I really get the feeling that Fullarton is being thrown to the dogs - setting him up for failure by pairing him with a returning maybe big forward (Turner) and not keeping one of the regular albeit underperforming forwards (JVR, Frittata) to provide some balance / experience. I realise that 2 and / or 31 should have been dropped a week or two back, but the timing and balance is not quite right to me.

With Lever having a long spell injured, yes maybe Turner should fill his role, unless Jed Adams is genuinely ready. And if Jefferson has recovered he probably plays ahead of Fullarton, who the match committee appear to feel is last man on the list.

JVR would have a better chance of improving were he not be required to relieve Max in the ruck

JVR is being killed off by our FD by playing as the sole tall forward AND being made to ruck as well.

Are they trying to kill off JVR - the solitary tall forward and bring asked to play second ruck? He had huge talent and is being wasted without support.

A couple of yers ago were we not leading in inside 50s, but just the least efficient in conversion?? It is just so sad to watch our beloved team looking so totally incompetent and dispirited all over the ground. Hard to watch or enthuse over. I despair that I will ever get excited by a Demons game again.

Fullerton, Schache, Billings among other trade ins who don't fit this mould. Not competitive and hard at opponent and ball. Johnson and Henderson are, but skills are only just there. I would still prefer the latter pair though who give it a red hot go.

I think the MCC has, or had, a croquet club. Maybe outsiders would think it totally appropriate for MFC to participate.

Goody will never learn - 2 years in a row he has selected Spargo without any match play at all. He needs at least 2-3 weeks at Casey to get into it. (Won’t happen) And how about Fullarton for Fritsch (or maybe JVR) who would also be asked for some ruck time? PS. Haven’t seen any of last night’s AFL or VFL.

Only needs to quadruple his season total in one quarter to be a hero.
