I didn't see the Essendon game, so can't comment, but for what it's worth I thought Trengove was instrumental in helping us win today. He has had 3 good weeks, in tough conditions, and deserves a nomination for consistent effort.

6- Frawley (bloody brilliant, and shut down Burton who was killing us) 5- Junior (inspirational as always) 4- Grimes (great as always) 3- Jamar (continues to dominate) 2- Warnock (completely shut down Tippet) 1- Green Bennell, Trengove and Bail very stiff.

Adelaide's tactics are a disgrace to this great game of ours. How they expect to win a flag I don't know. Meantime our goal kicking is atrocious, and not being helped by the terrible wind. I wish Bruce would get the hell out of the backline!

Yeah but of all the emergencies he's the one most in need of getting game time under his belt, so it's weird that he was the chosen emergency. I have a weird feeling he's playing today. Of course I have no evidence to prove that whatsoever, but I live in hope

Me and my inevitable hangover will be there. Hopefully the predicted poor weather doesn't keep too many away. It should be a good game, and we are a serious chance to get a win, so nobody should miss that!

And MacDonald, who was superb on Cloke. Bruce is not an ideal key defender, and I certainly would prefer Rivers/Garland in his position. If Garland plays on Sunday (fingers crossed), I'd hope to see Bruce playing as a forward, where his terrible handballing skills won't be such an issue.

GARLAND! I know he might not play, but.... Garland is back!!! My hopeful final bench: McKenzie (deserves to be in the starting 18!) Garland Jones Newton Adelaide have no rucks, so Jamar to go alone one more week. It's a very risky startegy but Spencer just doesn't give us enough around the ground to justify his selection at the moment. Bate needs to gain fitness away from the AFL stage where he is becoming a bit of a liability. Edit: It appears that Newton is the forgotten man on the bench. As much as it pains me, I think he deserves another week, plus he can help out in the ruck.

If this forum was a person, they would surely be diagnosed with a case of split personality. Last week it was time to close down the club, sack Bailey and delist Jack Watts, and this week we're a chance for top 4. Love it!

Amazingly he was always standing smack bang in the middle of the corridor, on his own, waiting to get the ball and really drive us forward. Absolutely fantastic game from his yesterday. I think we may have finally found our four horseman (those who have been around this site for a long time will know the reference) in Scully, Trengove, McKenzie and Grimes!

Even more impressed with him now, having seen the replay. Terrific courage and was really taking it up to his opponent. Quite clever in close too, giving off some very nice handballs to release a teammate. Only disposal by foot is going to keep him from making it at AFL level IMO, so if he can improve that, he should become a very handy player for us.

Bruce IMO is the last remaining senior player in the team, who hasn't been able to adapt his own game to suit Bailey's game plan. And it's disappointing that he is seemingly being let off the hook so easily by the match committee.

Love love love him. Goes about his business, is HARD at the ball and the man and is surprisingly good with his disposal. Does anyone know why he wasn't picked up in the draft? What were his major deficiencies according to the recruiters?

I wasn't calling Maxwell a spud because he is a bad player, I was calling Maxwell a spud because he plays for Collingwood and has a very punchable face... as if I need to explain that!

Why? Why should he be above the team? You play poorly you get dropped. Miller did, so why not Bruce? I never get that one. I really don't.

Bate is not fit, and is a completely liability right now. The Juice dream is over, but for the sake of fairness he should get another game. We already paid to elevate him and all. Bruce I've given up on. Jamar needs support. I never want to see Juice rucking ever again *shudder*, plus we can't risk over working him into an injury. Heaven help us if Jamar goes down! In: Sylvia, Martin Out: Bate (get fit!), Bruce (Since that won't happen, Bennell probably needs to harden up with Casey for a while. Dropping chest marks is unacceptable!)

Yep, he still jumps at shadows, even if he does try to pull the tough man act with his opponent (and I did love him getting stuck into that spud Maxwell!). However he did well today, and there is no doubt his best position is as a forward. His kicking is an asset that we dearly need in our attacking 50. If Bate and Newton made the same contribution as Dunn today, we probably would have won.

I must have Grimes' babies. That is all!

That will be me, minus the light beer... I keep my drinking till post-game, when I really need to drown my sorrows. I'm gonna go chase the sun. Might as well enjoy the weather, if I'm not going to enjoy the game.

That made me laugh too. Dunn... for goodness sake, if the perception out there is that Dunn is one of our tough guys, we might as well shut up shop now!

Scullgove will then be released into the middle. Since my knee injury I just can't run out games like I used to, so I'm doing what most fat lazy past-it hacks do, hide in the forwardline! B)

Yeah the selections are not exactly giving me great confidence of losing by under 10 goals. Bail is a perfectly reasonable in, so no drama there, but Newton? Come on, are we not suffering enough right now? Rehab is nearly over. I'm at about 85% fitness. Melbourne is waiting for me to get the all clear so they can plonk me in the pocket to help out Juice

Is it too much of an over reaction if I ask someone to shoot me before I get to witness this game? Ugh, I hate football sometimes
