There can't be too much love here as no one has got his name correct in this thread, it's McMahon!! Unless all the Mc's of the world are taking a lead of Joel MacDonald and like what they see.
-
I watched him play and while not totally disappointed thought we could have picked him with the pick we passed on at #66 in the draft, but I think had we used this we would not have been able to have had a pick at the 2010 pre-season draft where we got Joel MacDonald? Someone will correct me but I am fairly certain this was the case. Dylan IMO had some similar traits to Jack even though he is a bit taller than Jack. Similar traits for me are the way Dylan reads the play. Not for a second do I suggest that Dylan is anywhere near the level of Jack, what I have seen he is nowhere near him, but it will be interesting to see how he goes. Like Jack he gets a Round 22 debut and as a keen supporter of Jack, I'll be watching Dylan closely. Best of luck to him.

+1 We won games under Northey that we had no right to win, glorious stuff! Of course improvement isn't guaranteed, St Kilda had a fair crack at early draft picks and near on a decade later are still trying to get a flag, it's not easy. Don't think anyone is any less hungry than MFC. Under Bailey & others the club has traded Johnstone & McLean and had no hesitation in moving on others, McDonald, Miller, Bell, Robertson, White, Yze etc etc. The continued clean out this year makes way for more players to get games into them next year. The FD is doing a fine job and making decisions that have to be made. Hopefully to have a squad of players similar to Geelong that play a lot of football together & have a lot of success. It takes time for those games to be played together & the game plan to be second nature to them all.

The regard he is held in by the players & club is a fair bit higher than elsewhere. Brad deserves a final game, he has given his all for the club, no matter his limitations. He may well choose to play for Casey due to his commitment in wanting to see them progress as far as they can but I, for one, would like to see him play a final game for the Dees. His form gives his selection a fair amount of merit in any case, rather than just a token final game. He will play back up ruck to Jamar as a replacement for Newton. Nothing wrong with that selection after Newton was given a chance last week and probably came up short in impressing.

How many games will the Demons win in 2010 (season proper)?
Red Sox replied to Pauly Walnuts's topic in Melbourne Demons
Had a slab on us getting to 8 wins with a Pies supporting friend. He has already passed on the proceeds! -
All the best to Millsy and Bell. Credit to both for what they got out of themselves. Hopefully a nice finish by winning a flag with Casey.

Dumbest post of the year!!
-
As per interview with CC on SEN this morning, the club is leaving it to Brad to decide. Brad also wants to contribute to Casey in the finals seeing as he has been there all year. A senior player will replace him anyway at Casey but fair enough Brad thinks of Casey's final, pretty much sums up the ethics of the man.
-
IN - Miller, Sylvia, MacDonald, Bate OUT - Newton for Miller, Warnock for MacDonald, Bennell for Sylvia & maybe Bail for Bate.
-
I had wondered why Gotch had mentioned Miller was unlikely to play finals for Casey. Agree on your reasons for a farewell for Brad. Think this should also apply to him playing for Casey but understand the want to play others, youngsters etc.
-
While it is seemingly obvious, still not great by Gotch to be coming out saying as much just now. He's not Millsy's manager.

Any good footy judge should give an extra point to 'the ride' factor of the mark. Jurrah & Goddard's jump/leap are almost identical, Jurrah gets the extra point for the extra 'ride' he got once on top of the shoulders.

http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/7415/newsid/100910/default.aspx There is enough here from Bailey to suggest what went wrong today. Our execution let us down rather than any deplorable type of effort. Way over the top and when you consider the side we might see run out in Round 21, 2011 could include names such as Grimes, Davey, Sylvia, Petterd, Blease, Gysberts, Tapscott, MacDonald in it when compared with the side today as well as Scully, Trengove, Watts, Jurrah, Wonaeamirri, Frawley, Garland all getting better and better. It is hardly time for explanations and the signs are all there to see. There will still be bumps along the way until this team is settled with names above.
-
I am not writing games off in any form. Rather, can see the entire big picture is not just about today. We weren't great today, but it wasn't all about any lack of effort, more a lack of efficiency, so there is no point in taking shots at any one or anything in particular. There will still be ups and downs along the way to developing the majority of the team that will hopefully take us to a flag. The side we see run out in Round 21, 2011 could well see names included such as Grimes, Davey, Sylvia, Petterd, Blease, Gysberts, Tapscott, MacDonald in it when compared with the side today. Scully, Trengove, Watts, Jurrah, Wonaeamirri, Frawley, Garland will all get better and better. Nothing wrong with my attitude or perspective. Hopefully an improved performance to see off Junior next week. A win to finish off the season would top off a much improved year with a heap of improving and possibilities to come. Go Dees!
-
Excellent, be good to get a run down on MFC players available for finals.
-
Was less about the effort and more about our poor disposal and finishing, otherwise we would have been in a fairly good position before Port even got a sniff. Credit to them for their pressure and while I agree some efforts weren't there today, it was far from a shocker. Think of the talent that was out today, Jurrah was good, Scully was awesome.
-
Fairly similar. Jurrah's better IMO, for obvious reasons.
-
IN - Sylvia, Bate, MacDonald OUT - Newton, Warnock, Bennell
-
6 - Tom Scully 5 - Jordie McKenzie 4 - Liam Jurrah 3 - Cameron Bruce 2 - James McDonald 1 - Jared Rivers
-
This thread is up and down like the Titanic!! Some kicking errors severely costing us, otherwise we'd be 5 goals in front. Not some of the doom & gloom here. Hopefully we can use the ball better and win this game. Go Dees!!
-
Great goal by Watts. Great spoil by Col Garland. Backline start well...again. Poor kicking, field and at goal is costing us. Now with the wind, better kicking would be nice.
-
Big loss Sylvia, together with Davey. Some big names missing today. Will be a great result if we can get up. Go Dees!!!!
