I am waiting for Frost's toe to just be cut off... he is always injured. Hibberd and Wagner are not tall defenders either.

It makes winning the clearances that much more important. Carlton's inside mids are actually pretty decent. This is not gonna be the roll over everybody thinks it is!

That game was horrific. Complete lack of skills from both teams. Richmond fans think they're a shoe-in for the flag. Their demise is gonna be so fun to watch!

The real concern is that we've gone from having a solid backline, to scrapping the bottom of the barrel with a few injuries now. Top priority this off season is getting a tall defender.

I don't think it will be a smashing, I reckon we will win by 5-6 goals and move on from the win as quickly as we did last week. We have a massive challenge in round 3 against Geelong (a game I'm going to miss and need to hunt down a pub down the coast where I can watch it).

What a thought provoking and ultimately sad article. Bailey was treated horribly by our club, and no coach could have possibly succeeded in the environment in which he found himself in. I have no doubt the players loved him, and he loved them, and as a coach he would have been more successful had he been supported by higher powers. It is incredibly sad that a man who set out to do the best for our club, ended up having his own name tarnished and died several years later probably carrying that burden with him. Thank god we have moved on from those toxic days. That we actually managed to survive them is a miracle, that we are now thriving off the field (and maybe on it too), is a credit to the new administration. ...and the less said about Neeld the better. I still wake up in cold sweats thinking about that horrific period in our club's history!

Just goes to show that Jetta is incredibly important to our structure. While Tommy is running up the wing stinking up his disposal (and I love Tom as a defender- so please don't get me wrong), Jetta is down back holding the place down.... defending! Superb game from him. Is he the most consistent player we have, maybe aside from Jones? I can't remember the last time he had a shocker. 100% reliability.

Did a couple of beautiful blind turns today too on the wing Also Hogan on the wing is good. But puhlease, he is the forward god made when he was making forwards.

I never want to see that first quarter again. Luckily we killed it in the other 3 quarters when our midfield starter to get on top and really dominate. Oliver is next level. Jetta I thought was superb Thought Hannan was excellent too. So happy to start the year this way. It was a 50/50 game and to come away from this with such a positive result is fantastic. Now the key is to back it up next week. On a separate note, all the best to Reiwoldt.

I don't necessarily disagree, and while it's all about offence from defence these days, you still need players down back who can actually defend, and Jetta is an exceptional defender. Between Hunt, Melksham, Hibberd and Vince, we have 4 players down back who are so so defenders and will give up their share of goals. This is where Jetta comes into his own, as he can successfully reduce the influence of guys like Betts, who we know can turn a game. His spot is only going to come into question if we are playing a team who doesn't have strong small forwards in their mix.

Win a few games early and we should smash 40k!

Looks like it's all sold out now Dammit I loath that stadium. Was there last night for Adele. Thanks to the poor design it took 1 hour to walk from gate 7 to the train station. Total joke.

Devastating news for him. Really cruel turn of events. I hope he has a full recovery and comes back next season. Sadly though, I think his career is probably over. So sad!

I just don't get that. Jetta was our best and most consistent defender last year. Why is he on the outer now? I get that we have some fancy foot users in the half back line now, but somebody down there actually needs to know how to defend, and Jetta is a top defender! Rarely gets beaten one on one, even against bigger opponents. This one is a mystery to me and one I am not happy about!
