Rather than a new thread, I found on the club website that reserved seat holders now have ailes 46, 47, 48, 1, 2, 3 and 4 set aside for walk up seating. IE, behind the goals at the river end, probably the worse seats on level 1. At least they have capitualted somewhat.

Ok so from this news in the gossip column we can deduce that Daryl Timms reads Demonland, or got the work experience kid to whilst he went to a long lunch.

It's a home game, entry is included for all members including 3 and 5 game members, assuming they haven't already used their entitlement.

You'd hope so, Ch 10 news on Friday said we were staying the night there. Maybe that was the problem, I think that is unnecessary.

After being crook all week I ventured down, coughing and spluttering all the way on the train to glares from other passengers. Grabbed a bite to eat and settled in to watch the last qtr or the VFL. I don't have much of a connection to Casey because for me they're basically the Springvale with some of our players in their team, thy're not "my team" so to speak. (The VFA/ VFL has been ruined but that's for anothr time.) Found a seat in GA, which was nice, was expecting to stand; above the cheersquad and settled in. Could see it would be bad after the first few minutes, but not as bad as it became. I don't wish to analyse the game on here, just pass some comments on the day. Felt sick when the cheer squad was going nuts at the end of the 2nd qtr. What was all that about, I'm not one who boos the team off, but carrying on like we'd kicked the match winning goal in a gf is a poor look when we're down by 120 pts. (If I have misinterpreted this can someone let me know.)Oh and on the cheersquad, is one side of the banner always given over to advertising? Looks crap and sends a poor message, meanwhile, I like that we still use a fully paper banner. Stayed to the end, left my seat though as had to dash off to the gents, near the end, watched the ast few mins from the stairwell. Oh and they need some decent lights there or change to a yellow ball when it gets that dark. Didn't watch them come off, made a beeline for the train. Saw Green on the 5th Qtr, had some weird half smile/ smirk on his face. Very strange.

I'm happy to stand and realise that enrty is subject to capacity in GA. I have used an away membership at KP in the past and just got in early. Last game I went to there was when we drew (2006), I was able to prebook at Ticketmaster as an away member and just pay a booking fee. I do realise this was 5 years ago and as I get older things were always much better back in the day.

I have just realised that the Geelong game is considered by the club to be "intrestate" and as such my 17 game membership does not give me entry. Given that most away games at the G I go with an MCC member I was counting on the Geelong game and Etihad games to get value from my membership. Another joke from the MFC. Looks like I'll go back to 11 games next year.

I was surprised when the crowd was posted as 39k, I thought it was around 33k at best, MCC was thin on the bottom deck and GSS which I would think was GA today looked like Swiss cheese, yellow and full of holes.

Saves us a few bucks as the ground hirer. Often wonder why the MCG don't do it more often, say close southern and Ponsford level 3 for low drawing games. I remember back in the 90s they did close the entire Ponsford stand for some games which looked terrible on tv and at the ground.

I sent the club an email this morning and have received a response: So looks like we'll have to get used to it. I suppose it's no diffeent to playing home games at Optus Oval in the 90s, mind you those were often against Melbourne based clubs, and back then ordinary members got to use the Carlton Social Club stand and facilities at no extra charge.

Just received an email from the club, Level 3 will not be opened, GA is on Level 1. So the pockets on Level 1 will be packed with the wing set aside for reserved seat holders who don't actually get a reserved seat at this game unless they're willing to part with $17.

I just had us finishing second with 14.5 wins 140%. Double chance would be nice.

Now I didn't hear this but I did hear Peter Walsh I think mention of it during the call that Schwab had been on pre match and mentioned that we want to play two consecutive games in Darwin going into the bye ( will there be that split round back next year?). Has anyone else heard anything along those lines? I know Brisbane tried it once for their Perth games one year (slightly different in that they were away games) and I don't think it was a success. Personally I don't think it would be a good idea, presumably we'd play the likes of GWS, GC and PA there. Tonight's crowd wasn't overly big though, that's concerning.
