He would probably be more qualified to rank the top 50 beers (or pubs) than the top 50 players.

At the risk of being accused of advocating communism, I have trouble understanding why team A, be it Collingwood or Melbourne or North , "hosting team B, be it Collingwood or Melbourne or North, at say the G, should reap 100% of the profits, with the "visiting team" whose "home ground" this may also be getting nothing. It takes two teams to play a game. My communistic thought us that the AFL should pool all the revenue from all games, pay the running costs of the games, and distribute equitably the profits. Currently the "draw" aka fixedture determines to a large degree which teams remain rich and which remain poor, and perpetuates this inequity.

Even without the new EddieHad Stadium, which I am sure is the name that he would insist on using, under grounding Richmond station, through which about 9 services run, plus V line and freight, would be a monumentally disruptive for years, and exorbitantly expensive excercise. Even under grounding a few stations on the Dandenong line is too much hence Denial Andrews' (until recently) secret sky rail plan.

Hard is far too soft - impossible is a far better term.

I have just wasted several minutes of my life*, minutes that I will never recover, in the now obviously naïve belief that, given the thread title, I would find some up to date news about Jack's progress towards, hopefully, playing again for MFC. Of course I should have known better. It is time for the moderators to get a large red Texta and delete those thoroughly boring personal feuds *and a few more composing this rant.

Presumably old chap you mean "in front of whom"? Answer : in front of whomever his form warrants. Absolutely nobody knows what his form will be in the pressure of an AFL / VFL match, but I am getting sick and tired of people saying that he has no hope at all. Surely he deserves to be shown respect for his hard work and efforts, and bast wishes, not the incessant negativity by some on this forum.

Hird: "What transgressions? I have done no wrong!" Do you mean - all the friends he has at EFC / AFL / NRL?

Jesse Hogan and his kicking for goal (merged thread)
monoccular replied to Ricky P's topic in Melbourne Demons
If Ox is so concerned, and the true Demon at heart, how about offering to help him, not just criticizing? A quite uncharacteristic outburst Like the fantastic second effort with the amazing handball to ?Kent for a great lifting goal? Hopefully a one off, off day that everyone has. -
Good injury news for a change Is Stevens a reliable source?
-
Fined....for a bump to the shoulder !! FCS the MRP are unbelievable No.
-
Does anyone have any info re Spencer's injury? Did either of the Kings do anything worthwhile at Casey Saturday? I agree big Max needs careful management.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
monoccular replied to Freddy Fuschia's topic in Melbourne Demons
Multiple Brownlows (though now, post Jab to be renamed Downlow) and greater longevity. A few Norm Smiths wouldn't go astray either. -
Only if they use the Moloney precedent- 2 weeks for not hitting the head. Look again, ILLD:. Contact was to the shoulder.
-
He did confuse Max Gawn with Grimes - I guess they are pretty similar.....if you are blind, blind drunk, or don't care. Two arms, two legs, same team jumper...little else.
-
Contact was clearly to the Saint's shoulder, the Saint having bent forward as Pedo went to bump him. No head contact. The 'victim' was uninjured But being a MFC player he will go for 1 or maybe 2
-
At ¾ time the commentariat was comparing the Saints with something like 25 interchanges up their sleeves with our ?14 Most pleasing was the fact that we were still able to outrun them Look closely : impact was to the shoulder, then he fell. Still, knowing the history and integrity (not) of the MRP he may well get 2. After all Moloney got 2 for almost hitting Bartell. How about the dude who deliberately put Oscar into the point post? Deliberate Dangerous Sure he did some silly things, but some of the more seasoned back men did too. As the game went on he kept at it and did some good things. But, no, I think he is probable half a season away from attaining AFL standard. Hope he learns at Casey and keeps at it. Certainly not "hopeless" as some suggest. Just not ready, yet Our forward defensive pressure today was something I cannot remember from a MFC team, ever. And the overall team work was outstanding. Running to space - unheard of.

If we can keep Salem Kent Gawn on the field all year we will progress a lot.
-
Go Dees Jesse - forget today move on !
-
Senile Sandy. Melbourne FF Holmes !! And how could anyone confuse Max with Grimes?
-
Flying bug!!
-
How deliberate was that? Like a rugby try.
-
WTF band over shoulder and front on contact
-
Jesse just needs to kick on the run. No set shots.
-
I was just about to rave on about Salem field kicking and vision ..... then a super super goal
-
Jesse just having an offfffff day
