Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
Hird, Voss (among others) validates this, though Hird will undoubtedly claim that he was sabotaged by others.

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
Why should Guerra waste his time explaining to an airhead what he has been told already but couldn’t get it through his thick cranium?? One way to reduce congestion, which has always occurred by the way, would be to have the boundary umpire throw it in from 10 meters inside the boundary - it would certainly reduce repeat throw ins and if applied deep in forward / defence make forcing it out of bounds very unattractive for defenders.

Demons Ponder New Strategy Boss
So 24 h after the question was posted, no sensible answers.

Farewell Judd McVee
In that case it is time to end prevarication and intrigue.

Bassett leaves the Dees
Update Mr Wells - there was some talk here about someone very high up in the coaching hierarchy being appointed, in case you missed something. Something about a king - maybe you could be the court jester

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
ABSOLUTELY HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD. Mr Guerra - can you please bring all our communications systems into the modern age - I am so sick of interviews having totally unintelligible questions. I would be happy to put in to a fund to buy a bloody mobile microphone*, and for coaches not to respond to questions not addressed properly. It is so bloody amateurish as it has been for years. This is just plain amateur hour stuff. That said, Mr King seems articulate and thoughtful - it just would have been really nice to know what questions he was responding to. just checked Amazon who have some for $22.09 or two for $39.76 with free delivery tomorrow, which will be plenty of time before another press conference. Please let me know how much you would like me to contribute to bringing at least small part of our comms into the 2020s

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
Quite a different scenario to King’s reckless act, which unlike 💩#5 had no malice. I suspect that wheels are grinding busily below the surface. And as for Buckley, may he freeze in the open air stadium in Hobart devoid of success for decades.

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
I really think, horrible as it was, it is time to put what was a very reckless, high impact, high (but not deliberate or malicious) contact behind us. Yes, he should have been suspended, but I feel more anger at his coach at the time, Thompson, who seemed to think it was quite amusing. Jeff appears to have shown his class and done so.

NON-MFC: Finals Week 02
I was ambivalent about this game, but then when the TV focused on the Suns’ box and I saw Hardwick I realized just how much I dislike him

Poll: Coaching Viewpoint
He isn’t starting next year, he is starting as soon as Geelong are out, either next Saturday or Monday week. He will be with us throughout the trade and draft periods (even thought he isn’t the list manager he will have the usual input)).

NON-MFC: Finals Week 02
What the [censored] was that 50 for? I thought that you could retreat after a stand call? PS the camera angles even worse than last night. I hate the zoomed shot all the time - when watching for home a wider perspective is needed to get an overall view.

NON-MFC: Finals Week 02
I just turned on and thought I must have been on the wrong Chanel. More putrid that the Cheaters’ pajama jersey.

NON-MFC: Finals Week 02
At least he has the fond memory of playing a big role in the most dominant finals series of all time. But geez the Crows are dead set chokers.
-
NON-MFC: Finals Week 02
Has the Dees goalkicking coach moved to Adelaide? And geez Tex choking under pressure.

NON-MFC: Finals Week 02
When did the rule officially change that there is no 50 for vociferously berating an umpire? Sicily gets away with anything.

Farewell Charlie Spargo
Why? What is wrong with 19? “Promoting” player numbers is so overrated. I will never forget when Liam Jurrah was “promoted” from 48 to 24 and he wasn’t even half the player he was before.

Farewell Charlie Spargo
Surely you must know by now that there is no requirement of reasoning behind any AFL rules.

Welcome to Demonland: Max Heath
I recall from the podcast (?binman) that we were in fact quite highly ranked for ball movement this year. There is still a need for someone who can mark in contests around the ground and we have Max who will never be repeated, though another Max ... ??

I wonder what that means for Verrall?

More dollars from the Saints? Do they have any left after their recent multiple overs?

Welcome to Demonland: Jai Culley
Jai certainly appears to play taller than his height. Could he become a deep marking forward like Frittata, and or a big mid? Appears to have footy smarts

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Perhaps every club should have a right of veto for one umpire - he (22) would easily be my choice. Cannot help himself searching for whatever isn't there and ignoring the bleeding obvious.

Rule changes proposed for 2026
Last touch is a horrible idea - last touch only encourages the will be beneficiary to not try to keep it in. Maybe if the boundary umpire threw in from 5 or 10 meters in from the boundary there would be far fewer repeat OOB. And if boundary throw ins required ruckman to be separated by 10 meters as the ball is thrown it would stop the gorilla wrestling and enhance the game. Stand is absolutely counterintuitive and worse because the umpires never force the kicker to go over the mark. Often they run wide and the poor defender has to look by stupidly until play on is called. IF insufficient intent is to stay, surely it should only apply when the kicker is free - whenever the kicker is in a tackle there should be no insufficient intent paid. I can't remember who, but at the weekend some poor guy was 360 degrees into a tackle, got his kick or handball away and was pinged. No feel for the game. The most absurd one of which I can recall the detail was Angus in the dying seconds of the 2021 game at Geelong - Dees were trailing and desperate to go forward, and the 1d10t called deliberate which would be the last thing on Angus' mind. Fortunately the undeserved free went OOB and the rest is history. Centre bounce - umpires require just one technical skill and many don't master it. When recalled there is usually a loss of 2 seconds which can be crucial in a close game. If the bounce persists, and is recalled, the clock needs to reset.
