  1. Maybe i'm being a little naive about what goes on in supporter forums like these but what's the go with starting a thread to bag out a couple of former Dees and rub in the fact that they may have lost their jobs?
  2. Have to agree on Betts and I haven't followed Murphy's season but his stats across the year really do stack up.
  3. I've always felt Warnock would go and probably should go but I probably see it slightly different to you Rhino. I can see Matty being a very useful player elsewhere. It's hard to justify picking a classic full back type like Warnock in a side that likes to load up off half back but I can see him as a pretty handy acquisition for a side that plays a slower contested game. I'm tipping he'll play somewhere else and do it well.
  4. I love Dylan, Neil Young, Paul Simon and more recently Fleet Foxes and Bon Iver have been doing it for me. As for aussies, I love Paul Kelly, Augie March and Tim Rogers goes alright too. This is my own stuff; This is a single we released last week. Go Dees!
  5. It's clear that the Dee's are aiming for a tried coach. Eade is out of the running, in my opinion, as he doesn't have the backing of Gary Lyon. Malthouse would be on the radar and if he coaches next year, I reckon he'll coach Melbourne. As for Dean Laidley, I don't think the club will see him as appeasing the supporters/members thirst for a winning coach and therefore if he doesn't win quickly they'll be baying for blood and we'll be back to square one. Chocco is the wildcard for me, he has a premiership but something makes it hard for me to imagine a great presentation from Chocco. Ross Lyon is a distinct possibility and he's the guy I hope we get but I think he'll continue at St.Kilda. Really hope I'm wrong. I believe the only untried coach that Melbourne will be willing to take on would be Mark Neeld, simply because he's at Collingwood. It's an easier sell to the fans. After all this, I'm going to go with Malthouse, simply because it looks to me as though there are mind games being played between Eddie and Mick. There's got to be unrest for a reason.
  6. I reckon his speed is more of a problem as a forward than it would be as a mid. I can't see him as a midfielder long term but would be worth a crack.
  7. 40 goals from 18 games amd he has had a pretty average sort of year. His potential is mindboggling.
  8. I'm loving Ricky as a mid. His evasive skills are excellent. Would love to see him given more time in there.
  9. I reckon open, free-flowing footy is boring anyway. I'd rather see lots of contested footy. The more tackling and smothering etc., the better the spectacle IMO.
  10. Big call, Cotchin was likely to torch us without Bartram's work and it's not the first time he has shut down the oppositions best this season. Don't you think that, at least for the short term, players with Bartram's determination are invaluable? Sure, others might push him out at a later stage and that's a great thing for our side but for now we need as many guys as we can get who are willing to go in hard.
  11. Only listened on the radio but it sounded like Morton was OK??
  12. Fantastic comparison. The only thing that gets me with Sylvia is that he only gives one effort so if that one effort is good enough he looks great but more often than not it's not enough. I don't want to lose his talent so I'm hoping our new coach demands more of Col and gets more out of him.
  13. I like Clarkson but it's fine line isn't it. If Cam Mooney could kick a football straight, the concensus on this site would be that Clarkson is a failure. I'm worried if this offer is real. Surely there's a process that the club needs to go through before it can make decisions such as these. Hopefully the club doesn't 'over-romanticise' the idea of a premiership coach or worse still sign a certain coach simply to appease the supporter base.
  14. That's a very tough call considering that by all reports there are zero premiership coaches available at this stage.
  15. John is my cousin and looks heaps like my mum. So on that basis, let's not get him.
  16. Agree, no clean out neccessary. There's the makings of a good unit there.
  17. Yep, we need experienced heads.
  18. I'm well aware of that, hence the reason I answered them promptly.
  19. To get someone like Boak we'd have to give up one of our best young players. Watts, Trengove etc. We've got the guys we need in our side, we just need them playing their best footy in a structure that works for our group. Trading away all of our talent is not the answer.
  20. Malthouse really dislikes Jordie Mckenzie. Smashed him all day on SEN.
  21. In answer to your questions. I wouldn't put anything past Mr.Mcguire, considering he's already subtly threatened legal action against his own coach. I also think it would be quite easy to disguise Neeld's promotion as genuine. Maybe the players are aware of the danger Mick Malthouse might pose to their dynasty if he were an opposition coach. It's all conjecture but that's the food of a curious football supporter.
  22. Yeah, good call. It just seems that the players are pretty keen to sell this guy as a head coach.
