  1. Warnock to come in & reckon Dees can win this one. Brad Green - 6 goals, Dees by 28 pts.
  2. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/tabid/8667/contentid/283925/default.aspx Jack in raptures about his home in Labrador?
  3. Add in McDonald, Moloney, Grimes, Warnock. Based on the Casey reports Jack Fitzpatrick was good against Fraser & Wood, two seasoned ruckmen. This is a bloody good sign. Add in Gysberts, Blease, Strauss. Could go on & on. Still thinking about yesterdays game, today. Media talking finals?! Premierships. Going to be some ups & downs still, but the ride is just starting it's ascent, which is the best part! Go Dees!!
  4. Hard to se Jordie not getting his Nom, if not this week it will come.
  5. Yep, agree with the majority here in that it was Plan A on display. Bails has mentioned in many pressers that he was not happy with the number of handballs. Reckon that a more dangerous forward set up is a definite advantage to how we use the ball.
  6. Beamer is all heart. He and Jamar have been a solid force in the centre this year. But the third quarter against Freo last week and the four qtrs yesterday are almost an indicator to me that we can't play all of Beamer, Junior and Jones in the one side. I had Brock McLean in this group up until last year. As strong as they are around the ball/stoppages it is not quite enough, the speed to take it away needs to be there. Jordie McKenzie, he is playing a similar role to Beam, Junior and Jones but has a touch more pace and uses the ball well. I find it hard not to say that Jordie has quickly become just as important as a Skull or Trengove to our long term midfield prospects. I'm certainly not writing anyone's ticket but can't help but comment on how good we have been through the middle with a bit more speed and 'better' users of the ball in there. Col Sylvia playing in the middle is another element and as good as anything in the league when he is on song - outstanding!
  7. Good work Hang. This thread continues to gather speed! Go Dees!!
  8. Skull was ok. Mentioned above that he was on Hannebery, is that correct? Thought Hannebery might have had the better if they were matched up. 25 touches to 14. My 3 word analysis - great team effort! There were the obvious stand outs and some didn't play full games but a terrific day for a demon supporter.
  9. Agree. Green most likely followed by the big Russian. Frawley for 3rd, with a chance if he finishes off the season as the previous 17 games.
  10. Agree with that. He has many weapons at his disposal, wouldn't go as far as saying like Rioli but similar in that he has potential to be very very damaging.
  11. 10 votes - for one of the best days out at the G in years!!! 6 - Sylvia - An A grader when at his best 5 - Frawley - All-Australian? Superstar. 4 - Bruce - obliterated O'Keefe 3 - Jamar - All Australian Russian! 2 - Green - All Australian? 1 - McKenzie - closely followed by every other player.
  12. An awesome performance today. Senior players are all well and truly along for the ride and the kids are a joy to watch, easily the best developing talent I've seen for MFC in my 35 years. Col Syliva, simply A grade at his best.
  13. Should be All-Australia now!
  14. Don't agree he was shocking.....he was in and around plenty of contests, more he didn't make enough of his opportunity's. Bit of pressure on Watts & Jurrah without Bate who, especially playing at the 'G, is good target to play through. Got a feeling that come Sunday we will see Bate running out.....Moloney will miss and the late change will see Bate return. A bit of a rocket for him.
  15. There a quite a few names within Demonland that went very very very early into Jack......already they are either back tracking or saying absolute bugger all!!! Silly and will be sorry.....we'll probably not sorry they'll just be in love with him then!

  17. Hit it on the head!!! Wont be any further changes unless soemthing/someone else has any issue.
  18. Well said......would like to think we are a chance but Grimes, Trengove, Moloney, McDonald is a big hole in our midfield against this mob. Realise we did this very nicely for a qtr or so against shockers but won't be as free here one would imagine. Dunn seems to be the match up for Goodes. He will be required in the midfield due to some absences so this move seems to sort itself out. Skull & Jordie will need big games which both are certainly well capable of. Nath Jones will need to lead by example in there. Our main forward targets...Watts, Bate & Jurrah saw plenty of the ball last week & were lively with all 3 probably having decent chances to have more of an impact on the game than each did. This is positive for us & hopefully if they see the same amount this week they can finish off that work, they all worked fairly hard and were never really in each others space. Bennell complements them well and this could be a real strength. I reckon these four (plus Rick Petterd/Tapscott) will be a real handful in years to come. With these four playing dangerous it will allow Col Sylvia & Brad Green to push further & be rotated into the midfield which we will need against the Swans this week. I'm confident that our backline can handle any combination thrown up by their forward set up. It has started to go without saying.......we need to bl00dy start well, go Dees!! We win by 16....
  19. Come on your taking the pi$$??! Had his day and been axed by 2 clubs in the middle of a season. I don't dislike him and was a fantastic player but all those people can't be wrong. Their footy club has made a tough decision and a good one.
  20. Can't see why it wouldn't be used everywhere the emblem is used, maybe remove the writing underneath at times, on clothing etc?
  21. Terrible those two!! This is an awesome emblem even though I am biased. Southern Cross a bit similar to the Aus Cricket Team but altogether different from what any other AFL/Football club has while still keeping within the theme/spirit of the game and more pleasing the club. It is recognisable to demons such as us & others. It's a beauty!
  22. Bit harsh - has been calling the same for 20 years. I have a very soft spot for Tim Lane. I remember our fantastic rise to the 87 finals series after 23 years in the wilderness. I thought Tim was a Demon supporter at the time such was his passion and excitement that a club with such a rich heritage as ours was competing in finals again. He loved Robbie and was a great commentator for ABC this year and always has been.
  23. Trengove & Grimes That injury list seems to have taken a turn for the worse when 2-3 weeks ago things seemed to be on track. Yeah, can't see too much change this week. If Beamer misses and Junior not ready I'd say Maric gets a run.
  24. I hear your point Rhino and can't disagree that this is indeed the message coming from the AFL even though I strongly object to the severity of this punishment. What I don't appreciate is the prevalence of inconsistencies that seem to get to a point where the AFL or MRP (I find it hard to distinguish the two as to who decides to 'make clear' these messages) decide that a 'clear message' has to be made and ball players such as Cotchin are made an example of. Especially when it is the lesser of previous acts that do escape censure, eg - Kennedy, Hille, Waite. This is frustrating and it will be interesting to see how any such similar acts are treated, especially when finals come around.
  25. Good work Jack.....yes, he did keep Mundy to sweet FA after half time and should've got the nod ahead of Davis who I do rate but was not better than Jordie - this week anyway.
