And still going strong!

After hearing Neeld yesterday Redleg I think you are right. The things he said suggested to me that for the Dees the nab cup was more about testing plans and players than winning. So on that basis I thinks rounds 2 and 3 will be wipe outs. The pain could start in early march this year.

Agree RR The similarity for me is they are both very good when they are on song but when not they are ordinary there seems little middle ground. Trapper was a wasted talent as you suggest I fear Sylvia will end up the same. I remember a Sylvia five goal game against Hawthorn a couple of years ago he almost won the game himself. Sadly these are all too rare

Hi RobbieF have not seen you for a while ! Seems we were on the bulk up trip last year and that did not produce much of a year. So the opposite could hardly make us worse this year. Interesting to see how Moloney and Bate Go this year as they were obviously a lot heavier last year.

So was Trapper. I think he would want to have a consistantly good year in 2012 or might be on the trade list come September.

No so sure the "clear benefits " are quite so clear. last year there were 17 teams with leadership groups, 15 of them were not up to playing on GF day. It could be said that if one of them had used a different model they may have improved. The MFC had a leadership group and we had what may be the worst year in the last 40 years. The leadership group did not seem to help much in the lead up to the "186" weekend. Just because 18 teams in 2012 have them does not mean tha ta better model does not exist. It just mean no one has yet tried a different model. If we followed your logic no one would have moved to leadership groups in the first place because they had a model that had served well for 100 years.

Which model?

Trapper all over again?

Better late than never. He is 100% correct.

Tell me Lutz what do they actually do? I hear lots of comment but most of what I hear is fairly basic and ordinary stuff. The Dees now have 6 in the group plus two captains if they are all in the side and on the ground then 44% of those playing are "leaders" Add in 10 from the coaching panel so 18 Chiefs, that does not leave much room for the indians. But I digress what does the leadership group do?

I would imagine it increases with every passing day. However after the AGM I will be very surprised if anything happens this side of late March. Painful but not a lot of options. It is hard to do most things with my fingers crossed.

There are a number of reasons why I would like the season to commence. However, top of the list is that we might all forget about the Scully family. After all that has been said and written I cannot believe this latest thread has 7 pages and 261 comments ( including 1 from me ). Can we please forget this ex player and get on with talk about the MFC? I swear I will say nothing more about him this side of June. Am I the only one in this band or will others take the pledge?

Be very careful of low flying pigs Biffen!

Anyone going on Friday? Was planning to but work has got in the road.

I hope not Redleg I would like to see win a few games. On top of my desire to start the season well is the need to get the max. number of members on board. To achieve this we need some good results in the Nab cup. Particulary the first week. Only 2 good results will do.

for $1 million PA I could cope with the problems quite well!

Looks like a good 2c worth, spot on

I need to be convinced this guy has it. he was dumped by Adelaide, not a good look. We will know by round 22 but right now I do not expect a lot.

Round 1 is still a long way off GTG There is still a min. of 5 games before round 1 Keep your fingers crossed

I think that is a fairly short bet RL

Excellent RB caught him out nicely. Love it -
I feel like I am labouring the point here. Is it the same colour as last year's scarf? If so I am very dissapointed. That is Maroon IMO. Don't like it. Will I still go ? Yes but I would not buy anything in that colour. Did not wear last years scarf so it looks like the 2010 version will have to go round again.

BUT IMO it aint RED
