Too little too late. And Bartram may be struggling, but Yze is the last person he should be taking advice from. At least he chases, tackles, stands within 10m of his opponent and puts his body on the line every week. For someone who was at risk of never playing again due to the complicated nature of his injury, he has done well to come back and compete. He isn't brilliant, he never will be, but he works hard at his task and that's what you can expect from a 2nd year player (last year doesn't count, only played 1 match) playing in a team that is getting smashed every week and is devoid of any leadership.

Nothing you just wrote excuses a selfish and very experienced leader at the club to yell at a kid for a mistake he did not make with intent. Like I said, Yze should worry about his own form before attacking others. And Yze's circumstances are COMPLETELY his fault. Junior, Bruce, Whelan and Green have all kept their spot in the side because they are teamworkers and they contribute. Yze spent the year at Sandy not because of age, but because of his application at senior level over the last 3 seasons.

Please, Bartram stuffed up, he didn't do it on purpose. Bit rich for Yze to be having a go at a kid 10 years younger than him, when he is meant to be a leader and yet his output this year has been disgraceful. Should worry about getting his own ball before yelling at others for not giving it to him! Edit: Jeff White- oh dear.

Did I really just see Yze yelling at Bartram? Please tell me I didn't just see the least team-oriented player on the field yelling at Bartram for not handballing to him! :angry: :angry:

Martin and Morton are the only two reasons why I haven't taken a knife and slashed my wrists yet. Would someone explain to me what the fudge we're doing? The accountability, or lack therefore, is the worst I've seen from us all year, and that's saying something. A shameful display even though I want to lose and finish on the bottom.

Football is very uncertain. Heaven forbid he suffers a career-ending injury next week and never plays again, or perhaps he has post-footy aspirations and is looking to study part time while playing. I admire players who can look beyond their footy, because those careers don't last long even at the best of times.

Says who? We're 16th and he can hit a target, there is definitely a spot for him in the side especially since Aussie is struggling.

Yeah, good to hear he is concentrating on school. He's had a taste of senior footy and did brilliantly, but to be perfectly honest a good VCE score will help him more in life than playing a losing game in Adelaide. Smart kid and great to see the club accommodating him. It will be much the same if we get Watts in the draft, he probably won't play any senior footy at all. By the way, Greeny made it pretty damn obvious on the Footy Show tonight that these are farewell matches for both Yze and Whitey.

Frawley I thought was quite good the last two weeks, finally getting some confidence and taking the game on. Strange. I'm pretty sure Maric has VCE or school-football commitments, because it seems grossly unfair to drop him. Yze and White getting their farewell games. Port by 10 goals, and thank god for that.

If Harvey looked like Jennifer Hawkins and wore a bikini while making milkshakes then maybe he could lure Cale home, but unfortunately for him Harvey's milkshakes don't bring all the boys to his yard You would think we are the first club to talk to out of contract players before the end of the year!

Absolutely I include Green in that 80% Yes he's a good player, and yes he's a good leader, but he won't be around for a premiership and he is not so valuable that if we lost him and gained a top player for the future we'd struggle. For goodness sake, he is not an A grade footballer, he is a loose defender who sometimes plays forward, hardly irreplaceable. And for all of his leadership attributes, Green was not put in the leadership group at the start of the year, so we'd manage without him. Experience is great, but young talent is better when you're on the bottom of the ladder. And yes I want him to stay, but if we get offered pick 25 or lower I would take that without hesitation.

Because Bruce aside, he has the greatest market value. By the way I would trade Bruce well ahead of Green, as IMO we would get more for Bruce and the loss to our team would be less.

Are you serious? I would trade 80% of our list for a top-5 pick. In what is going to be the last draft for a while where we can get early picks, I would sign that deal in a second. Unfortunately, nobody will give us a top-5 pick... not even for Davey or McLean, not a chance. It would be irresponsible of us to get to a situation where Green can walk for nothing, but I doubt it would get to that point. However, I do NOT want the club to make the same mistake it has made in the past, letting players dictate the terms and end up with long-term contracts for players who are virtually useless. So while Green is a very good player and leader, and has 3 or 4 good seasons in him yet, if he isn't happy with what we are willing to give him, we'll find a suitable trade and off he goes. We have to think long-term aswell. With salary cap reductions and a list that's likely to mature together, we have to make room for future contract negotiations or we leave ourselves open to losing seriously good players.

Maric is just so smart, and his ball use is first rate. Not sure why the negative comments. As for Martin, he is simply phenomenal. To come from his background, having had so little time to adapt to AFL and be thrown into a bottom-team's defence is bloody hard. He has handled it like a champ... cool, calm and collected. Warnock down back was also terrific by the way.

In hindsight it's a good thing we got rid of him before he lost the plot. Who did we get with that pick btw? Watching Scotty Thompson still breaks my heart... the superstar we almost had.

Why can't we let Jamar ruck the whole game on his own? White did it for 10 seasons, and we're hardly playing for finals here. As far as I'm concerned, no other available ruckman on our list deserves a game. Bring in Petterd to replace PJ and we'd be miles better off than having a disinterested White or a seriously poor Meesen. If worse comes to worse and Jamar goes down, Martin can have a short stint in the ruck.

No love for Warnock? Thought he did a superb job on Lynch.
