  1. Read the Carlton Hall of fame write up:- John James Playing Career : 1953 - 1963 Debut : Round 1, 1953 vs Footscray, Aged 19 years, 90 days Carlton Player No. 664 Games : 195 Goals : 31 Last Game : Round 18, 1963 vs Footscray, Aged 29 years, 231 days Guernsey No. 10 Height : 175 cm (5 ft. 9 in.) Weight : 80.75 kgs (12 stone, 10 lbs.) DOB : January 18, 1934 Best and Fairest: 1955, 1960, 1961 Brownlow Medallists: 1961 Team of the Century Carlton Hall of Fame (1987) One of the games' great defenders, "Johnny" James was a Carlton legend. Though just 175 cm tall, he was highly skilled, tenacious and a spectacularly strong mark. In 195 games over eleven seasons (1953 to '63) he won Carlton's Best & Fairest three times (1955, 1960 & 1961) as well as the 1961 Brownlow Medal.
  2. John James of Carlton won the brownlow in 1961 as a half-back flanker
  3. In the end the medical people and recruiting people will have to evaluate Toumpas. If he's a good as he has been touted and medically ok then there is no better choice at number 4. For us to evaluate someone from clips is poor because they always show only his best performances not what he does when he's having a off day.
  4. Bohdan is no longer with the MFC
  5. Owen was supposed to be the next Ron Barassi, as a ruck rover and was just a dud.
  6. The sign is I threaded the eye of a needle.
  7. The purchase of a country family membership would create one transaction not 3
  8. History proves handshake deals with Carlton means nothing remember Greg Wells Deal?
  9. Jonathan Brown who is one of the best CHF in the game never won the Rising Star Award. Watts may never win the award either but he still may become a great CHF for Melbourne ala Jonathan Brown.
  10. I guess that most supporters look at the result and see a poor performance but when your team has 20 players on the side lines then creating a team is very difficult and they cannot get a run where the team list is no change like the top teams. If you total the number of injuries for collingwood carlton essendon and the bulldogs then they have aproximatly the same number of players out as melbounre. This is one of the reason we were poor and melbourne cannot or do not play at docklands well ever.
  11. If Grimes happens to win the brownlow they cannot give it to Rich? If he has 8 BOG performances even if we lose every game he must be a chance to win the rising star award. Any way the rising star award usually is awarded to midfielders, Buddy Franklin did not win the award Delidio did and look at there performances from that point onwards.
  12. Kennedy was not a defender but a ruckman.
  13. Chris Judd went to Caulfield Grammar
  14. I think only one stat matters in any team sport whether you win or lose, the final score.
  15. The reason an extra player is taken is one of the players maybe injured during training whilst over there or during the warmup before the team sheets are submitted. Thus a player is always on standby whenever the team travels interstate.
  16. The rule is a team gets the priority pick before the 1 round if they dont win more than 8 matches over a two year period ala carlton(2007). If you win less than 5 games in a season you get a priority pick at the end of the first round ala richmond (2007).
  17. We will get pick 1 & 2 if we win 3 games or less.
  18. Daniel Kerr of WC is 178cm and 78kgs.
  19. The only reason to get angry is CAC had just signed a 3 year contract, now wishes to break his contract and leave the club, where is the integrity <_< .
  20. The players who are uncontracted but on the teams list before the the november national draft, cannot enter the draft but may enter the pre-season draft. The pre-season draft originally was in February and all contracts expired on the 31st of December. The AFL just moved the draft so players could do pre-season training with their desired clubs. The teams can also nominate players they are drafting in the pre-season draft provided the teams before them don't object to their selection. Hudson has requested to be traded to WB but if his trade does not eventuate WB has pick 4 in the pre-season draft, if Richmond, Carlton and Melbourne specify they will not draft him he can sign and train with WB after the November National draft, unless Adelaide delist him before the draft then any team can draft him with their picks.
