  1. No I hate 2 of the 3 teams my hope is they beat each other to a pulp. The Sunday Hun will be close enough for me. As well I am baby sitting my Grand daughter she is much more fun!
  2. God it would be bloody nice to have a winning season after the last 5 years of pain.
  3. Funnily enough RL I have the same feeling If you are small you have to be very very good to make it. So far I have not seen very very good even at VFL level.
  4. I agree but it would be hard to screw up a tigers jumper. You have two good colours to play with in Black and Yellow and then a great emblem. It is always hard to make light colours look good IMO The gods will probably fall on me but I don't think our colours are anything flash when it comes to creating designs and the "demon" is not a likeable emblem, society has spent 3000+ years convincing us that Devils / demons/ BB is not a good guy. I can understand why at various times the MFC has played down the "demon" I like everyone on here is wedded to it however if I was starting from scratch I would not choose a " demon" as my emblem. I have no idea if it is a factor in people following the Dees but it may have some influence if you want to adobt a team And believe it or not I have not had a drink for 48 hours ( perhaps that is the problem )
  5. WJ I have got to the point with GWS that all things to do with them make my brain go into hibernation mode and my eyes glaze over . But if I must comment then it is a very ordinary song but so are all the new entrants IMO. All the good ones are gone and it takes 50+ years before heritage starts to kick in, I thing Geelong has one of the worst songs but over time it grows on people Especially after you win 3 flags in 5 years. On that basis the GWS is going to be poxy well past all of our times on this earth.
  6. At the risk of appearing a total nong RL I like the hawk!
  7. Well I guess it takes all sorts WJ! I actually don't mind it. But I do have a soft spot for Hawthorn. I think it stems from my old days in the bush when my team where the hawks But strangely not brown and yellow.
  8. No the year after they won that year!
  9. or he will be trade bait come September
  10. Bad or not that is the reality, has been since Adam played full back for Jerusalem in the Sinai league
  11. IMO the last 5000 members are only swayed by performance. Have a good Nab cup and win 3 of the first four games and they put their hands in their pockets. Have a poor start , then forget them I think it is that simple.
  12. Spot on we could have had the best facilities on earth it was all about the Visy money.
  13. Spot on. That is why beating either Collingwood or Hawthorn is very important. Do that and the numbers will jump. However I will be surprised if we exceed 2011 numbers, at this time last year there was lots of promise on the back of an improved 2010. While there have been lots of changes to the club before the start of the 2012 season it is all promise at present. Delivery in the first month is vital otherwise the " I have heard it all before" rises and the last 5000 members stay home and keep their hands in their pockets.
  14. Or he is saying that as a way answering the question when he knows bugger all. I would think that if the guy in the shop knew then some one in the press would have picked it up by now and we would have a story going along the lines of "dees close to announcing....... as new sponsor. I think there are a couple of people around CS who know who we are chasing and IMO they would be saying nothing. That is why nothing has appeared in the press.
  15. I think we are pretty much in agreement RobbieF
  16. No, too rich for me wyl just from what I have picked up during Neeld's last couple of public mutterings. Hey I might be adding 2 and 2 and getting 5, it is just my reading of the situation.
  17. All of what you say is correct RR with one exception I do agree that this " overstretched on false expectation." was my position Like most supporters I start every year hoping for the best but after decades of disappointment I am now a little cautious. The biggest problem that keen supporters of most clubs have is that they over rate a large number of their players. With all the changes over the last few months we will see our team perform in a different manner in 2012. There is no guarantee they will perform to the level we require because a number of may be below the required level of skill. I hope not but it is possible. In
  18. The pies under strength is probably still way above the dees in early March. Time will tell Redleg just don't get to far ahead of ourselves. I smell " we are learning a new system and it takes time" in the air. Which may be 100% correct I just do not have a good vibe after hearing Neeld yesterday.
  19. I am used to pain following the Dees it comes with the territory. Have not given up yet wyl. Amongst all the extreme positivity on Demonland I cannot help but try and inject a bit of realism ( i think I just made up that word ) It would pay us all to remember this is basically the same lot that gave us such a wonderful 2011. They are trying to play a new style and a lot in different positions and as everyone reminds me they are mostly kids who need more games. Under those conditions it is not unrealistic to expect some poor performances at the start of 2012. Playing Collingwood and Hawthorn when you are trying to learn something new looks like very hard work to me. Both belted us last year when we supposedly knew what we were doing.
  20. I doubt it too wyl but all things are possible. It may take some time for the group to implement a new game plan. We could easily start with some ordinary performances. What was the old one again!
  21. Andy when do suscriptions start and finish? Adverts don't worry me mate have as many as you like.
  22. That is the understatement of the week BB and it covers a lot more than JW.
  23. It is not the FD I worry about it is the guys who run out onto the field. Basically the same sorry lot as 2011. Can they make big improvements? I sure hope so. But at this point I am big on Hope and low on confidence.
  24. After hearing Neeld yesterday Redleg I think you are right. The things he said suggested to me that for the Dees the nab cup was more about testing plans and players than winning. So on that basis I thinks rounds 2 and 3 will be wipe outs. The pain could start in early march this year.
