched with everyone else who was involved with this deplorable rebuild. We find out on Saturday night. Probably the biggest game in neelds career, as it may just be his last. Remember schimelbusch got sacked after a pre-season match when the kangas got comprehensively belted. He was a club champion however, the kangas went on to the most successful decade in their history. Rd2 is a big big big game for mark 'duffy' neeld.
  5. I wish we had the brains to pick an untried coach like the Scott brothers.
  6. Kostya tzu lost a world title fight against Ricky Hatton in Manchester a few years ago. Tzu, one of the greatest of his time and undisputed champion of the world was asked why he lost the fight so convincingly. His response was, 'my preparation and training leading up to the fight was better than any previous fight I have had, actually, the preparation was so good that I went into the fight a little too relaxed and Ricky was full of determination and didn't give me a chance to implement my fight strategy'. Ofcourse I am summarizing as it was so long ago, but in essence that is what he said. Actually, the quote is in his book. Maybe, just maybe, the demons preparation for the game went so well, that they went onto the game a bit relaxed and not as hungry as the power. Hopefully against the bombers we can get a cracker up our arse and realize that all the training, strategy and preparation is useless unless you are hungry enough to get the bloody pill. Here's hoping that there is a silver lining.
  7. Don't know about that, if we teamed up with Kangaroos, we would have a good coach 'Scott', and a ripper team. We would win a premiership rather quickly and have memberships of around 50,000. We would instantly become one of the largest clubs in the land and guarantee our existence at the MCG with a home at Arden St. Kangaroos love the MCG and are not that attached to their 'North Melbourne' name. Melbourne were originally known as the Fuscias and the 'Demons' brand is not really corporate friendly, nor child friendly. We need a home, more cash and we desperately need some spirit. If I was not so attached to our colors and our theme song, I would say it is a perfect fit.
  8. because your a dreamer who accepts losing and passes responsibility to others for making big decisions that influence the future of your existence.
  9. Melbourne Kangaroos training out of Arden st. What are the odds? If our board hires another dud coach, it would be a certainty. I just hope we keep our cherished red and blue colors when playing home games at the MCG. They can have the blue and white for away games, we play in white-away jumpers anyway.
  10. You should join the board Ron, I have a feeling you would fit right in.
  11. Malthouse changed his plan at half time and nearly won the game. After the game, our coach asks the journalists whether they have any ideas? dear god...... this calls for a 2 year extension
  12. Actually, Tom Hafey lives around the corner from me, and one day I asked him; "How did you take the wooden spooners, Collingwood in 1976, to grandfinalists in 1977 without changing the list"? He said, Football is a simple game, you must be hungrier than your opponent to get the ball, once you have got the ball, if your under pressure, handball it to a free team-mate and kick it to a leading option. If he dosnt mark it, win the loose ball and kick it to the next leading option. Then if he dosnt mark it, pick up the crumbs and kick the goal. If the opposition have the ball, get on your opponent and wear him like a glove. I spose, the rest is motivating the players to be hungrier than their opponent. Hafey was good at this, so was Northey who had the us against them mentality. Sorry for all you believers, Neeld must go.
  13. Bloody Oath. Wouldve loved to see Moloney, Wines and Viney going ballistic in the centre and Frawley patrolling the defences with a warrior snarl. Dosnt fit into the game plan tho.
  14. Watts kept talking about 'something needs to change'. I wonder what that something is, maybe Neeld? Neeld also asked the journalists whether they had any ideas for the future. Neeld is in BIG BIG BIG trouble. He admitted he has no idea. At least I am laughing now, the press conference was so insipid it was funny. You never know, after this result, the board might extend Neelds contract by 4 years, so he can see out his 'long hard road of training preparation'. What a goose!
  15. This was quite evident when maloney, a Melbourne supporter, turned his back on the club and basically said neeld is a fcukwit. If he has even killed Jones passion, its truly dangerous. Neeld may be our coach, but it is quite evident that he can't coach. To think we have to put up with this misery for another year is sadistic. Throw your bullshite game plan out the door, give me some animal ball winners and let me watch a bunch of bloke giving their all for the jumper. Did you notice malthouse on Thursday quickly change his gsmeplan when he saw it wasn't working. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, its probably a Neeld.
  16. break a moral fabric, or break our spirit? Dangerous waters Pates, this aint the army. These are skilled determined athletes with flair. Neeld is killing them.
  17. Neeld IS in serious trouble. Wait till the bombers game and especially if we get beaten by the 2 new clubs.
  18. Forest, some people just will not learn.
  19. If Frawley follows Moloney, Rivers and possibly Sylvia, It will confirm what many have been saying about Neelds methodology. He is a desk clerk, not an AFL coach.
  20. The main difference between Neeld and Roos, is that Roos can turn average characters into passionate footballers, Neeld has not inspired any passion at all. Not even after big Jim died. Neeld is very very dangerous to the spirit of this football club and supporter base. Even if the players are fitter, there is nothing more dangerous than losing your spirit. He is not the only one, Craig lost the Adelaide boys, they became spiritless, albeit after 7 years of relative success. Sheedy held the spirit of the club together for 25 years. Malthouse for over 10 years Matthews for about 10 years Roos for about 8 years Neeld seems to kill our spirit. I don't know why, but he has even killed my spirit. He seems like kryptonite. He even sapped Nathan Jones. How can pro footballers be so disinterested. Maybe its Neelds style. If we don't show fight against the bombers, Neeld must be replaced. Im not talking about winning, just spirit. The raw basic ingredient. If Spirt is not there, then knock on Roos door. Let Viney be caretaker, at least we will fight our way thru games. Losing our most passionate player in Moloney was a wakeup call that the spirit was dying. I try my best to buy in to Neelds vision, but boy he makes it bloody hard.
  21. Here we go again. It's the players fault! Don't sack gillard, replace the secretaries. We don't learn do we? Nb, port are bottom 6.
  22. Where do we start? The board must go. Mistake after mistake after mistake, and on big decisions like picking a new coach and football department, they gutlessly handed all power over to the self serving garry Lyon, who made the biggest blunders of all by thinking he was more astute than sheedy, Matthews and ridiculously not approaching malthouse. I am dumbfounded. We must now Chase roos. He is proven. We can't afford to take any more risks. Ps, who in their right mind would ever pick a speculative apprentice over a successful proven master. I am dumbfounded on how stupid some people are. Unfortunately, we are now all paying the price. Many of you supporters must take responsibility for supporting these stupid decisions. We may be the stupidity football club in the land. Ffs, we even play games in a white jumper. The worlds gone mad!
  23. By having to spend at least 95%, it encourages lower clubs to poach stars from other clubs with salary cap issues, thereby distributing quality players over the breadth of all afl clubs, creating a more even league and greater viewing spectacle.
