  1. Agreed. Some people are never satisfied. Yes he made a few blunders, but gees he's had a big month rucking so much more than he ever should have, and backed it up by kicking 4 goals yesterday. His kicking is superb, him and Salem are pretty much the only players I want kicking around the ground or delivering the ball inside 50. He's having a great season!
  2. Frost did a good job attacking, but lets not shy away from the fact that if Daniher kicked straight the results would have been vastly different. Frost has to get better at defending. I'm sick of defenders playing like millionaires. I don't care if you gain 900kms a game, if your opponent is having 8 shots on goal! This is why Jetta is so important to our backline. He actually DEFENDS!
  3. I tend to agree because our team has had big swings and changes every round this season. However, JHK has had two games and by god he is a plodder. Dropped chest marks and fumbles galore. No idea why we dropped Stretch, but he kept his spot. Same goes for Melksham, but I am resigned to the fact that he will never be dropped, no matter how hard he works to give the opposition the ball! Anyone has any inside info re: Hogan? Will he play?
  4. Has the best attitude of anyone on the field. He knows he's an average skilled player, but he plays within his limitations and leaves nothing on the field. I thought he was fantastic in the ruck, I think at one point he had more hitouts to advantage than his opponent. But regardless, he gave us a contest, he competed and ran hard around the ground, he is a pretty clever player and a good mark. Most importantly he came in and played a role perfectly, and allowed us to keep our structures. First time since Round 1 Watts didn't need to do much rucking and he kicks a bag. No coincidence!
  5. Vince in the middle is great for two reasons. He's a good midfielder and it stops it from turning it over in the backline. Winning! Tom's best game in a year I reckon
  6. Things I've learnt watching this game from the skies at Etihad 1. The TV screens they think are useful are not. I have a bigger tv in my bathroom. Thanks for nothing. 2. Melksham is a double agent who is secretly trying to make us lose games 3. Salem, Watts, Lewis- there's no substitute for class and kicking ability 4. Tyson- just no. His kicking is not even under 6 standard 5. JHK fumbles galore. Goodbye 6. Pedo always comes in and does his best to play a role. And he did. And he helped us win today. Very happy for him! 7. Jetta so deserving of a win for this milestone game 8. Etihad is the worst stadium. The food and facilities in a third world country stadium would beat it hands down
  7. Vince is a disgrace. Time to retire. Our kicking is VFL level. Pathetic.
  8. We are making way too many unforced changes this year. There's a lot to be said for a settled team and injuries aside, I feel like Goodwin is playing Yoyo with team selections this season. Why the hell drop Stretch?
  9. I've been critical of Jesse's behaviour on the field, but it's so hard to judge someone who knows he is days away from losing their parent, so for that I apologise. Who knows what Sam Rowe said to him, maybe he had a dig about his dad? I would hope not. Regardless, I am 10 years older than Jesse and I would be an absolute mess if I lost one of my parents. I can't image how hard it must be, especially living away from them. It explains why Jesse was so torn about staying or going. Who wouldn't want to be near their family at a time like this? I hope Jesse takes all the time and gets all the closure he needs, and I hope that footy helps him in a way to find happiness and purpose in life after this terrible event.
  10. Fantastic effort for one of our bravest, hardest working, most consistent and unassuming players, who worked his way from oblivion to one of the first picked each week (despite silly pre-season rumours). Here's to 100 more!
  11. Provide a contest, allow us to keep our forward structure, try to help the mids by getting your own ball occasionally (as Watts does), and most importantly not get immediately injured upon stepping foot on the field.
  12. Very sad news, for Jesse and his family. My condolences to them all. Hope he takes the time he needs and comes back stronger and more motivated. I am sure his family and the club will do whatever they can to support him.
  13. I liked that Jayden showed enough respect not to wear the headband during the ceremony pre-match. Then bang he put it on, and had a great game. What a star! Gotta love a player who has the talent to match a great personality (like Max).
  14. Even if say Garland was fit, it would give us more flexibility with Frost and Tom to take the ruck. But with Garland and Smith injured, even our defensive stocks are looking very thin. And again, none of these injuries would bother us, if our best and arguably most important player didn't go down. Max is irreplaceable, especially now. Crap luck!
  15. We are in real trouble without a ruckman, more because of how it impacts our structure. If we can maintain our structure by maybe having Pederson or King ruck the majority of the game, and we stop losing good players to injuries (especially during games), we are a chance to win most of these. We will get smashed in Adelaide, and I hope this doesn't destroy our confidence.
  16. I'm glad Trac is ok but gees you have to feel for Spencer. This was the chance of his career and by the time he's fit again Max will be pushing back for selection. Terrible luck. Also we are [censored].
  17. How many teams have 3 mature experienced rucks on their list? We are unlucky but we are not dumb.
  18. You realize someone down back actually needs to defend yes? Not everyone is a rebounding defender.
  19. Agreed. I thought his first quarter was great then he disappeared. Hard to tell if it's injury that has slowed him down. He's going to be fine. We have bigger issues, like how at this rate I'm gonna ruck next week all 5'6 of me.
  20. Must eat many burgers between now and next ruck contest. Will likely snap in half. Unlike.
  21. To be fair we were hot garbage in 2013 and 2014 and 2015 so that's kinda harsh on Tom! I do however believe that Frawley leaving has really put us back. Our backline hasn't been the same since and neither has Tom.
  22. Anyone wanna guess how long Spencer will miss with an AC joint? Gees we have rotten luck as a club!
  23. A shattering loss and I am definitely not someone who makes excuses, but we were stuffed without rotations and no ruckman for 3 quarters. I do worry very much that defensively we are really regressing. We've let oppositions score far too many easy goals this year. Also Hogan looks to be off with the fairies. Don't tell me it wasn't a night for forwards, look at Reiwoldt's game. Hogan just plays for the frees. He owed us big time and he was next to useless. Disappointing. It feels like our season is slipping away and with possibly no ruckman now for who knows how long, we might be cooked.
