Seriously though, this O'Meara has had a lot of hype that he has to deal with, and he can't even play until 2013!

Lol, another trade week will fly bye and MFC won't do anything much by the looks of it.

Jon Ralph noted on HS website (when reviewing each team in relation to the trade period) that Green will sign, it is just a "formality" at this stage. In other words, they are ironing out the chinks in the contract.
-
Also considering getting the basic package + the football. The basic package is about $43 per month, plus $18 for the additional sports channels. That said, $61 per month adds up over a year!
-
A good write up, but a bit meaningless to assume we will take him at pick 36. A lot can happen in 35 picks.
-
I think we can mostly agree that he seems like a great bloke, but wasn't a particularly great coach.

GWS have to trade the four 17 year olds though, don't they?

9 out of the top 15 picks for GWS, and the same thing next year too. Add to that extra salary cap room, and their persmission to poach 1 x uncontracted player from each club, and you have a team that will have a premiership cup bought for it within the first decade of the clubs inception in to the competition.
-
Also happy to see him get another gig soon after his sacking. Has gone from assistant coach, to senior coach, back to assistant, but still think he has a lot to offer a club.
-
Certainly assembling what looks to be like a really good football department. Let us hope that this translates with big improvements in the playing group, by way of a team that is pushing for a tilt at a premiership in the coming years.
-
Would have to agree; always thought he would have a positive impact, despite him not wanting to take on a long term role with the club.

I was just logged onto the Herald Sun live chat with Jon Ralph, with the topic of trades. He mentioned early on that Green was due to sign soon. Actually, he may have said months, but sounds like he will soon eventually!

Bloody fantastic having a link on homes screen now.

Excellent work Demonland. Looks and runs a treat. As an aside, I haven app called 'Tapatalk' that essentially scales down a forum for use on an iPhone. Is it possible to register this site with that app? Obviously, I have no idea of what is involved but thought it worth an ask.

I can't see myself playing now, this knee is troubling me and your comment about private health insurance reminded me that I don't have any and perhaps risking injury for the sake of a forum footy game is not the best idea. Will more than likely come down to help though

Jack Watts panelist on The Footy Show tonight
Samsara replied to The Chazz's topic in Melbourne Demons
I like the Footy Show. Not a serious take on footy (plenty of other shows exist for that), but fun nonetheless. -
I have used the new site on several mediums (Mac Book Pro, PC w/ Windows XP Professional, and iPhone) and it looks pretty good on all of them for me!

Jack Watts panelist on The Footy Show tonight

I think he will be great, look forward to watching it. -
I liken the Tom Scully situation to being on Deal or No Deal and having the $200,000 and 50c case left. You can take the easy option and walk away with about $100,000, even though you really wanted to nab the $200k. The alternative is going for the $200,000 but being left with the monkey (50c), which is just painful. In the end, no deal was the best option.

Apparently Jack Watts will appear on The Footy Show tomorrow night too.

2012 can't come quick enough, hey? The unknown factor is really exciting and I am pretty optimistic about actually becoming a good team again soon.

Another key St Kilda figure David Misson walks out on Saints. Not sure who he is, but this article suggests that we have poached ex-StKilda fitness manager, David Misson, from St Kilda. Anybody got more insight into David, or even the role of a fitness manager? Obviously an important role, being involved fitness, training, and rehabilitation Seeing as the Saints have been in three GF's in last couple of years, probably a good poach.

I just posted it somewhere else, but I would like to see Green given at least another year. He has been a good servant of the club, and he was in great form last year. I think he will sign. He probably doesn't have much chance of getting picked up anywhere else.
-
A good question. Probably still in negotiations at this stage. Neeld will surely have a say in the list too, so it might be a case of negotiating a contract with Green that he is happy with, but also recognises that his time is almost up as a MFC player. Hope he doesn't go the way of Bruce or McDonald. He isn't a great leader, and he didn't have a great season, but he has been a good servant to the club and I hope he goes out on mutually agreed terms and with a solid season. He was AA last year too, so worth persevering with.
