It is a hard topic to debate. You could argue the difference between last year and this was due to having better players on the park rather than anything to do with leadership. Roos has said on a number of occasions that Nathan Jones' leadership skills have greatly improved in the past couple of years. Obviously you would take his word for that but as a spectator I didn't see any leader type actions over the past couple of weeks when playing finals were on the line.

I think I rate Weitering higher than most here. For me he is doing things no 19 y.o key back should be doing. He is to Carlton what Jesse was to us last year but without the two years development. I would give the rising star to him.

I get the feeling that Tom would be a strong anti performance enhancing drug advocate. The club has publicly stated over time that it will not over-pay a select few to the detriment of list balance. If Jesse does re-sign then it will be at a price that we can afford and not the la-la-land money some in the media have thrown around. He is a cornerstone signing that can only do good things for this club. Now to Tom Mac who I rate as almost as important.

Absolutely agree. Just to get this team to mid table mediocrity is nothing short of miraculous. Whilst we would all prefer not to remember 2013, it does remind us how far we have come. This current Melbourne team would thrash that one. As has been said in other threads Roos is to Goodwin what Barassi was to Northey but hopefully we will go one better

Things happen for a reason; Vince had the type of game that was so very bad you briefly wonder if he had money on us losing. For that he gets a couple of pages on here of fairly mild criticism. Now picture the response if Tom Mac had of had that game...................scary
