  1. A new poster with a totally unsubstantiated claim. I remember when this all started there were several people (mainly on BF) who were adamant he would sign within a couple of weeks. I am inclined to believe he will leave, but would be stoked if he stays. I certainly harbour no resentment against the boy; despite having done so (a bit) in the past. I won't deny that I want him to stay and hope he does so!
  2. I was very disappointing in the second quarter yesterday, but was impressed with the rest of the game beyond that. We had all the play in the first, but couldn't capitalise. We easily won the third, and with a few results going our way, could have cut the margin to a very achievable target going into the last. Some of our skills were deplorable at times, but most players tried hard all day and it was unfortunately the senior players that once again left it all up to the youth. rpfc, you have been harping on about our senior players all year, and I fully understand your position now. If we had some good leaders (this is mainly aimed at Green, Davey, Sylvia [when things are tough]), we would be very close to playing finals this year. You can't help but be a little exciting about our future with some of the kids we have, even if this year has dealt out a fair share of disappointments progress wise.
  3. In the past was totally against this idea but am slightly more open to it with a contract similar to the one described in the OP. What I do know is that a good team has a balance of youth and experience. At the moment, we have some exciting and promising youth, but our experienced players are letting us down greatly.
  4. Is this a rhetorical question?

    FINALS

We play gold coast twice this year so if we end up on 10.5 wins, that's really only 8.5 in my book. The nature of our losses too have been bad and do not deserve to play finals
  6. I am going with an Eagles supporter mate so if there is a punch on during the match, I expect you all to come and join in and help me.
  7. He has and will continue to fight on valiantly. A great man.
  8. Chris Scott got the easiest gig in coaching history. I could coach Geelong and they would still perform as they do. Well, maybe not quite, but you get the picture.
  9. When he signs either way, the focus on this forum will not be his decision per se, but more along the lines of 'told you so'.
  10. Typing one handed!
  11. Clutching at straws still me thinks. I mean, if Scully was a bit unsure still, I cannot possible see how the last few weeks wouldn't have tipped him towards GWS. If he was worried about being in a poorly performing team up there, they probably won't ever go close to losing by 31 goals. There is far to much drama and conflict within the club right now, and even senior players (Sylvia) are rumoured to be considering jumping ship. I just cannot see Scully wearing the Red and Blue next year; he will be in the horrible orange and charcoal or whatever it is.
  12. People don't still seriously think he is going to stay do they?
  13. I'm going!
  14. I agree, need to keep him.
  15. Was a great response from last week! We have well and truly gone backwards from last year.
  16. Pathetic club, ashamed to support such a bunch of talentless hacks. I like watts feel sorry for him playing with such a dud team
  17. [censored] weather but looking forward to seeing how they respond
  18. Players don't even want to play at the club, doesn't bode well for ever winning a premiership. Meh.
  19. Get well Jim, an inspirational man on and off the football field. Through the darkest times in recent years, you have been a beacon of hope. Your commitment to this club through a time of personal hardship has been unheralded. Your fighting spirit embodies everything this club can only hope to be in the future; a future that would have been all but impossible without you. Focus on getting yourself well Jim. You have gone far beyond what anybody could have asked.
  20. I understand your point mate, but I have had it with this club after the last week or so. The only bloody person at the club* who seems to give a [censored] is a very sick man who should be focusing on his health. If the leadership group had a tenth of the heart of Jimmy, we wouldn't be in this situation. *There others, but I will generalise a bit here.
  21. 100% correct, but we never seem to get this do we?
  22. Just read on BG that - according to a posted who cited Gerard Healy - a few senior players will be seeking trade at the end of year. Probably not unexpected given what has happened as of late.
  23. Have a [censored] crack you weak bastards.
  24. I can't see Scully staying given everything that happened. We did just get beaten by 31 goals. That is worse then GC or GWS will do in thier infancy. It would take a miracle to keep him at this stage.
  25. Wife is on fire mate
