Some real critical posts on LJ. I donât think his defensive side of his game is as bad as people are making out.
Neeld is talking the talk â a hard line where he has no time for treating people differently etc. Whilst thatâs all well and good in principal, the reality is that people are not all the same and some people donât react to certain management styles. I really hope that behind closed doors he is a little more tactful in his dealings with people that what we are lead to believe, or at the very least that Leigh Brown and the line coaches can play a bit of a âgood copâ role to Neelds âbad copâ!
The lad's arenât robots, and whether we like it or not some people need to be managed differently to bring the best out of them. A good manager will adapt their style when dealing with certain personality types, so whilst I donât advocate âgoing easyâ on guys like LJ, I really hope Neeld's style doesnât ostracize various players on our list. Whether Neeld likes it or not, LJ is on our list, he's got a heap of talent, and probably needs to be managed in a different manner to say Jones or Moloney? Iâd be interested to hear how RudeBoy thinks LJ will react to a âmy way or the highwayâ style?
