Rumour has it that Martin Brodeur is going to be testing the free agent market on July 1. He'll most likely be joined by his team mate and captain, Parise. I wonder how the NJD will do next year if they lose 2 of their most important players...

I had the same experience. When I was flying down to Australia, there was no LAK merchandise to be found anywhere in LAX. On the return, though, the Kings were the pride of everything in the airport, including Wolfgang Puck! He's been rewarded with a 10 year contract!

No thanks, he seems like a list clogger to me. I'd rather we give the spots on our list to players that have proven that they have a desire to play in the AFL rather than those who take it for granted.

That's a pretty startling statistic. The AFL will have to look into it further and try and rectify it if they want to show any sort of integrity.

It has to happen sooner or later; we've been saying this since Round 1! Maybe Magner will be rested some time soon and Couch will be given a run. If Cook had kicked a couple on the weekend I think he would have been in line for selection, but playing as a key forward in the VFL, he needs to kick a few there every week before he gets the call up.

Not many free agents that are critical pieces of our team. Bate, Dunn, Green, Moloney and Rivers. Other out of contract players are: (I'm not 100% sure if this is accurate, but it seems right) Bail, Bartram, Bennell, Blease, Cook, Davis, Garland, Howe, Jetta, Jones, Jurrah, McDonald, McKenzie, Petterd, Spencer, Strauss, Evans, Nicholson Of those players, I think it is vital that we re-sign Blease, Garland, Howe, Jones, McDonald, McKenzie, Bartram, Bail, Cook and Nicholson and, pending the outcome of his case, Jurrah.

Magner does look like he could use a rest.

I've never been a fan of Dawes...very overrated in my opinion. When he had his best season and kicked 30 odd goals, he was receiving the ball from the likes of Swan, Pendlebury, Didak, etc., and he was taking the oppositions 2nd best back (Cloke took the first). I think Collingwood will be in serious trouble if they lose Cloke and have to rely on this guy to be their #1 FF option.

I remember watching and thinking the same thing. His skills are fantastic.

That is assuming we don't string a few wins together and play ourselves up the ladder a bit (which is quite possible). I do like the idea though. Also, I would be very disappointed if we let GW$ or GC take Viney...I'd rather pay overs and have that sort of player at our club than play hardball and risk not having him at all.

His disposal is definitely improving with each game he plays. I'm a big fan.

He'll get it this week and it will be very well deserved. He was great today and has been very good for the majority of the season.

6- Jones: As usual one of our best players. I think he's been in my top 6 every week. 5- McDonald: Should get a Rising Star nomination this week, he played a fantastic game. 4- Watts: Composed and looking every bit like a star in the making. 3- Sylvia: His best performance this season, but can he back it up? 2- Rivers: 4 goals from an unfamiliar position; took over Clark's role perfectly after he was subbed out. 1- Clark: One of the best quarters of football I have seen by a Demon in several seasons. Hopefully he'll be back in next week.

Very impressed with Tom McDonald so far.

Davey did a beautiful kick to Garland which set up Rivers' second, but he needs to provide more of a contest when the ball comes to ground in the forward line.
