Bruce shanked a few, but surely anyone would have to admit he beat Hodge? Come on!! But IMO today just showed to me that there will still be a lot of change in this side. I could name the usual suspects as players that need to make better use of the ball under pressure, but even Col G shanked one at one stage today. This game really is sitting badly in the stomach right now, I've a feeling the players would feel exactly the same. I thought the umpires were nothing short of a disgrace, I can't remember one crucial decision going our way, Hawthorn got about 5-6good one's. There is a heap of upside for us and there is no reason why this time next year, we aren't playing a game like today for a spot as high as the top 6. 6 - Sylvia 5 - Rivers 4 - Bail 3 - Frawley 2 - Bruce 1 - Jamar

The only [censored] weak part was the umpires. A bloody disgrace. IMO full credit to many of our boys today, I actually thought we were the better team, with the better passages of play through the day. The umps made some shocking calls at some critical times that really cost us. I am more than happy to admit that there were some stinkers from us that cost goals, but Hawthorn made as many errors as we did, they were not crucified as harshly as we were. I might calm down, but I doubt as I am severely pi$$ed off and thought our effort deserved better today. From Rnd 1 to Rnd 20, what a turn around though? We could pretty much count Davey out of that side today which added to many other players, a lot of Dees supporters could make an argument for 12 players to come into that side that were not there today. We were never pushed around today and still have a hell of a lot of upside.

What is BF, bigfooty I presume?

Yes, in essence. I just liked the enthusiasm in the last line of old dee's post which was what I was referring to, in my own head anyway. I can see how answering old dee's post in that fashion could lead another person to summarise that I was going against my original statement when in fact I was not. I do thank you though for picking up on that oversight and I will ensure to explain in full, explicit detail the reasoning behind each of my posts. I do appreciate the policing you do around here though Hannabal, especially when it comes to hypocrisy or grammatically challenged posts. Keep up the good work.

I'll go with you Old Dee. So, back to Casey, what was the final wash up of Grimes? Did he come back at any stage? Other good players? Another good kicker to the Multi taken today, Casey paying $2.75 to Bullants $1.60, money for jam!

Very true. I hope to see Chip run out as I imagine you do. As important as Chip as quickly become it is relatively calming to have someone such as Warnock to fall back on.

Well at least more established names. Another positive sign for us. Very keen to know how Blease went today after what I saw of him last week, live. I continue to rave about Blease because from what I see he will be a well established member of the Dees 22 by this time next year.

I said on Sunday straight after the Toiges game Chip was hobbling, hopefully I am wrong and my eyes deceived me, otherwise Warnock will play tomorrow & Chip will miss.

Thanks KC. Seems it's not done & more a pre-caution or he would be iced and put away by now?
-
Cmon guys, can we get the facts right here? As far as I would gather if 'they', the trainers spent a qtr working on his hammy then he most likely has not done the hammy again, otherwise why would they bother working on it? It would be iced and he would be done.

Cam Schwab's Twitter CamSchwab: We are continuing to work on the brand plan that extends from the release of the emblem for 2011, including clash strip and the Demon. CamSchwab: The clash strip will have a more traditional feel about it, but yes it will be predominately white. It will hark back to our heritage. CamSchwab: These Demons come in all shapes and sizes. It was a seriously weird dude in the Age yesterday. Liking the way ours is emerging. Character.

How can you say that the team won't be very different and the next line have concern as to why 3 players are not there? IMO I think it will be a lot different. FWIW the team will change a fair amount over the next 12 mths or so. Players not in that side currently include Grimes, the 3 you mention, Blease, Tapscott, Gysberts, Strauss & other up and comers like Fitzpatrick & Gawn. IMO Blease is a certainty to be in the side going forward as long as he gets fit, the club have looked after him superbly & he will come through the injury.

That is fantastic, I was going to say optimism but there is a lot more thought behind it than that. As a keen punter I am very happy with your thoughts on how the game may eventuate. Dees into a nice juicy multi sounds good!

Jones has as many attributes as Sewell IMO who has maybe had one A grade year at best, maybe. He is no A grader. Wasn't he almost a Demon, I am pretty certain the Hawks were chasing Ryan Ferguson and were offering Sewell as the trade?

Keep trying LH. I've copied the rule as it would be applied if introduced. Seems pretty clear to me that the ball cannot bounce through over the goal while making contact with the post. http://www.afl.com.au/aflrulesyoursay/tabid/16504/default.aspx a) Should the rules be changed so that a ball which hits the goal posts and goes through is still awarded a goal? (Please note: ball would still need to be kicked and need to be on the full without being touched)

+1 Lot of love for Jack here!!

Just don't agree with you that Bartram has more strings to his bow than Bate. Bartram extracts everything from himself into each contest, let alone each week and credit to him. I think many forget that prior to the last couple of years and even during these past couple of years Bate has served MFC pretty well and deserves a bit more credit. IMO a win for MFC equated to a strong performance from Bate. Was he the central figure in these wins? Probably not but he was a vital ingredient to them. He can and has altered the course of games, not sure Bartram will ever be that player?

Blease will not be competing with anyone if fit. This kid is a jet and if fitness follows look out for him in 2011.

If Warnock was to come in, Rivers would have to make way IMO. Horses for courses as they say. FWIW I rate Riv and an unchanged defence is probably deserved considering the great job they have performed as a unit this year. Warnock no doubt is included in that 'unit' and I'm not sure that we would lose too much with that swap but again, happy to leave it as it is.

It seems that these rumors come about when players aren't getting a game. I can't judge on others clubs but in Baters case his form has been average at best. Unfortunately an interrupted pre-season did not see him start on the right foot. He looked to be getting there (Dogs game for example) but quickly dropped off again. I've seen him twice at Casey since he has been back there and he his impact has been minimal. Whether or not there is any scrap of truth to this, he hasn't deserved a game. Full stop.

Mmmmm. I might be wrong and will await the correction but I seem to think that the first 4 listed on the bench have become the final bench amongst the 22? If so, Miller is a chance.

Nice front page of sports section if you actually purchase The Age today. Martin Flanagan also contributes an article to the double page spread. Love reading him.

Lost Highway? Apt name here mate as it's not me making this sound more complicated. It is the proposed rule You are incorrect. If the ball bounces into the post BUT still crosses the goal line, it will be awarded a behind only. So, here we head straight into another contentious call when a ball lands like a half volley on the goal line and scraps the post on its way through, is that a goal or behind Lost? You tell me. Crazy!
