  1. More to follow...
  2. Yeah that's a beauty to drag out. Even the comment below by some snapper head!! Hopefully Charles Happell can dig this out and re think his next gem.
  3. I love the work and thought put into the emblem by those within the club and for that am rapt with it. There is a bit to be explained but that is due in part to the rich heritage as explained by Jim. For a club that created the rules, lost more guys at war than any other club, was born out of a football ground, there is a fair bit of a story to be told and needs to be included. Great work by everyone at MFC. I am loving what the club are doing in every single area right now and the fact they have been so inclusive towards the fans makes one feel so connected to this great club.
  4. Great updates through the night WJ. Such a proud Demon right now. Great work by everyone involved at the club as well as every single supporter that was able to contribute. What a platform for the entire club to launch. Fresh new players, fresh new facility, fresh start wit no debt! Go dees!
  5. B - Bartram Rivers Garland HB - Grimes Frawley Bruce C - Scully McKenzie Davey HF - Green Watts Sylvia F - Jurrah Petterd Wonaeamirri R - Jamar Moloney Trengove I - MacDonald, Jones, Dunn, McDonald E - Bate, Morton, Bennell
  6. Tonight's the night where the Melbourne Football Club could well be debt free for the first time in 30 years! Super work from every single person, from Jimmy to each and every member that has donated. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/7415/newsid/99633/default.aspx
  7. Good interview.....mentioned Luke Tapscott (amongst others) after KB asked him if Luke would have time to play seniors this year. Bails said, 'he might', that he would have to work hard and play some pretty good football to get a game. Hope to see him
  8. Agreed, can certainly see that.
  9. Seemed to be going pretty well for Casey. A certainty surely?
  10. Go hard GNF! I think you'll find the majority agreeing with you, maybe not in those words!!
  11. IMO this has to be the winner as it is the only one that was 100% correct along with Dandeeman who said Frawley would beat whoever he plays on but that just goes without saying now! Go the Chip! The Boss with PJ's goal of the year effort goes close as does The Jacks 9 point margin.
  12. Yep good call HT, any chance we could hit the 50,000? I reckon this a good shake this week and would be great for our coffers.
  13. IMO - all of Jurrah, Wonna & Bennell struggled for influence, especially in the 2nd half. Bennell & Wonna did continue to apply pressure and tackle though where Jurrah did not.
  14. What they said on the Sunday Footy show or more specifically what Brayshaw said and the others agreed with was "there have been people baying for Jack Watts blood and waiting for him to fail and that many of those people have now gone very quiet". Anyone can see that, yes he made some shocking decisions with disposal. But the fact remains is that he got the thing 27 times which is fantastic and his efficiency if I remember correct without checking was around 75% which is pretty good. Some people just like to focus on the 6 or 7 errors he made because they don't look great. He still made the good decision the other 20 times he had it, this is not a bad thing for a 19 year old that has played 14 games of AFL. The kid wants the ball and wants to win, this is evident. He is getting more physical but doesn't have the body to carry it through yet. Another 10-15 kegs and he will be dominant.
  15. I'm with you on Jackie Watts DWA. But he did mess up a few things and if he was more polished and maybe finished with a goal would be a rising nominee for sure this week. Jordie - will get one, even if not this week. A tough week this week with Jordie, Hurley and Watts - I also heard Ben Reid mentioned? Has he not got one yet?
  16. Ralphius you beat me to it this week! I'll go with another strong showing by the Dees and a win by 45 points. Tiges will not kick over 60 points against our awesome back line.
  17. HT does this total take in those that are fronting up with the $5k each? We still have the night with G Lyon to go and should get there. FWIW I have contributed $250 - with 3 kids it's a fair crack!
  18. Yep, noticed this from one of Cam Schwabs tweet vid's. Looked terrible actually!
  19. I put the IQ on last night. Not great in the first half Dappa, weren't we 4 to 5 goals down? Remember sitting up in the old Ponsford for this game and Blues supporters absolutely giving it to us early in the game. It was very sweet to turn it around on them.
  20. No way will Watts be dropped. 15 kgs & some more confidence with decision making & we have a star. Is developing nicely, let him continue to do so. Moloney, if fit will not come straight back. Junior & Trengove go through Casey, so too will Beamer. IN - Trengove is a certainty. OUT - Jurrah - not too concerned if he stays as needs still to develop but his pressure & presence, not just yesterday but in the last few games has been found wanting. For me, he is a certainty to be dropped. The coach may talk about delivery but this wasn't the sole reason for this part of Jurrah's game. A week back at Casey might be a good thing and no one should be beyond a rocket. Also, Nath Jones was hobbling and could go out. Don't think we need PJ this week. Bennell will need to get more of the ball but he does some great things and his pressure and chasing is the opposite of what Jurrah's has been and for that IMO he deserves to stay. If Nath Jones is out I would like to see Tapscott given a run against the Toiges, he can play half forward, half back or in the middle. Matt Warncock - our back line is superb & Warnock is BOG every week at Casey, unlucky but just not a spot there. IN - Trengove, Bate, Tapscott OUT - Jones, Jurrah, Johnson
  21. Trengove in for sure. Bate & Tapscott huge possibility to see both considering the poor performance of some MFC forwards. Warnock BOG or near enough for the last 3-4 at Casey, credit to him and his banging away. No match up against Toiges and can't see him included.
  22. One thing is for certain, there will be no wooden spoon three-peat! If we can win 2 out of the next 3 (Rich, Hawks, Port)then the Round 22 game against the Roos will most defiantly be like an Elimination Final for us. Win that game and then head to the finals?!!! Wow, that would be an amazing result and the boys would get more out of those 2 weeks than 20 games. The young guys are hungry and guys like Sylvia running into A grade peak form, getting this sort of taste will make this group salivate for it from 2011 onwards, I can see nothing but positives from making a great run and hitting the finals. Sydney have Hawks (H), Freo (A), Dogs (H), Lions (A) - Carlton have Ess, Rich, Geel, Freo (A).....if either of Sydney or Carlton manage only 1 win from the last 4, we will take that spot providing we can win 3 from 4. If they both manage 2 wins we would need to win all 4 games. North have Freo (H), Saints, West Coast (A) and of course the Dees. 2 out of those look possible for Nth up to our game which would be the decider should one of Sydney or Carlton only manage one win which looking at both their draws and form is very very possible. Bring it on, Go Dees!!
  23. 71-83 and Casey almost gone.
  24. Beauty!! Got a multi running with the Tigers first to 25 points. Collected on the Scorps last week at a crazy $3.25 against the pies and again today were $2.35 outsiders! I like the man responsible for running that book! Go scorps! PS - Trengove should not be playing at Casey, far too good & will be back next week for the Dees.
  25. A bloody great result as in another step forward for the MFC. Not only breaking a real interstate hoodoo (the Darwin game IMO does not really count) but also coming on the back of the great win last week. As is becoming expected another brilliant game by all in the back line who with Sylvia who is A grade, big Russian & McKenzie kept up the fight through the 2nd half. Watts & Scully were both good. Some poor decisions/disposals by both but they are both going to be A grade. A few players down which depending on form with Casey tomorrow would see Trengove, Bate, Tapscott as well as Moloney as possible inclusions.
