When your 79kg and playing in the KPD then your one-on-one is going to be poor, when he bulks up he will be ok

Which song best captures our win against Hawks?
durango replied to MrBurns's topic in Melbourne Demons
simply the best -
No matter whether Jack Watts is captain or not his last 5 minutes in the game was sensational watching his delivery to Pederson and Tyson twice for goals was the reason we were able to celebrate the win.

I grew up watching that era of great Melbourne teams, The 1960 grand final was the best because the weather was dreadful and we kept Collingwood to a record low score for a Grand Final, I think Collingwood kicked it first score a goal in the second quarter and finished up kicking 2 points in the last quarter.

I read in this morning Herald Sun Sports pages that Hunt signed a new contract to 2018? There seem to be no confirmation of this on the MFC Web site?

Who is likely to move into Goodwin's seat at years end?
durango replied to SPC98's topic in Melbourne Demons
I believe the intention was to use McCartney as a line coach and mentor, see the coaches on the MFC web site -
For those people who are old enough Christian reminds me of a young Ron Barassi with his strut and powerful thighs. I don't wish to put the player under pressure to emulate the great RB but if he works hard he has the talent to emulate his record as being one of MFC greats. I remember when RB started he had the talent and drive but was tried in a number of positions on the field before his role as a ruck rover at 5ft 10in which was considered short. RB greatest asset was his drive to be the best, hopefully CP5 has that drive.

Jim Tilbrook had very poor eyesight and played for Sturt with a wing man who used to put the ball down his throat (his surname was Light), Petracca has a body which I would liken to Russel Richards who just came to Melbourne to get some money for his farm and not to play football. So long as he has the passion and the application Petracca will be a player in the mould of Josh Kennedy or Tim Watson. As a player so long as you have the talent and are willing to work hard and put the effort in getting the best out of your self them sky the limit.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 5, 2016
durango replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Supporters should trust that the Football Department is doing what is best for the player and the club. By playing young players too early in their development they may crash and burn ending up like Blease, Gysbert and Morton -

durango replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Well we finally won two in a row? -
Look at the picture of Max King leaping to take a tap and the man holding the bag is 200+ cm. Provide he can put on some weight Max will be a great ruckman/foward

If we don't win a flag before 2107 then very few over 20 will see another flag, but I think you ment to write 2017.

I went to one training session this year and in 2013. The intensity and skill level was like chalk and cheese. I must congratulate the coaching staff for this change and hope it will translate into wins?

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
durango replied to Freddy Fuschia's topic in Melbourne Demons
Lots of good junior footballers who get drafted, never make it because some are just too lazy. They think that after getting drafted to an AFL list, their talent is enough to win them a spot on the AFL team. Clayton Oliver on the other hand has worked hard at getting his body ready for the combine after playing a season of underage football little overweight. He was made aware of the fact that he was overweight and he took it upon himself to do something about it. Players like Blease, Morton, Gysbert and Sylvia did nothing and hoped that their talent was enough. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MITCHELL KING
durango replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
From the limited vision of this player he is a true tap ruckman and has the ability to run both ways which is a trait that will put him in good stead. I believe he will in time be the second best ruckman behind Gawn at the MFC? -
Parish is a very strong young man if he helps his father shear sheep? Since he was brought up on a farm he learn a very important life lesson, hard work never hurt anyone.

The new order has us picks 45 and 49 ? I cannot understand why this has happened? Can anyone explain

I would not be surprised if they recruit Burton at 7? Who might be the next Jake Springer

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JOEL SMITH
durango replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
Anybody who is about 1.93 metres and can run sub 2.80 seconds for 20 metres is seriously fast. -
I think this trade period was very good, with the news of signing a Rookie B (Joel Smith), the rating Wallace gave was an A- maybe he would have amended that to an A had he know that a new wrinkle had occured.

Geelong claimed Mark Blicavs via the rookie B list -
I would not pick Weiderman since he will be like Howe and try to get to Collingwood asap, it is in his DNA.
