When they showed him on the TV he was just standing around eating with his mouth open. It's that sort of lazy porker attitude that is going to cost him a top 3 place in this year's draft. I just hope Neeld can really turn this kid around with his stinker of an attitude.

No doubt whatsoever about that. This is what Free Agency was designed to do, however I'd probably be a lot more excited if we signed Goddard, just because he is a very good player, and Byrnes is well, not. Point is, good luck to both parties, the best case is if this works out as the club hoped and we get a good solid contribution from Byrnes. If nothing else, we might actually get to see some crumbing next year, which I haven't witnessed since Aussie porked up and [censored] off.

I truly hope we don't get Wellingham. We're trying to change the culture of the club, and you don't do that by bringing guys who have achieved little and yet think their sh*t don't stink. Also he happens to be just a good ordinary player. I'd much rather go after Farren Ray. Would probably cost less, and contribute more.

He seems like a lovely guy, he knows what it takes to win a flag, it's all very good. But these types of players don't excite me. They are good for the culture, and they help strong teams with gun players to finish the job off. I just don't think Byrnes has the talent required to actually make any significant impact on our list, be it next year or the year after that. He isn't a gun midfield and he isn't a key position forward, which are the two things we desperately need. That doesn't mean we shouldn't try to fill some of the other holes in the team, as we have, but you and I both know that this signing is pretty minor in the grand scheme of things. It's about as exciting as drafting Magner was. Not very. I wish I could get excited about minor wins, but this team has sucked the life out of me by continuing to be absolutely woeful year after year, drafting poorly and developing poorly. So you'll excuse me if my only reaction to this signing is "meh", but I honestly feel nothing, good or bad, about Byrnes coming to the club. And again, this has nothing to do with Byrnes as a player, and I wish him all the best and I truly hope he makes us a better side, no matter how minimally.

WTF are you on about? I said nothing against him, I just find it hard to get excited about bit players. Get Tippet then I will jump for joy. Byrnes is a good short term get, but he isn't going to help us climb out of the shithole we currently reside in. As I mentioned, it would be great if he succeeds and I wish him the absolute best of luck. I'm just not falling off my chair in excitement. Maybe years of being rubbish have driven me to permanent apathy?

It's no secret that Wellingham is neither a gun nor the brightest lightbulb in the box. He likes the nightlife, he likes the boogie, and he is not worth a cent more than a mid 20 pick. If we give up anything more than that, we are screwed in the head. He might be a developed mid, but he sure as hell won't make us a top 8 midfield.

If we give up pick 4 for either of these NQR mid grade player, I will go postal and quit footy forever. We cannot be so absolutely dumb.
