  1. RIP Troy, a wonderful young man who lost his life, but saved that of his wife. A true hero. Has anyone actually visited the school built in Troy's memory? I'll be in Phi Phi island in a couple of weeks, and would love to know exactly where it is situation on the island so I can go visit.
  2. When words are not enough...
  3. I still want to know where Chris "Moneybags" Judd was when all this went on. Didn't the princess leave West Coast disgusted at their culture? HA!
  4. Don't you just hate people who are that perfect? (and yes I'm bitter that an AFL player beat my ENTER )
  5. But you have to admit, this couldn't have happened to a more deserving club!
  6. So sick of hearing about bloody Mt Scopus. Other Jewish schools made it into the top 20 too! <_<
  7. Too much post-VCE partying for young Jack!
  8. Ohhh gotta remember to set the recorder!!! Thanks.
  9. I picked us to beat Carlton and Collingwood (on QB), but that's more wishful thinking than a realistic prospect. So 8 wins it is.
  10. Excellent. My work desk is screaming for some Melbournisation!
  11. I hope somebody can confirm that each member who signed up early gets a calendar, and that it is not one per household, or World War 3 is about to break in my house.
  12. I studied fashion merchandising (fashion business in plain terms), I want to be a product developer/buyer, but currently I'm a planner. Confused? Fingers crossed we might see some 'Jaded-inspired designs' at Melbourne soon...
  13. Anyone notice the remarkable similarity in ideas between the range they have produced and the one I developed? Freaky!
  14. I'll put money on Jack Grimes being in the leadership group next year. The problem at the moment is that our younger brigade really is just so young and inexperienced, so it's little surprise that virtually everyone over the age of 25 has been included in our leadership group for 2010. I'm not saying these guys are not worthy, but their age and games experience is the one common link between them. 2011's leadership group will be very interesting indeed, and as I've said Grimes will certainly be in there. As I understand it the players did indeed vote for this leadership group, but I have no doubt that a few younger players were very much in the mix.
  15. No wonder we never won a flag with that team!
  16. The bottom line is, if Bailey does not coach us long term, the next coach of the MFC will benefit from all the dirty groundwork that Bailey has done. Bailey may never get the gratitude he deserves for doing the hard thing, the right thing by the club. He put his own reputation on the line for the sake of our future, and for that he deserves to be rewarded with another 2 year contract to take him through to 2013. Now is the most crucial time for our list in terms of development, and game-day tactics are less critical. From the outside, Bailey strikes me as a great teacher and developmental coach, which is what we need at this stage of our premiership cycle. In 3 seasons we may well be ready to challenge for a flag, and by then I think we'll know whether Bailey is the right tactical coach to take us there.
  17. Easy to please, aren't you?
  18. Gawn- Shorty Because it'll confuse Collingwood supporters :D
  19. What an opening post! I must say I laughed at the no neck comment. Poor kid, looks 28 already!
  20. Gees Maric is absolutely ripped! Hopefully this means he can start laying some bone crunching tackles, which is a key element to being a good small forward these days.
  21. Might debut them on separate occasions to draw more crowds in But certainly both will debut early in the season, if fitness permits. Edit: by both I mean Scully and Trengove
  22. I also think that people forget Maric was underage when we drafted him, and spent his first season, much like Watts and Blease this year, completing VCE. Last year was his first real AFL season where he got to undertake pre-season training, but unfortunately suffered a season ending shoulder injury. He showed in a number of games this season that he is a very smart player and an exceptional kick (except his first game this year where he was well off ), and we certainly lack smart smalls in our forward line who are versatile enough to also push into the midfield. Can definitely see a role for him in our best 22.
  23. I would suggest that there will be nothing token about the young players added to our leadership group, as it is extremely important that we start to develop next generation leaders. Kids like Grimes are IMHO better suited to leadership roles than some senior players you've mentioned above.
  24. Shhh, back in your box you! I was always thinking best available with picks 1-18, because I'm not a fan of mediocre talls.
