Roos's message is getting across. Is this the turning of the corner?I [censored] hope so.

Irrespective of their form when they play us they always seem to make us into chop suey. Having said that, it appears to be our best chance so far this season to grab a win. With our inabilty to score goals it is a must that Dawes gives us some forward line presence.

I have consulted my local witch to see if she could cast a spell on the blues to lose. Difficult to do as we are are both tainted. She was able though to cast a spell to temporarily lift the tankers be damned forever curse but that will only work for the winner.

So true.

We need to be more savvy with moon phases and tides. Our regular drawing "the line in the sand" gets washed away too easily.

Don't normally get into off topic discussions but attitudes like Hanibal's etc are those of fools that play into the extremists hand. Aiding them to their nefarious goals. There has been a bitter struggle within Islam between moderate forces and a radicalised small minority who refuse to live in the modern world. There are many complex reasons why but colonial imperialism has been a major cause. They want to divide Islam and the rest and will use extreme violence not only against other faiths but mostly against their own to cower and intimidate. The strategy is to turn moderate Islam against Christians etc. So far they are struggling to turn the overwhelming majority of their own people hence the desperation of their actions to provoke loathing and revenge from others.

Tex is appearing to have a longer than expected recovery from his knee injury. Lets see him him back on the park first. I haven't forgotten what happened to The Ox after his knee went several times.

Lake's career was in limbo for his last two seasons at the Bulldogs. Injuries and the Magoos was his lot. Whoever gets Frawley will get him at his prime for a key defender
-
The highlight of his many incarnations was the endless vituperation against anyone that suggested Scully would leave us.
-
There can be no denying that he is still one of the best match up in the game for big powerful key forwards. His deficiences like inconsistent disposal and frequent mistakes can be corrected as are more cerebral aspects of his game like form, confidence and enthusiasm. That is his big selling point to any club in a premiership window. Some will pay the money figures bandied about because they know he can shut out a Cloke or a Tippett and other gorillas.

GOODBYE MITCH CLARK
John Crow Batty replied to The Song Formerly Known As's topic in Melbourne Demons
When he played he gave all he had and I wish Mitch the best but being a Melbourne supporter I wonder why yet another unlikely scenario is happening to us? This is not a something that happens often. Scratching my head to when was the last time a player had to retire due to mental health issues and forgo a sizeable chunk of their contract. Not a comfortable feeling but I feel this story will play out further at the end of the season. -
A measure of how low we have sunk. An upset if we beat a dysfunctional and distracted side currently marginally better than us.
-
This will be bruise football in its purest form. A Clayton's Kruezer cup. Still 4 points up for grabs.
-
Yep we do. I was concentrating on the white shorts to keep tabs on our players.

I think everything will even out eventually. There is a salary cap and even top sides can only afford one or two players at the highest salary levels. And so can we. It can break down however if the AFL do not keep a lid on underhanded methods and brown paper bags. I am starting to get over players like Clark and Frawley and others who for various reasons are/were on big coin but giving us minimal output in return. I crave for a switched on team where everyone plays for each other and is an integral part of the winning puzzle. We realistically cannot get any worse if we lose a couple of big earners. Others will replace them and if we can get our mojo together they will perform to their worth and be less likely to leave.

A long term twisted ankle?

Some real stallwarts came out higher up in 2003. Mundy, H Shaw, Z Dawson, S Fisher and Stanton to name a few.
-
I still tend to suspect there are internal divisions within the players loosely categorised under which coach they started under. The Bailey Boys, the Neeld boys and now Roos is the meat in the sandwich. Clark being in the Neeld camp.

Schwab's greatest achievement was in pulling off this con job that sucked in just about everybody from experts, the media, fans(both ours and others) to punters.

SMALL MERCIES - POST MATCH DISCUSSION
John Crow Batty replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I would add that Pederson, Spencer Bail etc would look a lot better if they were playing in a side that Watts, Grimes, Frawley and Howe were firing. -
