It's not fallacious at all. Jones has been our most consistent contributor all year.Good teams can lose good players and still be good teams (see Collingwood and Hawthorn) because they have depth. More importanly they have a structure and set up that means jobs can be done by different players. We have neither depth nor structure so if a key player like Jones is out - we are in even deeper shite.

I watched Hawthorn wipe out Essendumb last night. They were quick, structured and SKILLFULL and missing their gun player. Compare them to us and ask yourself how far in both years and cattle we are from them. Posters above mention starting to dream about next year. I reckon we should be dreaming about next decade. Obviously we are both supporters who are peed off in our own way. However, I will not concede improvement until our players can consistently deliver the ball (hand and foot) to teamates. Look how the top sides do it even under pressure. Our standard is woeful and I have not seen improvement in this area.

We were playing a side that made 7 changes and despite our outs such massive change should have provided us with the opportunity to be at least competitive. And don't kid yourself about the margin, Richmond's poor kicking saved us from a hiding. And it was poor kicking not the result of our unrelenting pressure!

Disgruntled, disappointed and disgusted. How anyone can find positives (or hope) in what I saw today amazes me. Our skills were as bad today as they were 5 years ago.
