Yes, Robert Walls selects a mark from the 3 nominated. That is then included in the final contenders. If the public vote for a different mark, that mark is included as well as Robert Walls selection. The Hun amongst others had Jurrah has the winner, so I find it a bit strange that Goddard was favoured. In any case a good result both are there as they were both great grabs.

Go and have a look at You Tube. See Jack playing with/against similar body types, weight etc etc. That will translate to AFL over time. And it will be The Age, you will then get a front page special as well as the sport lift out! Note - I believe of all threads/post started today, of course a Watts thread is the first to got to two pages? And this one was only started at 12pm.....Geez!! Opinions vary but one thing is for sure - everyone loves talking Jack Watts.
-
Nothing wrong with him showing some disappointment. I would simply counter that by pointing to the joy he shares with his teammates when a goal is kicked. Let's look back at this thread in 2015 once the "Are we too Jack Watts focused" threads start because we kick to him too often. To me he is starting to show more Hird like traits (just a comparison people, not saying he will be Hird) rather than a KP type player. This may change a bit with the physic he brings to the field next year. That left foot pass in the second quarter to Brad Green Did anyone else catch that because it was pure, pure class. He looks to have a bit of hunger for it which is why I am not concerned that he displays some disappointment, this hunger is why I believe once he has the body to give him confidence, he will have no issue applying himself physically.

Yep, decided to spend the last game of the year in the Ponsford with the 'away' supporters. Always good to get the juices flowing (as opposed to Newton!) with a bit of banter through the day. Safe to say that Dunn was not that popular for the remainder of the day.

Nice post Bhima. I think North have some very capable mids with some outstanding possible mids within there, but I think both ends of the ground could be a concern. The most telling thing for me about North, they achieved a 50% win/loss mark for 2010, you would expect a percentage around maybe 95-100%? They finished with 87%. Only the bottom 4 were worse than that (besides flaky Port!).

I like to think he has been carrying a niggle. Gee, he and Bennell can go missing across that half forward line.
-
We sucked!! Over-rated that write up was. In 2006 we lost to Carlton, twice! Just like the West Coast game this year, we have to get those shocking games out of our make up.
-
What is just as important as all the 'freak' qualities he undoubtedly possesses is the capacity to apply pressure in the forward line. As his fitness got to a better level in the last few games, his pressure increased which is fantastic. This must continue as the modern game demands it. If he is switched on to this part of his game the rest will take care of itself because he is just that good.

I wouldn't say Jones was a great year although a good effort to play the 22. Agree with the Green call.

Over rated his own game, Bater. He is better than has been shown. Pre-season and he will be back

B&F, Most Improved, Best First Year Player
Red Sox replied to titan_uranus's topic in Melbourne Demons
So, the curtain closes on another year and with no team talk, predictions for the week etc I thought I might have a go at nominating the winners of the various awards to be presented at the Best & Fairest this Thursday 2nd September. P.S - I'm looking forward to the day that, "Tapscott takes home Truscott"! http://tweetphoto.com/38017128 Keith 'Bluey' Truscott - Best & Fairest - James Frawley Sid Anderson - 2nd Best & Fairest - Brad Green Ron Barassi Snr - 3rd Best & Fairest - Cameron Bruce Ivor Warne-Smith - 4th Best & Fairest - Mark Jamar Dick Taylor - 5th Best & Fairest - Aaron Davey Norm Smith - Coaches Award - Jared Rivers or Clint Bartram Ron Barassi Jnr - Leadership Award - James McDonald or Colin Sylvia Harold Ball - Best First Year Player - Tom Scully Most Improved - Lynden Dunn Ian Ridley - Club Ambassador - Um, yeah a bit stuck with this one but will go with Liam Jurrah? No idea! -
IMO - Blease & Gysberts are & will be miles ahead of Jetta & Bail in a midfield role. Bail more suited to take Bartrams role. Jack Watts - will be one of the first picked, seriously!
-
No issues with Jack Trengove. Remember that Scully is a running machine and his tank is huge, he was able to run out the year nicely yesterday. Jack's injury set him back a little, slowed him up further. Needs to do a bit of sprinting work IMO to work on his speed, bit more strength obviously. He is a calm player that will be a star, loved the mark yesterday over Warren, I think?
-
No criticism necessary, I'll have a crack though at the top 20 B&F: Frawley, James Green, Brad Bruce, Cameron Jamar, Mark Davey, Aaron Sylvia, Colin Rivers, Jared Moloney, Brent McDonald, James Scully, Tom Grimes, Jack Dunn, Lynden McKenzie, Jordie Garland, Colin Macdonald, Joel Bartram, Clint Jones, Nathan Trengove, Jack Jurrah, Liam Couldn't split these 3 after Jurrah, all showing various glimpses. Watts, Jack Bail, Rohan Wonaeamirri, Austin

TDL from Sydney was pretty good, 3 goals from about 15 touches. But I reckon Jordie will get the last nod for his overall season, Healy was pretty hot on him yesterday to Hird who is a selector. Hopefully this helps Jordie as it is a deserved nom. As Healy stated, when Jordie was put in the middle yesterday, we got the ball out.
-
Bennell was nothing but horrible. Terrible output from a player that has more than that to offer. Luckily for him his next game is not for 6 mths otherwise he would be a fair way back in playing for the Dees. He is better than that and needs to show it, whether with Melbourne or Casey.

6 - Liam Jurrah 5 - James Frawley 4 - Tom Scully 3 - Brad Green 2 - Lynden Dunn 1 - Jared Rivers

Fremantle... good call or an utter disgrace?
Red Sox replied to Jaded No More's topic in Melbourne Demons
Nothing wrong with a punt if that is your want, thankfully I had Freo (1-39) in my multi's this weekend and duly saluted B) The bookies don't like it simply because it either, scares punters off games or punters go all in for what is a fairly obvious outcome. Like has been said above, the bookies are burned when they set lines not in their favour, but who didn't see coming, the decision Freo were going to make? How sad the bookies have things stacked against them for once -
You are pumped about China, aren't you jc?!!

I would think not.

Scully & Trengove are going to East Fremantle?!

Probably around the mark of CC being footy op's manager to a role he actually applied for (Bailey's). Seems to be one that pops up from time to time from the media. Any hint of this and the media would report it I suggest. McLardy seems to have knocked it out with a blunt 'did not get that impression'.

Cheers DD. Good the club is seeking that feedback.
