Fitzy's field kicking has always been good, unlike some of his effort at goal. If he can start clunking his marks he could be a very useful defender. Another good 200cm full back is Jake Carlisle although Thompson was determined to make him a forward.

In 2004 I was working with a number of Koreans who had moved to Melbourne (and were living in the Kew and Hawthorn area) and given their fondness for things blue and red I approached the club with contact details of their community leaders - who were very interested in talking to the club. Needless to say the club did nothing. The bulk of them are now passionate paid up hawks. I managed to get a half dozen to our games and at least they're now ours. We've been amateurish for a very long time.

Is it too hard for the club to have someone come and talk to the supporters and keep them informed as to what is happening and why? It's called public relations and the MFC has no idea. This is the area where Chris Connolly is most missed.
