  1. "We're heading in a straight line. If you want to deviate from that line, go to Carlton-- Go wherever".
  2. I'd love to see Black in a Dees guernsey, but there is a 0% chance of it. I'm very curious to know who is on Neeld's radar though, given that he has declared we aren't in on Cloke.
  3. And what an appropriate note it will be to end our 2012 season on...
  4. The problem is that we have so many players that could fall into that 'worst 5'. We're not going to be able to get rid of all our passengers in one go.
  5. Was already a big fan of Jones, so I guess he doesn't really count. I've been impressed by Clark, Blease (in spurts), Howe and Watts. It would be interesting to compare this thread to one about "Who You Have Lost Faith In This Year"...I suspect the latter's list would be much longer.
  6. I live in Canada and I think we get the same broadcast deals. We're lucky to get one Dees game a season on live TV. Online is the way to go.
  7. That's awesome, AD! I don't know if you're interested or not, but there are many teams in the USAFL which you could join if you were looking to play some footy. International footy is growing rapidly and new teams are always being formed, so I'm sure there'll be one near you. Even if you're not interested in playing it's good to get out and watch some footy live every now again if you can
  8. 1. Clark 2. Jones 3. Frawley 4. Watts 5. Grimes 6. Howe 7. McDonald 8. Rivers 9. Jamar 10. Martin
  9. Rivers is a UFA... don't think that we can trade him.
  10. I never thought this day would come. Hallelujah!
  11. I feel for Ricky and I hope that if he gets delisted by us he gets a shot with another team. He's never lived up to the promise that he showed in Round 2, 2010 against the filth. If only he could have held that mark...
  12. If I see Green and McDonald running around in orange and grey next year I will be very disappointed. I hope that Green left on his own terms and was not shown the door.
  13. I usually am able to enjoy just about every game we play. Even if we're losing, I can find some sort of positive to make the game somewhat enjoyable. I've watched every game from the past 5 seasons in it's entirety (yes, that includes 186), however, this season has just become too much. I was very optimistic during the preseason and even up to about round 4, but now I just want a break and don't want to see the Demons take to the field until they have a radically changed list. Bring on 2013....
  14. I like your post extra just because your display name is fantastic.
  15. I would've thought that we'd be keen to keep Rivers. Maybe it's him who has put negotiations on hold? I'd be very p*ssed off if Neeld didn't think he deserved another contract. I'd give Sellar another year, and wait to see how Bartram's operation goes. I'm not surprised Davis isn't in discussions... two years on the list and he has barely made an impression. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him go. It'll be interesting to see what Geelong offer up for the Gys. Definitely worth listening to them. Jurrah's future obviously depends on his court case. Does anyone know when a verdict is expected to be reached? Or would we have to decide whether or not to re-sign him before the case is over? I think we'll keep one of Macdonald and Dunn...toss a coin to see which one it is. Bennell, Moloney, Petterd, and Bate can go.
  16. There is every chance that I am wrong here, but I don't get the impression that Green is being pushed out the door. All season long he has said that he would play out the year to the best of his abilities and see how he felt in terms of playing in 2013. I think his struggles with injury and form this season have highlighted to him that it is time to move on, and his form in recent weeks will help him to leave the game on somewhat of a high note. He and Neeld apparently have had weekly discussions regarding his future at the club, and I think it is likely that they both agreed that if he were to press on that he would probably be back and forth between the VFL and AFL. I'm sure that they laid down all the possibilities that could occur with each scenario (retiring now versus pressing on), and I think that Green has stated that he is the type of player and person that would not want to end his career being a liability to the team or languishing away in the VFL. This being said, with the departure of Green it is vital that we sign Rivers and obtain (an)other mature player(s) either through trade or free agency. Someone like Chapman, Sewell, even a Boak or Cloke, that could help bring a veteran presence to the team and help lead our young list.
  17. Thanks for being such a great and loyal player for the Dees, Greeny. Too bad you were never able to get that premiership, but I hope that you'll get to see one in the next few years.
  18. Great to see 2 more golds added. Pearson is incredible!
  19. I don't think that I've ever looked forward to a season ending before this year.
  20. That article mentions putting Bate in the middle and Dunn in the backline as questionable decisions. We haven't come under the same type of scrutiny for playing them in those positions this year! It also bothers me that the Richmond game is the one that everyone thinks of when they talk tanking. We were leading the match when the siren sounded!
