I hated Jake Milkshake for the Bombers but he is a good player

I'm a Danners fan. Sure we were up and down like a yoyo but we made a GF and I still look back at those years fondly. Arguably there was no better person to embark on the challenge that Roos had 3 years ago, but its hard to rank him in overall coaching ranks.

Will do a 'Brendan Goddard' and be one of the best players in the comp over the next few years. People will quickly forget that he has maligned for many years. Have always had a soft spot of Jack, and he's playing great footy this year. Thanks Paul Roos!

GRIMES! About bloody time too!

This topic sums up why i stopped being a regular on demonland. Everyone is soooo critical. T-Mac is our best tall defender and one of the most promising young backs in the comp, but just because he isn't yet a bonafide A grade player group think on demonland is to 'trade the spud'.

Having met Grimes he's one of the best blokes you'll meet and I've always been a fan, but saying that Grimes and Trengove are basically in the same boat in terms of circumstance is a fair way off IMO - Trengove was always a clever mid with a good tank, reliable setshot inside 50 and used the ball well. At his best Grimes was a good half back flank who read the ball well. Trengove's form slump was likely to be injury related before his diagnosis. Grimes has been somewhat consistent over the journey with the current FD obviously feeling that he doesn't have all of the attributes that they want for the positions that he's being asked to play, preferring younger quicker guys on the flanks, and guys with a bit more dash and agility on the wings.

I'm positive about the season as a whole, but in terms of changes this week I'm not sure there are any that will actually effect the result of the match. The Crows are a step above us at this point. and I suspect another week of minimal changes to the side is on the cards given the break

yeah I'm not a fan at all. Yet another step from the AFL looking at other sporting comps for inspiration. I'd love the AFL to put a 3 year freeze on any rule or policy tweaks and just let everyone enjoy the game itself

He's 27, but there is no reason why he cant improve his game. Bernie Vince has taken his game to new levels in recent times so I don't think it should be a case of trade out grimes just because he isn't a instant best 22 player in 2016. All clubs need depth and Grimes is sold and reliable if not slightly flawed. Hoping he plays this weekend and plays well

Garlett will be back before long, but maybe not against the swans on the SCG. I think him being dropped was no more than the FD making a statement to him regarding needing to maintain high standards, rather than any real form issue or concern. I'd love to see Grimes come in for maybe VB or Stretch. Can start on a wing/HF and be used in defence if we're getting hurt back there

My point is that Grimes gets a mention in a lot of articles when he hasn't played a game. Just seems like labouring a point. I understand Burgo's role, but seems like he loves to get Grimes in the mix despite the FD's reluctance to do the same..

Burgo loves Grimes. Always spympathetic to his omission at the selection table in his articles and even asked about him in the latest Roos views video. If he really was out of favour would burgo be allowed to keep harping on about it? Eithet way i get a good chuckle from reading that Grimes has been on the cusp of selection in every second article on the mfc website!

I think its a good move (Dropping Jeffy). Shows him that he needs to maintain his high standards to hold his place. I'll be very happy with selections if Grimes gets a run.

yeah I read in another thread that he has apparently had on-going migraines and what not, related to the concussion. I would assume they're taking an ultra conservative approach.
