As long as it works to get the player up and running. There's no one remedy for improving players performance, it needs to be decided on a player by player basis. Some players need tough love, others might just need a confidence boost. Something tells me Aaron Davey is in the latter group.

His diposal by foot needs to improve but I like the Hird comparison. Does have look about him.

Yeah, that's the most disappointing thing. I'm a big Davey supporter but today was painful to watch. There were some boys out there working extremely hard today and he really let them down.

I don't think anyone was having a go at gamblers or gambling itself. The problem is advertising. You can't watch a game of footy without watching the equivalent of a short film in gambling advertising. Do you think those who have become addicted to gambling should have a constant reminder of how simple it is to sit in a dark room on the internet and anonymously gamble away their lives while they are watching a game football.

Hear, hear. I think it also shows the great job the club has done in making sure the right indigenous players have come to our club and that an environment has been created to sustain those players. The Richmond situation shows that this is not an easy thing to do. It's one side of the club we should be very proud of.

I hated this rule when it first came in but I've grown to like it. I think it adds to the battle of strength and guile in the marking contest. The only problem I can see is the interpratation of the rule by the umpire and of course their ability to pick them up all the time. I think as time goes on players who've grown up with the rule simply won't use their hands and the rule will go unnoticed.

Have to disagree on this one, it's about supporters/members. These clubs are being rewarded for their consistency in terms of support regardless of ladder position.

I think that's a scary thought. Pokie machines have not only resulted in people losing their families and jobs but an addiction can sometimes lead to suicide. To put this aside in favour of football or any other form of entertainment, doesn't sit well with me.

I didn't know that, that is brilliant. I think betting advertising as a whole should go the same way as cigarette advertising. The sheer amount of advertising must make it difficult for those who are trying to recover from this addiction.

Is this true?? I think if you do the math you'll find we need about another 3-4 players on top of what you've suggested to get anywhere near the top half.

We don't have a senior group as such. There's two guys who could be considered 'senior'...hmmm, I guess two is a group. Surely, as supporters, our job is to give ourselves enough hope so as we continue to walk through the gates. If coming up with reasons or excuses, gets us along to the games, in the hope of improvement, then so be it. Is it our job to hire and fire staff with no actual knowledge of what they do on a day to day basis?? If a supporter shows up to games and supports their club, I would suggest they are a good supporter.
