On the Couch boys saying that Hogan could be worth $15m over 10 years to another club. Sounds like a lot to me. They did also say Melbourne wouldn't have to pay that as "why would you leave the Demons, they are on their way up"

Don't mind Marchbank but I think too small (193cm) for what we need. Would be interested to know how highly regarded O. Mac is viewed inside the MFC. His standing will no doubt influence our trade/draft period at the end of the year

Josh Kelly?

A terrific interview with a wonderful sportsman. The personification of humility and dedication and the most refreshing antithesis to the Bernard Tomics of this world

Oh, apologies Olisik -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 7
FarNorthernD replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
As for selection if we play like we did against Nth, Richmond and the Pies we will win. If we play like last week we will lose Has way more to do with attitude than one or two players not chosen -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 7
FarNorthernD replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Agree. Trengove strikes me as the type who would take the easy way out. That's probably why he was the youngest ever captain of an AFL club because of his dodgy character. -
Is Tom McDonald tradable at the end of 2016?
FarNorthernD replied to Adam The God's topic in Melbourne Demons
If ever there was a perfect match for Riewoldt in the AFL it is Tom McDonald. He has the height, speed and endurance to go with Nick and has done so before. Everything written about Tom has indicated he is meticulous in his preparation and is the perfect professional. There were a couple of matches prior to 2014 where you could say he had Nicks measure or close to it. When Riewoldt started to run riot surely that would be the time to reorganise the zone defence and get Tom to not leave his side for the rest of the day. There was obviously a good reason why this didn't happen but I'm not sure what it was. As for should if we should keep him or not, of course we should. He is a vital cog in this side with the character to become a multiple AA CHB. We have seen him enough at that standard he just needs to do so more consistently- 176 replies

As my father used to say we played like millionaires expecting someone else to do the work

This is bad but nothing beats the Essendon match

I wonder if the Carlton hierarchy ever think of what could have been; Jeff, Eddie, Josh and the current number 1 ranked player, Jarad would make for a powerful and potent forward line. Love that Melbourne was for on the happy side of a once in a decade deal but the best thing is Garlett is so much fun to watch. Whenever he gets the ball entertainment happens. Love that he is ours, we should keep it hat way

Best story. Thank you DeeZee for passing it on What a brilliant way for Petracca to use his new found AFL fame. Can go one way or the other. Bet he got almost as much out of it as the boy he helped. More power to him.

Where does Chris Dawes fit in all this?
FarNorthernD replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Chris Dawes' future involves study, club admin, club CEO, big business experience and then maybe coming back to run the AFL in twenty years time. Don't think it involves pulling on our club colours too many more times -
Bump The Andrew Leoncelli interview is well worth a listen if you haven't done so already. He doesn't do 'footy speak' and his fairly honest in his views
-
No their signal doesn't make it to FNQ. "Interesting"listening I assume

Oh, and more importantly I think most on here, no longer believe, we need saving
-
For one of the few times I think you have the wrong end of the stick Jack. Yes everyone is excited to see what he can produce as there has been no shortage of footy people making very big calls on him. But I haven't heard any of the saviour mentality more a hope of Petracca being a (rather large) cherry on top.

Yes early days but a shocker so far. Can't work out why and how Freo have fallen so far. They were bordering on great for a lot of last season and now they are very poor. Anyone got any ideas?

AFL 360 asks if Melbourne can make the 8?
FarNorthernD replied to Ron Burgundy's topic in Melbourne Demons
We are the short, fat, nervous, pimply, picked on kid at school who has a late growth spurt. A few years later we rock up to Gerard's 21st a muscled up 6' 4" with a couple of super models in tow. "Steady on. Just steady on," says Gerard as we step over his drunk friend Mark and chat up his sister- 104 replies

And class. He has a fraction of that Pendlebury thing where time stands still until he decides which of the multitude of teammates is in the best position to perfectly deliver the ball to. I think most of us assume that Christian has this in him and it will continue to develop with experience

One game of the year I miss Frawley

Stat over at Demonblog. Of the last 16 times we have gone in as favourites we have won 4. I don't know about you guys but four almost feels too generous

When does Petracca get unleashed?
FarNorthernD replied to The Sailing Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
Petracca reminds me of the cartoon of the nine moods of a golden retriever. There is sad, pleased, pensive, angry, unsure etc and in each of the nine drawings are of the same happy, chirpy looking dog. -
I like Burgs post match interview with Jones Burgs. "So what was it like coming up against your old mate Jeremy Howe" Jones. "Not much was said, he chose to leave" and then Jones just shrugs his shoulders. You get the feeling that this group is fairly tight. To leave it isn't looked upon favourably

I have watched the replay, viewed the post match videos, had beer and wine and read every post on this thread. I can confidently say we are on our way. If I wasn't technically challenged there would be the Sunnyboys singing "I'm a happy man" . In this bit here .
