OMG - where do we start? Obviously the cause of most of our losses has been, and remains, our forward line and mid-forward connection, such as it is. What is the point, George, of us winning "expected score" week after week - it is the actual score that we, and the football world at large, care about. The Demons' inability to convert has become ingrained as the hallmark of this squad; players, coaches and maybe even recruiters. 100%, and it frustrates the bejeezus out of most of us fans. Bomb it long to a huge pack, when we don't have any pack marking forwards! What could be more insane. Wouldn't it be better to bomb it long (if they must) into any semi-empty space and at least have an opportunity for a crumber to crumb? Or to spear it into space or even a contest low? Insanity is doing the same thing over and over, (especially when it clearly doesn't work) and expecting a different result. If you always do what you've always done, you will always get what you always got. Thinking ahead to the off season, (hopefully >3 weeks away) surely the club must get a new and different thinking forward coach. What are the panel's thoughts on replacing JVR? Some on this board have suggested Disco Turner. I am unaware if he has ever played or even trained with the forwards. Would "trying him out" in a cutthroat final be sane? Maybe it would: could it be worse? My guess would be Schache though I don't in any way enthuse. Was TMc as bad as many here post? And of course there is the elephant in the room - Brundy. Is there any place at all for him? Desperation all forward - really desperate?? Extra tall mid????? I am not sure if as sub he would offer sufficient versatility. Many thanks once again for your hard work and fantastic podcast - even after such a heartbreaking loss your calm analysis (sometimes) helps allay my MFCSS.

Interesting to see numerous posters suggesting that Turner could be played as a forward. Q: Track watchers - has he ever trained (or played for that matter) as a forward? It would be almost unbelievable were he to start doing this in a cutthroat final.

Michael. All we want from you now is three more WINS! Thanks for all the great memories. ❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙 -
Can we please recruit this Tim Miller, whomever he is, as our forward coach?
-
Even for a novice concussion, he wouldn't be out and about for up to a week. Angus would be, sadly, all too familiar with the protocols, which are now even more rigorous than when he was last concussed. I would be very surprised were he to be involved with anything at the club until after PF weekend, and not likely to play even if we somehow do get to the GF. Thanks Maynard, you dirty dog. 😠

We will see soon enough just how deeply corrupted the AFL has become. Is Nathan Brown quoting odd on the tribunal outcome? Collingwood player in a finals series. Surely sufficient grounds. -
Turner as a forward who has never played in our forward structure, such as it is, in a cut throat final? 😱😱😱 Lewis - how bad is your MFCSS? Why else would you say that Fritsch will be on one foot by then??? 🙄🙄
-
Surely Gil can arrange for his wet dream Collingwood v Carlton GF. A few more "favourable goal reviews", a tribunal reprieve for Jack Martin. Wouldn't trust him / them at all.
-
I will remain the sometimes wrong optimist, rather than the always right pessimist. Lawyers, and brown paper Visy bags yet to appear.🙄

How about even just a few players leading wide …. a defender has to go with them making these packs less dense. Even for self preservation this makes sense, and even a bomb wide of the mob surely can help. How many pack marks up forward have we taken this year? Very few. Touché Wouldn’t they be under less pressure if they spread? Looking forward to the podcast - they put a lot of emphasis on this. see above. Spread. Dummy leads. Drag opponents away from the contest.

.... or even non forwards who can disperse leads so that it its impossible to find a pack of 20 to kick it towards. Harmes season ending injury today I believe.
-
Martin will get off with a fine, or an apology.
-
2 deeply flawed goal review won Carlton this game. Conventional wisdom has just three teams with felines as their nickname - Tigers, Lions, Cats, but that doesn't recognise the fourth team, the Carlton Cheaters.
-
A draw, with extra time would be a great result from our point of view. 2 goals in three minutes is doable. PS dissent, which won Carlton a meaningless preseason game against us last year, is now apparently all OK.
-
Now days no doubt it is immediate EFT, the amount which varies by the microsecond depending on Nathan Brown's and the AFL's joint venture operator Sportsbet latest live odds.
-
Kodak Box Brownie file still awaiting development.
-
Once again the AFL's determination to get Carlton into the GF is coming to the fore - now two goal review decisions have gone Carlton's way. Their darlings wouldn't have even made finals if this system was not corrupted through lack of investment.
-
McKay appears concussed so (depending on Jesse Hogan’s mate, the Carlton doctors assessment) should miss next week. Which may change out defensive set up
-
Just a point of support to our hard working mids - if you watch a game from high down the ground, the forwards usually huddle and remain huddled as the mids bring the ball forward, so they are left with nobody to kick to other than the static huddle. That is what needs to change - I can’t remember which game, maybe Saints, but there was a lot more spread giving the mids multiple viable target, even if sometimes only 50/50.

Makes it premeditated which should double the penalty. Even if t is, say, 3 from the MRO Collingwood alumnus and even if the tribunal ratified this it will then go to court, pick a Magpie member judge -> nothing to see, and an apology demanded from Goodwin and Brayshaw. -
Re Tommy and Smith - best available and probably neither picked now as forwards were Petty Melksham BBB fit and available. But I believe they will both be needed next week especially as the impartial MRO and former Collingwood player feels the need to flex his muscles and JVR gets done (as he will).

I know who knows what they will decide - a certain Michael Christian, former Magpie player. That’s who knows. -
ElDiabolo14 - next week is a massive challenge (against Carlton or StKilda?). Even if we can’t get past the PF (Port or BNE away) we just must ensure that we don’t have two straight sets fails from top 4. It would psychologically be a stake in the heart to any confidence and self belief.
