  1. or at least a bit of a chill
  2. Was Hulett playing? Daniel Breese was delisted about 15 years ago - highly rated but I don't think ever played a game..
  3. Like so many things that emerge from the hypocritical bowels of AFL HQ, equalization is all spin.
  4. Agree totally I frankly couldn't give a stuff about how Lumumba feels about his body/future IMO he is far too 'precious' and offers very little 2 and 3 are not reasons enough IMO.
  5. Those 2 goals from 50m very helpful Hawks
  6. What horrible commentary. BT almost let slip "we need 2 goals to win" and always stating the bleeding ibvious - Swans 6 points up then kick a behind 'now 7 points down'.
  7. Suck that Gunston
  8. I agree. Haven't had to listen to Bruce s lot this year but he is just too much. Add BT = appalling.
  9. Hawks looking pretty ominous. Whilst I rarely wish injury upon anyone, I think justice would be done if - someone were to give Mitchell a season ending corking in the PF - someone were to crash Hodge into the goalpost in the same game with the same result.
  10. I must say regardless of the other ins and outs the omission of Oliver astounds me. Don't we need a clearance machine?
  11. Nowhere near as good as Max's faulty (?Basil?) -- I suspect it is the second part of "rape and pillage" you mean. Not sure one can be "raped of" anything.
  12. Thanks so much Ted for simplifying what I ineptly tried to say. Far clearer for all I am sure.
  13. So....roof shut if raining (or threatening) or if sunny? Only open if cloudy sans rain? Surely it would be in the AFL's character to just make up rules on the run! I do find it amazing that technology that can send stuff to Jupiter (and 40+ years ago allegedly put man on the moon - sceptics beg to differ) and all other sorts of stuff cannot conceive something that can make adjustments to light and dark, sun and shade. Amazing.
  14. To whom are you referring, DJ*? Not Jayden, yet anyway. it is sometimes difficult when a player is referred to as "he" and is not the one about whom the thread is named. *and commiserations on your recent fall into poverty.
  15. Maybe SRO meant real AFL teams, not artificial creations of Vlad and the AFL propped up with huge draft gifts.
  16. No merit whatsoever. Could however join Pedersen in contested marking drills?
  17. Better news, it seems, today re #4 Dawes, to me, is not the option and may be sliding towards the outer I hope Hulett gets a look in for a few games to test his worth or at least potential Already a huge unit so physically ready for AFL Unfortunately both with chronic / recurring injuries, one with a great attitude and application and the other with absolutely no idea of loyalty.
  18. Ernest - as usual well phrased and balanced appraisal of Joe's (and don't forget his creditors') plight, and for his (or vicariously others') contribution in desperate times.
  19. Abe - have you watched him recently? Sure no manic headlong into every scrimmage type, but he has possibly won more contested ball and marks this year than in any two prior full seasons.
  20. Do a Brendon Goddard??? He isn't going to abandon the club that developed him to seek glory and fame at a drug den! Who? SPC - great sentiments but left out one important great: Great footballer, great bloke, great clubman, great signing- great news for the great club!!! i recall mentioning several years ago that he always had the volts (potential) but needed the amps (momentum) to produce the Wattage (energy) that we wanted. W=V x A. Now he has - a fantastic season and well done Jack.
  21. though Watts and TM took a bit longer than Nathan.....have come good though agreed.
  22. Hulett sounds as if he is just about 'knocking on the door' by some accounts from Casey, but the Weed sounds a bit further off. I know Dawes has, at least so far, been a coach favorite but if we do reach a stage of inevitable 9th or below and Hulett's form warrants it playing him in lieu of Dawes the final few rounds sounds a good idea. He has a footy ready body from all appearances.
  23. Very different than playing in Darwin. Alice in winter is little different from flying to Adelaide or Brisbane and is not hot...in fact could be a pleasant change from a Melbourne winter. Closer than Perth The issue I have is Darwin then a game anywhere the following week - totally unfair to both competing teams. If the AFL had any sense of justice whatsoever (and they clearly do not) they would schedule the Darwin game before the bye for both teams. It can be done, easily...the will (I guess the care factor) is not.
  24. I can see where 64 is coming from. IMO Salem, Brayshaw and Oliver will have (probably and hopefully far) higher ceilings than Matt, but at the moment Matt fills a rôle and fills it to the coach's expectations. But I suspect that when the aforementioned gain some experience, and match fitness, they will pass him by......provided that the coaches see them offering total commitment, which I believe they will show. But....good teams need depth with hard working (fairly) dependable players who can be absolutely relied upon to give their all, and do what is asked of them.
  25. Last night I am absolutely certain would be making him think - wouldn't it be such fun to play under Ross Lyon ???
