  1. Absolutely agree. With both Howe and Sylvia I have this video going in my head of Roos mouthing the words "he is a valuable member of the team and a required player of the Melbourne Football Club" whilst quietly un-packing and neatly folding away the footy gear from locker no.s 12 & 38
  2. How do you feel about getting Brayshaw? Whilst he's not playing at the moment I bet the footy dept would make that deal all over again if given the choice.
  3. 1.10 start gives me ample reason not to start any jobs around the house. A 4.40 one means I really have no excuse to not to get something of substance done. I'm not a fan of the 4.40 kick off
  4. That is a very good idea and may actually work
  5. It's OK Oli, we have O Mac
  6. I reckon a foot race to the ball between Hunt and Rohan along the wing in a few rounds time may get Bruce McAnveney's pulse racing
  7. A key signing. My favourite player. Best fun to watch and now we'll get to do so for at least another 3 seasons. Im very happy
  8. Agree with ins. And assume the youngsters to come will be the ones the Club feels least likely to run out the entire match after a 6 day break i think I'm in a group of one but I wouldn't be too surprised to see Kent omitted too
  9. Because he is a lousy forward?
  10. 1956 Melbourne beat Collingwood by 12 goals in front of 115,000 at the G. How good would have that been? And it made it two years in a row over the Pies. Can only dream of such things
  11. What about Dangerfield, DA? .... Same height, similar weight, both explosive, goal kicking mids, great hands, one has won games off his own boot and the other surely will
  12. They should sit Hogan down and watch On the Couch's analysis of the Freo list and where it may be in two years time. It is fairly unimpressive. Can't see them enticing too many players their way (Im ignoring the fact that Gerard said Cam McCarthy was a potential A grader and thus devaluing their argument)
  13. Obviously if Gray is gone for the week that would be handy for us. I know little of Tom Jonas though. Anyone with more knowledge than me know how he's playing of late and if he would be a big out for them?
  14. I not a Sydney fan but I so hope Hawks get done by 100 points.
  15. Garland is the last of those mentally scarred players. I have liked him al to over the years but it is time to say goodbye
  16. Tough, good enough in the air, good size and has that take your breath away speed. Most importantly as well as having a top speed to rival the quickest blokes in the league Hunt's first few steps gets him clear of congestion in most cases. See him as part of our young gun squad who it is easy to see play finals footy. And he is fun to watch. PS Here's to hoping he goes one better with us than the great uncle Harold's 4 on the trot with the Pies
  17. I wouldn't go that far but as much as I hate to admit it he is definitely, genuinely a slightly above average mid these days.
  18. I know what you mean but think you are a week early. Reckon the players will have really set themselves for this one. A win will prove we are on the up and to be taken seriously. And then next week there will be a fair bit of "oh my poo actually doesn't smell" We will then get hammered by Brisbane.
  19. We are in the 8? Fantastic! Blow the siren and let's start finals. Think next Saturday we play GWS at the G. Who plays on Cameron?
  20. I think he should be given a shot. Stringer isn't brilliant in the air and perhaps Wagner may come closer than anyone else at ground level. Having said that he is too good to be held completely in check and he will need a team effort just to minimise his output
  21. The Bulldogs are just getting away with an undermanned back half because the ball isn't going down there too often. Last week Adelaide only had 37 inside 50s (kicking 17 goals). The Bulldogs had 68. We had a whopping 75 against the Suns. In other words the Crows didn't get many opportunities to score but when they did, they did. Watts was saying in an interview (over on the JV FS thread) that the Bulldogs are No. 1 in the league for contested possessions being +28. If we can even break even on the CP count this will put increased pressure on their backs. Hopefully the most run coming out of the Bullies backline will be from the umpires bringing it back to the centre
  22. A friend knows him through business. He is highly respected but that is probably obvious
  23. I love Oliver as much as the next success starved Melbourne supporter but Jacob Weitering looks truly amazing. To do the stuff he is doing in an under siege Carlton backline is nothing short of phenomenal
  24. Boo Ethan boo, not in a Scully boo way but a boo nonetheless. GNF has had great info in the past and I'm very happy he chooses to share it with us even if not everything eventuates. Particularly happy with his current info as it would be wonderful news for this club if Hogan re-signs and Prestia decides to wear red and blue.
