Unchanged side. Think Maric is travelling but not in the initial plans..
-
We drafted Nick Smith 70 picks ahead of Brent Moloney and Craig Bolton. There's a real failure
-
As completely left-field as this answer may be are you suggesting you are more informed on the issue than the coach himself?
-
I have never seen Dean laugh and be so happy in my whole life. Getting some?
-
will be so important for us in years to come. can really see this run and kick off the hbf in the red and blue for many years
-
You do realise you're trying to trade 6 average players for a player who kicks 70(66) goals a season. Very keen.
-
I love Davey but he is the epitome of 'should not be available for ANZAC DAY representation'. I would be confident in saying Cameron Johnstone would be more keen to put his head over the footy for the good of his mates than Davey would. The only reason Davey and Bennell ever bend down is because they think they can get there quicker than contact. If they're predicted contact they stay on their feet and wait for a tackle.

WYL, if I have listened correctly to Patrick all week he is not critisizing the MFC for the penalty, IIRC he thought the punishment fit the crime and that was a good move, it was the 'public humilation' in that he believed Cam Schwab created a very awkward situation in forcing Brent to admit to a binge drinking problem and stated it was as if he hadnt been told this was coming and to expect it, Cam just threw it on him during the interview.... I do think Smith liked the punishment, just not the way the interview was conducted.

Garry has begun to really frustrate me. Eddie will never belittle the Pies, Crawf the Hawks, Billy the Cats yet for some reason more and more, Garry seems to be asking the questions of the Dees. I love having a powerful figure in the media but geez it seems on FC that he's as keen to question the Dees as one C.Wilson

Dane Swan. Considered one of the AFL's best players and I'd trade my left leg to get him at the dees. Drafted pick 58 in the 2001 draft, at the end of the 2005 he averaged 13 touches a game. For a midfielder 4 years in you would consider these stats to be poor stats. In fact, one Brad Miller in 04-05 averaged just one possession less as a Forward. It took until 2008 for Swan to average the 30 possessions he averages now, and turn into the elite player he has become. My question is why are so many posters keen on wanting 'Brad Millers' who can be bright early and dim into a VFL'er when for all we truly know we are developing a beautiful Swan. (pardon the pun) Food for thought

Some demonland posters are the stupidest people in the world when it comes to drafting. Specifically thread creator. Every single year, players drafted in the 60's surpass picks in the 1's and 10's. There is no point drafting a player who will be good for the first 2 years of his career and rubbish for the rest. You are looking for slow yet substancial growth. The perfect example of this is coming through with now Rohan Bail. The key to drafting from 5 years ago and forever is not drafting the best player, it is drafting the player you believe has the most potential in 5 or 10 years time. Watts was the best person in the draft, whether he has the most potential was the job of the recruiters and clearly they thought he did but because of this i cannot fathom how people can judge the last 3 years worth of drafting. A correct thread would be criticising the drafts of 2004-2007 and how about 3 players have come on from them.... There are no promises Watts will be a gun, nor are there promises Strauss, Blease, Maric will be. Chances and percentage say of the 4, 2 will fail however, the way you critique these players is an embarrassment on yourself and more so our club and supporters in having to cope with you.

Thanks Dean Bailey. I'm sure we're getting in the players head. After 6 years of spending only consecutive weeks with a spoon of the wooden variety you'd think supporters would be able to enjoy any success, but nope stuie is here to shut every one down. Cheers buddy.

Bartram can have a week off for one of Blease or Strauss

SUNDAY STROLL AS DEES HAVE FUN AGAINST THE SUNS
Arrow replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Sadly, and what I think will cause us to lose to West Coast is that Casey also have the bye. -
My golly gosh if you can't get this thread i'm just lost for words. One of the commentators on Triple MMM mentioned today as he kicked something about him being the last black boot wearing AFL player left! Love him

Green - waiting for spark Jones - struggled for involvement Bartram - no offensive output Watts - finally promising signs Gysberts - quieter than usual Bennell - 6 INSIDE 50's! Frawley - didn't really care (and fair enough ) Trengove - star in making Morton - finding some form Sylvia - incredible in junktime Dunn - only good early Grimes - standard grimes performance Garland - could've performed better Moloney - give back VCaptaincy Jurrah - so so exciting! Rivers - another solid game Wonaeamirri - key to forward-pressure Martin - our second ruckman Tapscott - time for rest? Davey - starting to question Jamar - All Australian 2011 Bail - our new gem! Just a quick one.. Grimes had 27 touches.. how is he not prolific. I think we used to talk him up so so much that we've now done a complete reversal where if he misses a target he's the new Cam Bruce or if he doesn't touch it 30 times he's gone missing. Three word analysis of this thread: Some are fickle.

typical melbourne. jesus christ

While everyone else talked down Melbourne this week I jumped on Centrebet with the pick your own line option. +80 was paying like 4.50 or something fantastic. Still not a certainty but in hindsight everyone would be taking it at 4.50!
-
Went and checked the stats and he hasn't had one yet. SEN have mentioned his name 10 times in 6 minutes. Grrr another goal
-
sounds like Fraser has won every tap out. seeesh

My honest suggestion would be to steer clear if you're watching the delay. I'll listen on the radio only because I want to know up to date what is going on and god forbid we do not win, ill be coming straight here with a thread which would be about 3 quarter time in the delay. I'd hate to wreck people's viewing.

Our players are out there partying like rock starts, be it with or without the approval of the leaders of the club. Every single club in the AFL has the issue and every code in the world does. It bother's me how much people put their heads in the sand on this issue. Scully IMO opinion would be the only Melbourne player not to have had a night on the beers since the season started and I think you're naive if you disagree.
-
Tapscott has struggled immensely kicking out. I think its the only facet of his offensive game he's struggling with so far in the big league. I remember distinctly last year against the Pies round 2, Strauss kicked a pin point 55 meter pass into the centre square where Bruce marked, handballed straight to Pendlebury who goaled straight back over James' head. Tough thing for a second game player playing for a team who was reigning wooden spooners.

Had 30 touches today at North Ballarat. Good to se you're keeping up.

From the text i got "It's the Melbourne show". Warnock dominating and Petterd has kicked a few. Answers your question too daisycutter
