Not until Trac gets a game ? Just in case a certain mercenary has any thoughts about asking to return to his original club ?

Presumably 10 seconds in. All knees intact?

Reminds me of the sadist and the masochist Masochist: "Please beat me severely" Sadist: "No!" It seems that they will be allowed draft picks according to their finishing position, which surely will mean pick 1 or 2 - rewarded. They still have the ANZAC game - rewarded. They still have numerous prime time matches - rewarded, even though they are likely to be poor matches. Rewarded. Players will be missing both from EFC and other teams. Top up picks for the offenders; none for the others. Rewarded. WADA rules for team involvement as I understand should involve team suspensions.

Very sad for his family Amazing how this happens at a young age to some who have had a period of incredible fitness Can any physiologists / medics explain? Can it be prevented?

Angus Brayshaw's knee injury (minor strain - 4 weeks)
monoccular replied to Wealthy bigpennies's topic in Melbourne Demons
Those who may consider that Brayshaw's injury may not have occurred in an intraclub or at training should remember that Petracca's was in a simple marking drill at training. And Ox knee #1 Injuries will occur regardless -
Thanks Jeff sure put out his very reasoned opinion on the shocking governance b the Commission. Well said.

Is there a link for a replay? Or even a transcript?

I will be away so I guess that eases my decision making, but I am hugely conflicted in my mind by this. yes - I would love to be there and hopefully watch our team absolutely smash these cheats no - I cannot bear to watch that club playing in any game, regardless of the outcome. They shouldn't be playing at all. They have by their actions forever tainted our competition, indeed our nation's sporting image. And to think that they have been rewarded by the corrupt AFL administration with ANZAC Day and numerous prime time fixturing. no - I cannot allow a penny of my money go to this disgrace of a club Even should we have a massive win, I will find it difficult to watch the replay.

Does that make us all asylum seekers?

Who would you most want to play against in a Grand Final?
monoccular replied to P-man's topic in Melbourne Demons
Well Barrie you would surely be one of the few here to have experienced that joy from the inside. As others have said, Weiderman playing a key rôle in beating the Pies would be the icing on the cake. Imagine the irony of a Weiderman winning a Norm Smith vs Collingwood. Surely that would exorcise the curse for ever. They would burn down the Lexus Centre, or whatever is is called now. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LIAM HULETT
monoccular replied to Nasher's topic in Melbourne Demons
OMG the guy, still a teenager, looks an absolute monster. And I hear he can play too. I am also surprised, given that Jesse is being rested, that he didn't get named. Looking forward to hearing how quickly he comes on at Casey. -

I for one won't be able to access this but would appreciate a précis from anyone so inclined. -
Christian Petracca's toe injury (in full training)
monoccular replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
If he could produce anything like GA(S) did on the field it would be huge for MFC: if he could produce a F/S heir like he did it would be mind boggling. I guess I could be accused of getting a little ahead of myself ? -
Angus Brayshaw's knee injury (minor strain - 4 weeks)
monoccular replied to Wealthy bigpennies's topic in Melbourne Demons
ILLD - so should we go into a season without any match practice? No intraclub? Not even training drills? You would no doubt then complain about poor starts to the season The only significant pre season injury I can remember we have had in a inter club practice match that we would not have had in intraclub or at training is Sylvia's malicious broken jaw. -
Hell. He was always one of the gutsiest players in the game: but what courage he has shown firstly in addressing his own serious problems, but more so in coming out and sharing them, and the steps he has taken to address them, with strangers. Well done and all the best.

Training - Wednesday 2nd March, 2016
monoccular replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Was Jack Trengove sighted WJ? If so, how did he look? -
Like many here, I just hate losing matches that we should win, matches against 'ordinary' teams. North, Saints spring to mind and last year's capitulation so EssenDrug and Carltank were absolutely and totally unacceptable. Turned me away from much interest for the remainder of the year. Getting beaten by the ultimate top 4 is understandable but getting thrashed regularly by them is off putting too.

Mitch Clark - did we dodge a bullet?
monoccular replied to thesleepinggiant's topic in Melbourne Demons
He offered us hope and excitement, for a short period. He has moved on, and from our point of view and with the immense benefits of hindsight he did it at just the right time. Some good memories, but I am so glad that we have all moved on. -
Christian Petracca's toe injury (in full training)

Surely old dee you can see the difference between Trac and the likes of Morton, Gusberts, $cully. Chalk and cheese. Times have changed. -
Maybe WADA are circumventing the AFL - and why wouldn't they - and are getting their samples on the spot and under scrutiny of the TV cameras just to make sure the AFL don't tamper with them.

I would expect that the default would be 3 runners and a medium / tall, but of course that depends on whom we have available for the starting lineup. If the forward line included Hogan, Pedersen, Watts and someone who plays taller that their height eg Vanders, one may take a risk and use four runners. Gawnuis maximums "resting" in the goal square could be a defenser's nightmare. Reminiscent of Big Bob Johnson hovering there. May also depend on weather forecasts. But what I do hope to see is far more rotations between midfield and especially smaller forwards, though I guess backs such as Salem or ?Grimes could join in. Generally I would prefer a slightly out of breath forward than a defender. Brings back the old days a bit - Ridley and Adams rotating from the forward pocket, or Townsend and Emselle - ahhhhhh, the memories of a dominant era

Saying the jury is still out in Frost is IMO a bit premature. The prosecution and the defense haven't even completed their cases. The jury may be listening but hasn't retired to consider their verdict yet. He needs a lot more game time to see just where he is best suited, if at all. IMO it would be great if he could become a tall forward, though Weed and / or Huelett may come into consideration sometime later in the season, depending of course on how the team progresses and if finals are on the cards.
