Just a question that some may be able to answer. When we have a game at Doglands coming up, are we allowed to train there? Maybe that is something that our tough administrators could take up with the AFL, the same time they demand the Darwin game must precede the bye.
-
Wow. What is the Saints' record at Docklands this year? Dogs' home game. Pressure +++ telling on the Dogs. And lack of forwards.
-
Disagree. We will only be ahead of Carlton when we can beat them. Haven't done that for a while.
-
Maybe your best 22 but not everyone's, including mine. Hunt and Wagner and Salem offer far more, and are our future not Collingwood's past.
-
The deliberate OOB interpretation is garbage. Maggots are garbage too. The Norf defender was pulled off balance but the moron called it deliberate.
-
Collingwood delivery into forward line this (3) quarter is awful. Makes ours look good.

Dawes training really well? Who was / were taken as emergencies?

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 18
monoccular replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Perhaps ungentlemanly, Ernest, but pretty irrefutable. Meanwhile Spencer dominates at VFL, does mark, does score and does ruck duties (and did play an important part in our last surprise win at Geelong last year)! PS: What is Spencer's contract status? He must be pretty [censored] off and one could not blame him if he were to request a trade. -
Get a life?

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 18

But Dawes doesn't, apparently. Dropped for poor form on the back of long term injuries > unfit to play last week > rewarded by a promotion !!?? But Dawes isn't? -

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 18

Weed to debut, or Hulett.....or Spencer who has worked his butt off at Casey as a tall forward option but no.......the chronic underachiever and underperforming Dawes gets whisked back in with no form and no fitness. I guess it will give Roos another opportunity to say it was lost at selection. One of the worst inclusions in a very long run of bad selections. -
1965 - 1987 we were just nowhere near the target on or off the field. The fall out from the outrageous sacking of TGNWS continued to (and perhaps still does) resonate for decades. 1987 - 2000 we were up and down - had the chronic / recurring injuries to the likes of Tingay, Glenn Lovett, Prymke, Jakovich, Lyon's chronic back problems, Ox, Neitz broken jaw etc etc not occurred we could well have snatched on (or more) in that period, especially 1990 - 1995. 1988 and 2000, our only two GFs, we came up against indisputably the best teams of their respective eras, and were clearly nowhere near them. Nobody was. And your final sentence has some relevance too - not all the other teams but one would strongly suspect that at least a couple may have had pharmacological assistance in the late 1980s and 1990s. And given their recent history, who knows about 2000?

Please remind me who he (or she?) is.

I wonder if he has offered, or been asked to come down to the club and mentor the likes of Jesse, Weed and Hulett in particular. If he hasn't offered, perhaps he should. Rather than bagging Jesse's kicking he could show him a trick or two. Maybe he is pi55ed off that he hasn't been asked, or worse an offer he may have made has been refused.

I said after the Essendon loss that this team, this club, has lost my trust......two more losses to the mediocre Saints only reinforces my heartbreak. Complain all you like about lack of loyalty, but I have followed this club for 60+ years and am absolutely gutted by these repeated losses against teams we should beat, easily.
-
Good question.
-
KC Did Hulett just "have a bad one"? It sounded like he may get a run or two in the AFL towards the end of the season - does this look likely? Has it been something like three byes in 5 or 6 weeks? How can a team gain any momentum in such circumstances?

Viney nominated for Mark Of The Year
monoccular replied to Lucifers Hero's topic in Melbourne Demons
I suspect that Bruce Mc will post a hundred votes for "Thiwwwillllll". -
So we do have a defence coach? Cleaning up the defence was supposed to be Roos' project for year 1, wasn't it?
-
I am so glad that you did not mention H and Dawes as senior leaders - some do - because they either ca not get on the field or underperform where they are needed.
-
Every (well almost) time we have had a good start this year the opposition has just run around us and leVe us flat footed. We are too predictable and our defense is a sieve. I recall Roos' year 1 project was a tight defence ..... now ??? !! We remain extraordinarily vulnerable to a bit of pressure, and in that respect nothing has changed. Sure we have more talented players to choose from, but the bottom line is that we fold far too easily. Roos did well with a great list at Sideney.....has he shown that he can bring an ordinary list to the top? Unproven in my view. I just hope Goodwin can get far more positive output very quickly in 2017 or the optimism will quickly wane and the abyss will open again.......possibly terminally. It is just so hard to maintain interest after all these years.
-
I honestly don't care anymore. For the first time in maybe 15 years I did not buy a membership - made that hard decision after the Essendon disgrace, reinforced by Saints #1 capitulation.......etc
-
Maybe it is the selectors who are out of their depth. Maybe Roos isn't as good as his results at Sydney, pampered by the AFL, suggests? Maybe he lacks depth too.
-
Carrie wouldn't: he would get the handball away cleanly and accurately - oh, but he wasn't playing today, was he? Can't recall too many. And by the way no way it would clash with the Saints today.
