  1. Was just thinking the same after a bit of ladder predicting. I would be worried about any fatigue after tonight though. Also Carlton might be gettable. I feel we need one of the next 4 as St Kilda,, Essendon and the Bulldogs are winning again and I can see 10.5 wins being just shy of 8th spot.
  2. Oh, just re-read the OP, we can sit in GA behind the goals o level 1? I thought they stopped the GA level 1 a few years ago. Unless we've requested level 3 to be closed, which could make sense. I think 20,000 will see the crowd out.
  3. Why aren't I surprised at this? They would have to be a couple of the dumbest players on AFL lists atm.
  4. I'm sure it's not 100% the club's fault. But it stinks, I'm sure my membership wasn't reduced by the cost of a level 2 reserved seat at the G for one match when I paid for it. I'm sure I've had a reserved seat on lv 1 at Etihad for home games in th past. Away games I'm happy to upgrade and pay the difference for lv 2 at Etihad so I don't think I'm stingy,
  5. 33 Yawla St Bentleigh. It is about midway bewteen the 64 tram and Bentleigh station, so whatever is easier from where you're coming. Might be worth checking it out on a map if you haven't been before.
  6. Not this year but had a ball last year. Thought about it a couple of days ago but airfares were anything but cheap by then and need to be home on Monday.
  7. Just heard Dwayne Russel on 3AW ask a (clearly) young tallback caller if he was old enough to give him a beer prize, when the boy said no the idiot then offered him a betting voucher. Ok so made in jest (I hope) but seriously, what an idiot. Maybe he can write a kids book about how fun gambling is.
  8. Keep hearing quarter back trying to creep in every now and then, please God no, keep it away.
  9. That really is an ordinary response. I'd take it up with the Bulldogs, the MFC since they oprate Deesbet, the AFL sincethey seem to be sanctioned or listening to Jon Faine, he seems to like a bit of a crusade against sportsbetting and has no need to worry about station sponsors. My link. Maybe even your Federal MP, not sure if the new legislation would cover the handing out of promotion material.
  10. I agree, I'm just forseeing the limp wristed response from the Bulldogs blaming a faceless third party.
  11. The girls wouldbe from a moddelling/ pr/ marketing agency, if you could find out which one, send them an email. Miht be worth a phone call to a redio station too, the more embarassment for them the better.
  12. Very sad news, one of the gams gentlemen and a pleasure to wacth on the feild as a young Dess supporter.
  13. Not a fan of sitting up the top either because of this, but I do and haven't had a problem so far. I don't know that it is any steeper than the MCG top decks. I'll take a protractor along to a few games.
  14. Should not be allowed to play VFL, bit of a joke really, I suspect he'd get paid something for that whereas he wouldn't get match payments if he were suspended. Out of character? No, racism is not our of character in my book. Oh and Grant Thomas made me cringe when he kept referring to the indgigenous community on Footy Classified last night. Hands up who wants to point out where Nigeria is on a map...
  15. Having been involved with stadium catering in the past I can shed some light on food and beverage prices. Net profit runs at around 10%, pretty slim margin. Staff are paid award rates they're not family members at the local milk bar. Rent is very high, around 20% of revenue. Food is often brought at a much higher cost than supermarkets sell for. Beer is actually sold at about the recommeneded retail price, people conveniently forget they are getting schooners and not pots. I'm not supporting what they charge, but giving it some perspective, also Etihad ans MCG are pretty close in pricing. I find the food offer at the G much better though, my latest favourite are the kebabs!
  16. It's only two stations from me, I don't need to change trains at Flinders St, catch a tram or walk 15mins like I do to the MCG. Maybe I should boycott MCG games because I find getting there inconvenient. Not all Melbourne supports actually live in the east and south east.
  17. That's the way I heard it, hopefully your interpretation was closer than mine. Not really a joking matter either way.
  18. And the more our suppotes don't turn up to games at Etihad the more we'll be fixtured there owing to lower attendances, we got lucky in playing the Bombers and Blues at the g this year. I don't particulary enjoy going to games there either, but I support my team whereever they play inVictoria and if I can interstate on my meagre funds.
  19. One bloke rang up 3aw and was threatening to kill himself - it's a game of football. Hopefully just an attention seeker. Actually, they shouldn't have put that to air, I presume they're in 7 sec delay for talkback. Lifeline: 13 11 14
  20. I didn't hear any booing, a bit of a jeer when he missed a goal at the city end, but no more than any other player gets. I've actually enjoyed watching Brad play at Richmond this year, considering he was over with us. Have met him a few times and as most who have, can endorse the comments he is a top bloke.
  21. Saw a photo in the Age of Jurrah from last week, both his wrists were heavily strapped. Anyone have any ideas as to whether this could be an injury, speaking to a physio it seems an unusual preventative strapping.
  22. I complained a few years ago to the club regarding opposition supports in members' areas. The response was that to masimise revenue and attendance th club sold back unsold seats to the ticketing agency for reasale. Sitting in Tridents today doesn't seem to happen up there and looking across to the M14-15 GSS seemed to be all red and blue with empty seats around (albeit fewer than normal). As for supporter behaviour, kinda getting over the poor form of some of our own members. I thought today we played to our game plan, albeit very poorly It's been a while since screaming KICK IT, was relevant at the football, we clearly play our best football through the corridor which means we need players forward or streaming forward of the ball. If you have major issues with the way the team is playing football, put pen to paper or finger to keyboard and hammer the football department, not my eardrums with your inane comments and abuse towards our players. There is a line and I heard it crossed a bit too often today.
  23. Any kids want to send him their pcoket money?
