  1. So from that comment H_T I can only assume that we are not allowed to discuss a draft selection at the end of year 1. So is it ok to discuss at the end of year 2? Or perhaps we have to wait till year 3? Perhaps someone who goes early and ends up being right might actually be more 'Intelligent" !!!!!!!!! Sorry but in my view we can discuss a drafting decision at any point without being unintelligent. If you go too early then you run the risk of making a error and having to live with that comment.
  2. Mate if you are refering to the Captain announcement then it is a hell of a wait just to do both together. If it is not early next week I have a horrible gut feel that we do not yet have the required Sponsor to announce
  3. Just saved me typing 9 lines RB. Spot on I could not have put it better.
  4. I have trouble with everyone's extreme anger at Scully. He had no say who drafted him, after 2 years he could go to GWS because the AFL set it up that way and the clubs missed it when they agreed to the recruiting plan for GWS. So the AFL and the MFC were responsible for the situation that allowed him to go to GWS. Scully chose the money over the MFC. We have some compension in draft picks. Beyond that we have a guy that may have been dishonest during 2011. But most of the AFL clubs have a large amount of dishonesty in their dealings so why is Scully such a [censored] he has learnt from experts. Lying is the second language of the AFL. We were probably able to recruit Clarke because Scully went. In the end that may be a better deal for the MFC Lets all get over it, the guy has gone Onward and upward for the Dees
  5. The only significant event in the next week is the AGM on Wednesday ( cannot go this year In Bris on business ) Perhaps then????
  6. I have onl;y one thing to say Where the hell is the second sponsor?
  7. Are they not the same thing?
  8. That is two that they have stuffed up Redleg!
  9. I checked H_T he was delisted, have no idea if Craig had any involvement
  10. According to the MFC web site there is no "open" training
  11. Very good point, if my memory is correct he was delisted by the Crows. I cannot believe how a lot on here are raving about him. The guy was a marginal player at Adelaide. We must have a poor backline if he goes straight in!
  12. He did not show a lot at the Crows, i think he was delisted? Why do we think he is going to be a world beater at the dees? I do not expect much beyond a bit player role.
  13. On the re read I noticed I totally missed it. Hot day well that is my excuse
  14. Sorry I thought you were suggesting he was not up to the job. My mistake?
  15. I think I heard he is coaching in HK. Probably getting paid 5 times as much as he was in Melbourne. There is one thing the Victory board cannot do. They cannot change the fact that Ernie won 2 flags. It will be a very long time before that is equalled. I suspect long after the current board has been shown the door.
  16. I don't follow either Redleg, the game frustrates me. I doubt I will ever get keen about soccer, spent too much of my life on AFL. Probably my loss not soccers' The Victory board fasinates me much more than the game.
  17. Especially when they work!
  18. JT I stand to be corrected but my memory is he only dropped to the reserves late in the season, then did not play the last couple of games. I thought I heard that he was injured prior to being dropped and the idea was that the injury ( hip that I remember ) would respond to treatment. When it did not he was sent off for surgery. Now I am not a big fan of Cook so far but you may be doing him a disservice. The kid was in his first year, he had less than ideal conditions at Casey. In 2012 he should be in a better position at Casey with no Fev etc. I hope by this time next year we will have seen enough to jusity is selection at no.12 in 2010.
  19. RR I do not disagree with the basic plan, but it was skinny kids and little else. 2011 was IMO the direct result of that policy What is ahead in the next couple of years looks promising but it did at this point 1 year ago. I hope Neeld and company are geniuses because we need a little bit of that and a lot of luck.
  20. However they turn out the dees have had rotten luck with both Blease and Strauss. Both with bad leg breaks as well as other injuries. After being drafted at the end of 2008 they both only really got going physically in 2011 Hopefully 2012 will show us the worth of their drafting 3 years ago.
  21. By the way what was the DB "set-up" ?
  22. Glad to see you are back with a better avatar SM!
  23. You may be right RR that the blame went further than Bailey and BP but it always worried me. I am sure I mentioned on DL a number of times that our largest problem was who was going to carry the side until all the kids developed. We know that every draftee does not make it so it always looked to me like we were put all our eggs in the "Youth Basket". Nett result is we are now trying to get some experience and developed bodies into the Mix. Thank god we have seen the mistake and started to do something about it.
  24. You know it is probably only going to get worse (Your worry that is ) Strauss has a very long way to go before he wins the MFC B & F. To start with he has to get over a shockingly bad leg break. That might make 2012 an average year on it's own. In my wildest dreams I do not see him winning one before 2013 if ever. Suffer on with me Ron B
  25. Very good 8.5 score
