  1. it will probably turn out about as fair, just and equitable as the tribunal points system, in other words another epic Dumbitriou fail. :-(((
  2. Pity we don't have a crystal ball to see just where Fitz and Williams will get to this year. Maybe the inner sanctum have a better idea where these two are headed, though there is always some guesswork. If they are confident that at least one will progress then Dawes may not be as essential as if for instance they had already planned on delisting one or both (don't know their contract status). Just some thoughts.
  3. I was waiting and wondering in which way you would find unhappiness in the Hogan deal - now I know.Have they done anything right yet? Viney for second round OK for you?
  4. We have forwards bad: we have had forwards bad for a long time. We need forwards good! Does Hogan go anyways at all, even just slightly, at appeasing you, albeit not for another 12 months? Dom and Shannon as crumbers? Oh, sorry we couldn't get Cloke, Tippett, Franklin, Roughead because "nobody wants to come to us". And I am still not quite clear about the shooting in the foot reference. Maybe getting three, or at least two, highly sought after players in two days is shooting oneself in the foot?
  5. We are surely due for a major change in luck with our Territorians. Go Dom.
  6. I agree 100%. Or, sure we won the flag and the Normie but wasn't that an awful set shot at goal by that spud in the second quarter, and how come Mitch didn't win the Coleman? Some seem happier to wallow in misery, and see the light at the end of the tunnel as just an oncoming freight train!
  7. wants a regular game in a midfield, can't get one at WCE so moves to Collingwood - sorry, I miss the logic.
  8. Of course I would love to see him out there on the red and blue, but more so I would like to see him preserve / restore his knees to enable him to enjoy the rest if his life. Haven't heard anything.
  9. I guess we had to have one, even on this joyous day!I think some here would whinge after a GF win because someone, inevitably to be referred to as a spud or a dud, made a turnover or missed a shot at goal, rather than celebrate it all.
  10. You surely aren't suggesting that they have some "secret ingredient" that nobody knows about, are you? Not even the IOC or WADA?
  11. Geezzzz There is no pleasing some people. Sure we cant be too self satisfied but today's news is the best we have had in many a long year. Suck it up and enjoy it......unless you would rather wallow in the misery of the past few seasons forever.
  12. Do we get any comp for UFA Maoloney? (And at least with him gone we won't have to put up with the continuing mis-spelling much longer).
  13. Many of us prise the "Sydney culture", one tenet of which is "no [censored]". Sounds as if Caddy may be one....dunno really but there is a lot of talk to that effect.
  14. Correct me if I am wring wrong, but hasn't Hogan been playing adult footy for a year or two, and acquitting himself well, and isn't he already well developed physically? (I have never seen him). The risk would seem to be less than we took with for example Cook. We have all seen Dawes' strengths and weaknesses. Probably rather than going for both we should add to our midfeild stocks - one can never have too many there, if they are good enough.
  15. Byrnes is the only quick fix that we have taken, at least at this stage. Lets not judge until it is all washed up.
  16. I tend to agree re the 'classic' model HFF - HFFs need to be able to take a run in the midfield, and apply defensive pressure, which Tappy does but Aaron hasn't been able to do for a few seasons for various reasons. Gone are the days of the 'opportunist HFF' such as Barry Vagg or Geoff Tunbridge, and more is the pity as we were regularly playing finals, GFs, and winning flags back then.
  17. the double negative will excite some of our week known soothsayers even more that the usual single negative. Some just love everything about anything negative.
  18. Surely if Hogan is coming 2013, then that will make us an even less attractive proposition for Dawes? He does have to agree, after all.
  19. If, as is being suggested, Hogan is the Ox in waiting for 2014, should we really be paying much to get Dawes? Wouldn't we be better off going for more skilled mids? Williams may be able to fill a role in 2013 with another preseason.
  20. If he don't want us,we don't want him. Simple. Conscript armies rarely outfight professionals.
