  1. Thanks all Can we afford to be confident re KW34 and CP5? Sound reasonably positive.
  2. so you didn't believe their reports the Kozzie, Tracc and Clarrie would not be playing for MFC this year. šŸ˜®
  3. Sure I get your point, but in cases where the AFL mandates a retirement as in Angusā€™ case then surely it is different (or should be).
  4. There was at some stage a suggestion that Shane McAdam may decide to retire. Havenā€™t heard anything about that for a while. Not saying that he should, but IF he did then I would hope it wouldnā€™t be anything like Angusā€™ forced retirement after list finalisation.
  5. Were he a grandson of a Cat, a Magpie or a Blue there may suddenly be a new rule - grandson of a player >250 games.
  6. Fidnig a god prof raedre cna b quiet dificlut soemtmies Wait for the HS report that 31 has checked out, cleared his locker and headed to Geelong or Colonwood. at least Verrall wasnā€™t described as laconic. Good call. .. for what? Maybe a parasol would be a better choice.

ā€¦. I guess they will figure ā€œwhy canā€™t we have them all?ā€ Expect a one off rule change šŸ˜” If possible, they looked even worse in those beige pajamas. Seriously, in either of these, how could anyone sing with any heart or commitment, ā€œwe are the navy bluesā€? How about 70,000 friends.
  8. Clayton has played far less time as a forward than has Tracc, so expect fewer goals. Or are you maybe suggesting cause v effect? Spargo may feel he could be fit for round 1, but given the others vying for his spot (whatever that may actually be) he may have to wait.
  9. fr_ap - exactly what I was thinking. We have a young gun on a wing, touted by some as Tulip#2, so why not continue his development there? I think poor Spargo would be happy to be playing at all - sadly he does look like he could be someone who injury has set him back too far, with others streaming past.šŸ˜¢
  10. Not before time IMO disastrous? If he is really that good stand by for a one off rule change by AFL HQ
  11. Sure depth is vital, but come September, late September in particular, IF all are fit there will be some terrible disappointments all around. It happens, and overall would be a great problem to have.
  12. Looking forward to the headline in the HS reporting the huge rift in the Magpies camp. Only one turned up to training. If Max is in the smaller group there must be some massive newbie that have shown up. Clarry behind Billings is a worry (though later reports sound better)
  13. Surely as well as quick decisive movement into the F50, delivery to moving targets (or into space ahead of moving targets) instead of to the tops of the heads of a stagnant pack of talls and smalls who want to take speccies is needed. Movement to create space behind even if you know the ball wonā€™t necessarily come your way is positive team work. If you always do what youā€™ve always done, you will always get what you always got. And that hasnā€™t worked over the past three seasons. So ā€¦.?
  14. And we shouldnā€™t forget that Max also needs a competitive ruckman at training and in preparation. Donā€™t underestimate the value Majak Daw added to our 2021 list despite never playing a senior game - he helped make Max better. I believe that I even read somewhere that Max said as much.
  15. Sydee - yes, but Oxdee got it right. Mids, mids, mids.
  16. Cant see, currently, that he has the tank of ANB, but then few have. Chin may be close. āœ…
  17. Wentworth too is just about Victoria - so 3 of the 6 NSW are borderline Vics. Zero Tasmanians is a huge anomaly historically - if repeated the 19th team will be filled with ā€œgo home soonā€ players.
  18. ... and Judd loved MFC as a kid .... but later didn't I am glad someone else thinks this - I was "too polite" to say so, but will happily join you watchtheeyes But if the boy can play, I really don't care about his hairstyle - after all I loved Nathan Jones
  19. and we still have Fullerton šŸ˜®
  20. IF McAdam chose, before list finalisation, to retire would there be a pathway to pick up Noah, IF our recruiters felt he was up to scratch ??
  21. Good low kicks - heard a few other mentions of that tooā¤ļø. Can we teach old dogs new tricks? It did look like that in the first few games of 2024 then generally reverted to "kick it long and high to a pack". He does need to either commit 100% or retire now. (In fairness he may have committed already but not be back in town just yet.)
  22. Tassie Suns - 18 hours a day in summer: 6 in winter šŸ„¶ But back to the new jumper - a red ā€œlogoā€ on a red background? Did they actually pay somebody to do that?
  23. Thanks - interesting though who, in Noosa, is in full contact training with him. For me he needs to regain supportersā€™ trust and display his passion for the club on the field before some of us will be able to love him as we did. So it is really over to CP5 and I suspect he will get there.
  24. From the photo background it looks like a rebuild is underway šŸ˜®
  25. One of the things I have been hoping for forever - run and spread. Would that allow us more late draft space? Not sure how it all works these days. Mods - can we please have the facepalm emoji back, please.
